I stopped watching this video like around 2 weeks ago. When I did I actually was watching due to me going to purchase a 2004 E500 sedan as a project vehicle! Now I come back to this video and I should say, What an amazing vehicle. Coming from owning only Nissan/Infiniti what a fantastic handling car! I fixed an airmatic sensor and it’s riding pretty level planning on getting all 4 struts and pump replaced, As per taking it to the dealership for the SBC pump replacement (free no cost) as It’s randomly throwing a “Brake malfunction” I’ve put around 2K miles in it already it’s sitting at 210K miles got it for a steal! Too

@@snggarageeng Thank you, Unfortunately a couple months back we received a lot of rain here in Florida and I work in a flood zone long story short it got flooded, Still took me home but had a lot of electrical problems I had to end up junking it for near scrap. Now I’m in a downgrade 2013, C250 miss that E class alotz
Id suggest replacing the brake lines completely from the ABS block to the wheels, it’s around the age those solid steel lines are going to be pretty corroded especially above the fuel tank.
Ive had the E220 cdi aut. For 6months now and im at 490 000km with no problems. No air suspension so no problems.

The OM648 engine is fantastic! Doesn't sound like diesel at all when you floor it. Has a really muscular roar to it. And 50 mpg

I have a 2005 e200cdi with 285.000km now that i bought in march, and I've fallen in love with the w211 mercedeses, and I hope my next car will be the w211 e55 :)) They are about $35k - $40k where I live tho....

I just bought a 2003 W211 E500 Avantgarde. With the original M113 5 litre, 5 speed. Had a custom 2.5inch cat-back exhaust put in, and the car is just beautiful. It's just crossed into that classic look, and now has a BIG, rich V8 sound.
I also have a W212 E550, which has great tech and drives amazingly, but the W211 is so much plusher with much better leather.

MB has no real leather but has MB-tex. W212 has better exterior lines and much less rust issues. Anyhow I'm going to drop the undercarriage covers of my W211 for repairing cracked covers with epoxy and spray bottom with a bit of lanolin as PM. Regards.
@whlawson5812 I agree that the W212 has better lines. I love how the 211 looks, but the W212 is one of the best looking cars on the road still. But I do prefer the interior of the 211. Fortunately I'm in Australia where we don't have a huge amount of rust issues.
I bought a 2005 8500 which I instantly fell in love with. Unfortunately within the first year I discovered an air leak in the front right balloon. To get another one what is expensive. But then I investigated purchasing high quality, High quality iron coil springs to replace the air on all fours. As it turned out, I found a mechanic that would do it, and I bought the parts, and I did it all for around $1800. Now I have a car that I never have to worry about having an air leak in the suspension. I still love it just as much, in fact I love it more, because I don't have to worry about ever having an air leak again.

Yes, it has the timing chain problem, but the car only cost me 2300 and the repair (timing chain + crash) will be about 2500. So it was more than worth it.

It is the best E class for sure. To me personally only c207 coupe based on the w212 beats w211 in terms of looks but not in quality and realbility. Also the w211 was the last E class to have the bulletproof oldschool mercedes engines.

I am thinking of swapping my 2006 W211 for a C207 E250 of year 2012 - sometime in 2025. Will take a slow approach so not to end up with a lemon.
How is NVH, touch points, seat comfort, built quality of a C207 vs an W211?. A 2012 C-207 should be better than a 2012 C-200 in these parameters?. Or about the same. 😂😂😂
By 2009 Mercedes already decoupled from Chrysler. By 2012 Mercedes quality should be much better?. I drive not more than 90mph in the highway and most of the time with only a total of two on board so low hp is not an issue. Regards

it feels like its just left the factory, and the V6 is like driving a V8...it sounds grumpl and mad, but it's just fast, and really smooth on the road (not air suspension)
Great info, superb video, thank you! But awful that it's become even possible--really, a Chinese Mercedes? One reason I chose the W211 E350 (after owning a W124 300E) was that it was still made at the main factory in Sindelfingen. Another reason I chose the big M272 V6 /E350 was that few were ever optioned with air suspension--and the AvantGarde E350 is fitted with lowered sport steel suspension from the factory. I thought the V6 E350 with sport suspension a great compromise. I'm the second owner and it took several years of regular 6-monthly servicing before the car was returned to an excellent mechanical state throughout.

I did find one closer to me I can go to see but I like the other one better 😭. I’m wondering your opinion between a 07 W211 E550 4matic with 76,000 miles or a 06 CLS500 W219 with 30,000 miles only, black on black. I wanted to upgrade to 4matic & a E550 would be faster & nice to have 4matic for winter snow, rain & in general but the W219 CLS is so clean & such low miles ! Both around $10k. I watched your video of W219 CLS lastnight again & I heard you saw CLS W219 is more sporty than W211. I cannot decide between the two honesty it is such a complicated discussion ! Please help 🙏🏼

First taste I got of Mercedes was when I went to Germany for a school trip when I was in HS as a freshman & junior & both the Dads worked for Mercedes & drove one & road on the Autobahn w/ them ! I finally got a ‘99 E430 W210 in 2021 w/ 100k miles for $5k I loved it. Hit a pole w/ it sadly drifting in snow but still drove like a tank after that. Right now I have a 06 S430 its got 128k miles, got it at 110k for $7.9k same color scheme as my w210 gold paint w/ tan guts but I have a java brown steering wheel bc when I got it the wheel was beat. Ive put more than I paid into it on maintenance to keep it up top. I have a gold star emblem bc it didn’t come w/ one. I actually just paid for a 07 e550 4matic w211 $13k in another state it’s got 76k miles in Seattle WA still gotta get it shipped, I can’t wait, keeping my car now too, using e550 for winter. Got one inspected in TN it was a lemon then this 1 & it checks out, so hard to find so I got it. I found a 04 e500 4matic in FL too after & it has 48k miles they want $9.9k & it’s overpriced but so clean. Car Wizard on YT has a vid saying those engines are bulletproof earlier yrs & 07-09 e550 can have pricy timing chain probs so but it’s faster & it cost to be a boss u feel me. But I hope u r enjoying your car man ! Congrats. My friend had(s) a 09 white e350 4matic for yrs now & it’s been good to him 4 the longest but jus tried to go cheap 4 a fix w/ sum guy he knows & now is screwed but those are amazing cars ! @@businessmeetings5807. I have the same and did an 09 facelift convertion. The facelift bumpers fit perfectly and can be had online or at the junkyard. The car looks so much better. 234K on the clock and still running smooth.
I'm actually confused about which to buy! There are two offers for me 2001 e430 V8 in a very good condition or a 2009 e350 also good condition but the newer one is like 1500$ more. which one will you chose? Recommend.
Pick the newer one by 8 years & just for just an extra $1500. No brainier for me if I had to buy one of these two.

Ive just got my late 02/03 e320 Avangarde from a scrap yard in great condition, currently has around 280,000km (170,000miles), it has nothing wrong with it engine wise body is amazing also besides a small dent in the drivers side door, I've given it a general service including new tyres and brakes ive also paid for a professional detail on the exterior and interior, and man does it feel and look like a brand new car such high quality!

True. But I still like the bigger W212 better. W211 rides like a small car to me. But W211 have better driver seat. Interior, the buttons are better than W212. The wood finish does not fade like W212. The map screen is low in W211 it becomes dangerous to use. And yes both run like the devil.

I have a E350 bluetec W212. I love it but I feel the W211 drives better and more like a bigger car. The W211 is smoother, quieter and drives better over bumps. It's the one thing I don't like about my W212....the ride. Because my friends W211 E350 rides smoother and softer for me which I prefer.

I have a 2007 e320 w211 with AMG kit, had it for the last 8 years will not let go of it as I am in actual love with it, no major problems whatsoever since owning, it is so smooth and beautiful to drive and the power from the V6 is just right.

I was looking at w211 e55 but decided to go with w210 e55. I had a 2004 e55, very fast 💨 car lol. Love your videos. Do some of you fixing some parts for w210.

I used to own a w210 and it was quite an amazing piece of machinery. I loved the fact that the washer fluid was heated by the engine coolant through a coil in the reservoir which was quite a great feature in winter.
However the late W210 which I owned had an issue with corrosion. I had to sell it. Sure, the C Class and the W211 had it too but only till 2004. The ones that came in 2005 and later, didn't had this issue. If you're searching for a good and tank like daily, try finding the 220 CDI or the more powerful 320 CDI.
When it comes to AMG, choose the less powerful version of it (I believe it was E55 AMG) and for the gasoline versions, the E320 is great, especially if you equip it with a LPG Gas installation.
Also if you manage to get one, choose the business version. It has air adjustable seats with vibration motors, Airmatic that's easier to service than the one in W220 and it has some extra features like my friend has one with factory refrigerator in the back seat row

Why is your steering wheel gigantic?
I bought a 2006 E350 about a year and a half ago. I prefer to stay away from the air suspension completely. One key to buying a good 211 is exactly as you said, make sure it's been well maintained, that way you can be assured that issues like the idler pulley and balance shaft have already been taken care of. I believe the SBC brakes are underrated as far as feel. I'm lucky to live in the US where MB has a 25 year warranty on the SBC from date of purchase, so there's some peace of mind there as well.

@@smelmybut Sensotronic Braking. It was one of the first brake by wire systems where there's no actual physical connection between the brake pedal and the brakes themselves. It's all electronic/computer driven.

My 2006 w211 e350 4matic estate wagon was built in Austria it has about 159,000 miles on it.
I just got a few errors codes that it needs a couple of sensors (not to expensive) but another code popped up related to possibly a stretched timing chain. The chain looks ok but it does have nearly 160k miles. Would it be prudent to change out the timing chain and tensioners along with the 2 sensor needed since they don't last more than 150k or so?
@@smelmybut I would definitely at least have the timing chain and tensioners looked at. 160k miles is right about where issues with the timing chain can start, so I would 100% get it checked if you're getting codes that are possibly related. If the timing chain skips it can brick the motor, so definitely get out in front of that.

but many problem first biggest problem is SBC 2 probleme electricity problem

Me also . 220 Cdi from 2004, new. Lots of brake problems, bushes, oil leaks , ac, starter motor, but good engine and automatic transmission. Around 597000km now.
@@joaodantas8530bloody hell! It had done nearly 600,000km!. You already had gotten back it's roi in spades compared to 98% of other W211 owners.
@@whlawson5812 may be it’s the oil... I use liqui molly 10w60. The engine is perfect. As the gearbox. But as I told you some other parts go rather fast. And some parts now are hard to find. Like some interior trim.
