Hey Sir, I have a question. First of all, thank you for sharing invaluable knowledge. I have a 2005 ford f-150, had the transmission overhauled a year ago, no issues with it. recently had the truck painted. after painting it and putting it back together, it goes into neutral when i go into overdrive. I've dropped the valve body and doing the zip kit from sonnax on it, but i was thinking and reading. The only thing i've done that changed something that may effect the transmission, is installing a new led 3rd brakelight. I have read on forums that this led light bulb shows the pcm there is a "short", or not enough resistance, in the circuit due to the filament of the halogen bulb providing more resistance than an LED light. So this circuitry is tied to the brake switch and supposedly the TCC will not engage if it thinks the brake is being activated, which it always is apparently in this theory with the LED. I doubt this is my problem, and i will easily be able to find out if it is when i put my valve body back in and get it running again, i'll just remove that 3rd brake light and see what happens. My question to you, an expert, is this:
If pcm is not allowing the TCC to engage, would the transmission neutral out when trying to go into Over drive, or would it just not even try to go in overdrive and stay in 3rd as if overdrive was turned off?

Or it could be like mine, a burr in the port where my shift solenoid Sat. The o-ring was torn but not all the way through and the ripped piece was lodged between o-ring and wall. Causing an internal leak. Check your o-rings on your shift solenoid and make sure your installing it (pressing in) level. Don’t put in on angle. I didn’t buy new solenoid, I saw the ripped piece and just got an o-ring from another trans from junkyard.

Hi I have a 2003 mercury marauder . Car has 88k on it . It sat for about 8 years. It runs great but starts out slow and has a flashing overdrive light and a check engine light for codes p0750/ p0753 . The fluid looks great smells great. . I’m thinking about changing the solenoids. . I check the harness and did not see any issues . You ever see or hear this ?? Any help would be great . Thanks 🙏

This is a shift solenoid electrical problem, shift solenoid A. One need to check the plug that goes into the transmission for corrosion if it has been sitting. Also, if the plug is wet with transmission fluid, it means the the transmission case connector is leaking. Therefore, it will need to be changed. Make sure to inspect the wiring harness for critter bites.

Those are both Ford ...the one scratched off is probably from melling or another company that makes parts for ford and sell overstock sometimes by scratch the ford info off and re label it

@@thisisyourtransmission yeah i get it builder, but you were you before you spin bolts,my customers were always promised their vehicles done when i say so,with a 1% return they wait, try it,i tell them if you can get it quicker somewhere else, take it there, few people can take something apart and put it back together again with 300 to 400 pieces, you'll never run out of work, they break them everyday,no matter how many times i tell them to change oils, they never listen, then there's the fleet accounts, dumber than a box of rope, take your time, when you have unit open, piss on the clock, comebacks suck real good,i'm enjoying retirement, and get my oil changes by mail now,lol

I rebuilt my transmission on my 03 mercury grand marquis. Mechanic put everything new. However once I installed it again it's giving me P0750 and P0755 shift codes. And also my OD light is flashing. I just bought the Ford oem solenoids hopefully it fixes my issues. Can anyone please give me any tips on what I should do.

could be bad wire, splice new solenoid wiring or replace the valvebody harness,
