A bit of a sensitive subject today.
I never really realized that getting burnt out can happen to anyone. But it's hard to understand if you haven't been through it yourself, or seen it with someone close to you. As I mention in the video, I was looking down at people who were not working as much as I did. And today I feel so stupid for being so narrow minded.
It's not lazy people who burn out, but more commonly those who are really eager to walk the extra mile to make a good job.
Thank you all for the love and support I've gotten through this time. It means alot!
And I wish that you all take care of yourselves out there ✨

Oh yes,, been there, done that.
I got knocked down too, with stress and was burned out. Terrible. So I understand exactly what you are going through.
Fortunately I did not get depression. But I did get some damage to my brain, so I can't handle the challenges it is working as an electrical and refrigeration technician.
But I can drive. And I have had the C-E license since I was 19 years old, and I've been lucky to find an easy and simple part time job as a truck driver 🙏😊
Taking walks in the forrest is good, take your time, and train your mind to appreciate and be grateful for anything that you have and can. 🙏 😊 If I can be of any help, feel free to write and ask. All the best.

❤ Cassie, even if you die on the job, you will be replaced the next day, no matter how many times we think we have a great employer, we're still just a number or an object to them, look after yourself first. Just do what you need/want to do, I don't follow this channel because of the trucks, (or the baking lol), I follow it for you & your addictive & calming personality. Get yourself better & back to full strength, sending you huge hugs & the very best of luck with your new job.

    • @Hans-gb4mv
      @Hans-gb4mv 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

And yet, some people are hard to replace. Something I had to remind my boss about a lot of years ago. I told him that if he ever dared to call me unmissable, I would quit my job on the spot. I did leave that company in the end and while they do of course manage to continue just fine, they did lose some valuable input that they still haven't managed to find a new solution for.
While everyone can be replaced, you're not always just a number. And plenty of people are missed when they leave, and often for the right reasons. But in your life there is one thing we must never forget: always take care of ourselves first and if you have a good employer, he'll give you every opportunity to do so.

We call them Slavendrijvers in Dutch.. Slave drivers. They think they own you and you are just their property to be exploited the way they see fit. I'm not a truck driver myself, I work logistics as a forklift driver and I have heard stories about the same thing happening here in the Netherlands. Especially when it comes to East European drivers.

I’m glad you are feeling better now, burn out is a huge problem in modern life and too many ppl disregard their mental health. Mental health is so very very important and I want to thank you for being so open and honest. More attention needs to go into showing it’s ok to get help when you need it and it’s nothing to be ashamed of. I hope you continue to feel better Cassie, lots of love

Remember Cassie, we all love watching your videos and care about you, working as hard as you can to make as much money as you can is not a bad thing , neither is being a workaholic isn't either but for your own well being remember to take time for your self, I watch a lot of trucking videos, because I'm addicted to all things truck related and car and motorcycle related, or anything thing that can be driven , but your videos are inspiring and calming, keep making videos and keep trucking if that's what you really enjoy, but taking care of yourself is the first priority, I think most of us watching your channel understand when you can't make your videos, much love and hugs from Wisconsin

Hello Cäzzie, my name is Erik and I'm from Sweden too! I just wanted you to know that you are a huge inspiration for me! I wish I could have witnessed your journey through all of this, first hand. But I have a feeling that I already know a lot. You are such an amazing human being, you spread happiness wherever you drive and go. I'm glad you had such a good friend ;) that could at least try and help you notice the conveniences that could arise from working too hard. I also believed that you were always strong enough to "get through" this, even though it's not that correct to say. I hope you always had the help you needed, when needed. I really hope things work out for you in the future. A burn out can be life changing, or an eye opener. But usually, if you try hard enough to learn from it, will always lead to a better future.
I hope you read my comment and know that you're a fantastic person and I will always, forever try and be there for you.
    With love, Le Chef.

HI Cassie is great to see you, in a new video. Want to let you know that you are a strong brave woman, thank God you did find the friend that told you what was happening and then you had the courage to get up talk to a doctor and get help. I always have enjoyed your videos, you always smiling and getting the job done. In this new part of your life, work and everything else I sincerely wish you the best, that you can feel back at home in what you do and with your personal life. To end this message I'll want to say that what an amazing walk through the woods and what a beautiful sunset, you are lucky to leave in such amazing place. From the bottom of my heart, I'll be cheering for you that all goes well and everything goes back on track. Greetings from Florida 🇺🇸. Stay safe and always happy.

Thanks for beeing honest and so straight forward .Myself i worked as a car mechanic full time and restored old cars at home...26 years and then just one day my tears came rollin down and i lost all my power...After 2 month feeling horrible,i suddenly realized that i want too work as a child and youth worker...That changed my life too the better.Had one sentence in my head one day, saying you only live once, why not do something great. With all repect too both the professions as a mechanic and the truck drivers..My father was i truck driver for many years, but he always said when he retired, that the industry is getting tougher and sadly it is beeing a heavy load on the drivers and the people who maintain and recues when the trucks brakes down.
All my best wishes goes too you Cassie and i really hope that you find your way...The show goes on....

I'm sorry you got to the point of burn out my dear. Unfortunately it hits everyone uniquely and no 2 people suffer the same way over the same incidents. You are a beautiful person and will come thru this much stronger. We ALL want the best for you my dear. Thank you for reaching out to us and explaining your feelings on this. We can pay better attention to you and relate, maybe even foresee a looming issue. All our love and support.

A brave topic to air publicly, it takes a strong person to do that in itself. Its good to hear you recognised the problem and sought help, and great to hear your well on the road to what you feel as normality 😁
Work to live and not live to work, all work and no enjoyment of free time soon takes its toll.
Great to see you smiling and admire you for telling your story of your burn out.
Keep doing what you enjoy, all the best 👌🤞

Hey Cassie, what a very frank and honest talk about the way you feel. It takes a very special person to open up and share their feelings, so well done you. I can't believe your wages were docked just because their crappy under maintained truck kept breaking down!! Anyway, I'm glad that you sought medical advice and are now heading towards feeling better in yourself. I do hope that your new job is more suited to you and that you will be happier in your work, you are a very good driver. As many others have mentioned, you have a large fan base out here, and I'm sure that we are all behind you and give you the respect that you deserve. You have some really beautiful scenery in your part of the world by the way! Take care and be safe, best wishes from the Isle of Wight ;-)

Thanks so much for telling us about how you've been. Please don't think that you're alone in this. I've been coping with anxiety for 20 years now. Everything you told us I've experienced. I've felt like a lab rat with doctors that keep trying medications. I lack my old yearning of getting out and doing something, anything. I'm always tired. I'm 74 now but in good physical shape so I've been feeling like a loser for along time. Hang in there and be tough. Keep busy so your mind has something new to see and experience. I've truly loved your video's and appreciate what you accomplished. Good luck with the new job. Don't let taking videos tire you out. We can wait to see you when your ready. Be safe in all you do.

Like others have said we're all a part of your community and enjoy what you show us and talk about and look forward to hearing about your new job but please, make sure that you are doing it in a way that is safe for you and not getting you stressed out about the work. You are brave to bare your soul so openly and honestly in such a public forum. I'm reluctant to give lifestyle advice because I have realised that what works for me doesn't work for most other people.
You are working out how to get balance in your life. Balance between doing things other people ask (or demand) and what you need to do for your own well-being. Most employers are driven to make profit and they really don't care what impact their demands have on employees. Look after your well-being first.
Hang in there Cassie, you may be an introvert but you are intelligent, you can always find a solution to your problems.

Thank you for sharing Cassie. It is always nice to see a video from you. We all need to take care of ourselves mentally and physically. I went through a divorce a couple of years ago. I sought help from a professional with the encouragement of a friend. I know it helped me a lot. I think sometime people don't know where to turn to for help and think why is this happening. Talking to someone can help. Enjoy the new job.

"I want you to work over Christmas, but I don't want to pay you anything extra". "I will take the repair costs out of your pay". How are these people still in business? I have been hounded out of a job by a lousy boss, and suffered a full nervous breakdown as a result. So I know fully what you went through. That was 23 years ago, I still have issues that are a product of that time. I truly hope you get to where you want to be in life without hassle from bad bosses. Take care of yourself, and I mean be absolutely selfish in that. You are the only you there is, there isn't another you in the entire world. You are the most important person to you. Thank you for sharing your story, I hope it has helped you greatly by telling it to us all out here. We are all behind you xx

Hey Cassie, thank you for those open words and that you found a way out of your old habbits. Taking time for yourself is very important, lucky you, that you have such an amazing nature around you. Sounds like you make good progress on your recovery and that your decision to take on a new job, where you can do what you love, will help you with that. Fingers crossed. Love to hear from you. Greetings from Germany, Andy.

I can relate to everything you say. Stress is a terrible thing, I suffered the same symptoms but didn't realise it was the job causing all the illness. Trucking is in the blood, just need to find the job that suits you (hopefully this one does) if not move on to the next one until you find a job you enjoy doing and for a company that appreciates you, be loyal only to yourself and find a driving job you look forward to going to, there are good jobs and good companies, just keep looking until you find one that feels right, I have and now the stress and mental heath issues have disappeared. Take care and speedy recovery

Greetings from Scotland! When we are young and feel fit, we think we are indestructible! I completely understand everything that you talked about during your walk in the beautiful forest Cassie. I had a boss who took advantage of my love of long distance driving. With another driver I drove from Northern Scotland to the South of France, or Spain or Italy, only stopping for fuel and food. After 4hrs "rest" when we got there before loading and returning again home again. 1 day off per week (when I slept for the whole day!) then I serviced my own or the other vehicles (I was also a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic) and then off to the south to do it all again! There is a limit to how long your body and mind can take this punishment before they "break". Like you, I became ill and had to go to hospital. I was easily cured but I never recovered properly. It affected me a lot more than I realised and I eventually had a heart attack at 32 years of age! That meant my license had to be handed in and my long distance driving days were finished, just like that! Like you I felt a curious mix of guilt and elation! But I believe it was my body's way of telling me "ENOUGH!" I guess you could say I learned the hard way? Like you I have tried many other things in life bur I listen to a big diesel pulling hard on the way past and I get an overwhelming urge to go back - I can't do that, it's not possible. However, you may be able to Cassie. Get well slowly (don't try to rush this!) and see what fate brings past your door of life - it may surprise you! Most of all HAVE FAITH IN YOURSELF! You're young and smart, you'll survive this and thrive. Meantime, just enjoy your time off while you can! Your gorgeous dogs and the cat need you right now! :)) P.S. I almost forgot - you could always video another baking session???? :)) I really enjoyed that! :)) Good luck in the new job Cassie!

    Hi there Cassie!
I really found your video very relatable in many similar ways.
When you mentioned that you had no energy or desire to do any of the things you previously enjoyed, I thought
    "She's dealing with depression".
I been through the same thing.
It's hard in sooo many ways, especially recognizing that you have a problem and that you need help.
I'm very happy that you made the decision to take care of yourself, especially when those you were working for didn't appreciate you!
I believe that for anyone to have a balanced life with work you need to do the things that make you smile away from work.
I think that some form of involvement in working with animals may still be in your horizon.
I say that from me just watching your interaction with your pets!
You seem like a very gentle, soft spoken person that has that special inner-self that animals are drawn towards.
All that being said, take care of yourself and remember to make time for the most important person (Cassie)!!
    🤗😘🙏🏻
    Bye!

Thank you Cassie for your openness about your situation. It is something I learned myself we all are different and when adversity happens each of us handle it differently but we all need to know our limits and fund the proper balance between work and home life. It definitely is extremely difficult in trucking which is 1 of the reasons I decided to buy my own truck so I could earn more and not be forced to work when my family and wife needs me. It such a difficult balance

Hi Cassie☺ I'm so sorry to here of your troubles, what you describe your going through, I've been through the same thing, this is more common than people think, but not many people are willing to talk about it, I think your very brave, and olso it's a positive move on your part to talk about this, accepting what the problem is means your starting to move forward whith your life, you will have to be careful your enthusiasm to get trucking doesn't end up giving you stress which could result in your health suffering again, don't let anybody pressure you, whatch out for the signs, and if necessary take some more time for yourself, you've all your life in front of you, please look after yourself, this is heartfelt advice from a fellow sufferer, stay safe, best wishe's, Stuart.uk. x

Thanks for sharing your story. It changed my paradigm of Sweden 🇸🇪 I had this impression that folks in Sweden didn’t even work 40 hours. But what you’re talking about is similar some jobs in USA 🇺🇸 and the same thing happens to the folks here. They get burnt out which leads to many health problems. Good luck 🍀 with your new job and please keep us posted. Take care.

Just stay well and safe Cassie and remember to enjoy the downtime an recharge so you do not burn out.
Be well and safe and enjoy your weekend. 🙂🙂

You are doing the right thing. I wasn't a trucker, I spent 43 years as an industrial Mechanic, keeping manufacturing plants going. working long hours, multiple shifts, call in's during the middle of the night because it was the only way I knew. Then, one day I ran into the same health problems as you but at a much older age than you, older doesn't always mean wiser! Stick to your plan, listen to your body and life will turn out the way it's intended to. Good luck with your new job, and I'll be here waiting for your next post.
