It was about time someone did this video on doubles! Good job. The one thing to say about backing with the dolly ...Is that since it’s short, it doesn’t take much for the dolly to jackknife, so you have to baby it in. I’ve not used a dolly, but I’ve pulled many small trailers. I’ve seen trailers dropped with the dollies still connected. Maybe someone wasn’t paying close attention during training. I understand about being safe when hooking up trailers, but it was odd that you couldn’t make the video on company property. You should always be safe when connecting any trailers. Don’t forget to check all the lights! Good stuff! 😳🤩😎

I love that you're here to help educate. There's not enough of that anymore in this industry. It used to be the way, you help out your fellow driver...but the drivers coming in today aren't that old school trucker anymore and no one helps anyone. For some (me) its a lifestyle not a job...but for most today its the opposite. No pride. I see the pride in your videos! You are a "trucker" keep the shiny side up greasey side down driver! One thing Shelby. Thats not the tongue that moves inside the pintle hitch at the back of the trailer. That is the air ram that applies pressure on the tongue of the dolly. Because of limited room , we used to have to back the dolly with the trailer. ToddTRT

My son works as a switcher just outside philly. He and I worked together as switchers in another, smaller facility west of philly. We saw all kinds of stuff outside drivers would do. Great videos.

I,m Glad you take the time to do it the correct way the 1st time.I think you need to retrain about 80% of your Fed ex Ground Drivers as way to many of them are to lazy to crank up the landing gear on there trailers.I did learn from you about the beepers on them trls.Ive been driving 36yrs and I learned something new from you.

That " Tongue" is called a snubber. It will press up against the the Dolly Eye to keep rear trailer from swaying while driving down the road.

okay something i am going to add and this is something i do here in Alaska, I know its different every where else. But when i unhook doubles, I always leave maybe 1/2 inch to a inch off the ground for the back trailer. so when you go to hook up to the trailer again you wouldnt have to crank the landing gear that much to move it to an open spot

Wow,those dollies look super dangerous, alot of things to remember,I'm totally in awe that you drivers have to manhandle them to get them unhooked or move them around. Two tonnes worth of dolly is a lot of weight just by itself. You are doing an awesome job keep safe and proud lady 🚛 driver.
