    Wow that is quite good. I like the floor plan. haha So the moment you create the material out of the PNG the UVs are scaled based on the dimension of the PNG as long as the plane mesh is adequate? May I suggest doing more videos like this, using the UE5s tools like procedural mesh tools creating realtime procedural meshes that can be molded easily, procedural bevels, procedural floors, booleans, etc to create archviz. This was great! Very informative. Just an FYI, the release version of UE5 (not preview version) doesn't seem to have a Time of Day option after clicking New Project (at least it's like that for me). There is a Basic option which I chose which contains lighting and default landscape but no Player Start location. I'm really new to this whole game/level creation thing so it was very confusing for me but eventually I figured out most of what I need. Don't worry, it's not just your video. Pretty much everyone's videos with tutorials in UE5 blasts through the level setup steps and jump right into the content creation portion with the assumption that all the options shown are available and hasn't been altered between preview version and release version. Lastly, it would be great if you could extend this video or make another one specifically on how to add staircases. I'm trying to model my own house and we have 2 levels and stairs that turn back on themselves with the upper section floating (walkway underneath).

    Hey thank you for this tutorial I can tell your used to moving a million times faster than this .. 1 small criticism I have is like when you said “now rotate” since I’m legit fresh just got the program it took me rewatching that part like 5 times to see where u clicked
    So my small constructive criticism is could you say where your clicking or if your using a hot key, I know it’s hard cause your probably so used to just muscle memory doing it I fully understand that cause I’ve taught ppl to drive and I’ve had to adapt to doing the same thing haha ..
    But yeah other than that great tutorial for ppl like me who want to world build / understand the basics of making a floor plan ❤
    I’m hoping to build a shopping Center/ mall for a game world but I havnt built anything in a digital space since action script 4.0 was brand new so about 10 years ago hahaha 😅 a loooot has changed and with programs like this it looks to be so much easier and more visual rather than code based which is great 👌

      @BuvesaGameDevelopment  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am not familiar with Sketchup. But if i have different objects in Blender, they show up as different objects inside of the content browser. If it's one giant piece, then it's also in 1 piece in UE. Best to test this out.

    Hi!! Is it you need to built the house with using modular walls one by one instead of scaling it into bigger one, because texture will be stretched??
    Do you know how the easiest way to not make it stretched (other than editing the UV) after scaling the walls?? Thanks!!

    • @BuvesaGameDevelopment
      @BuvesaGameDevelopment  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, when using modular walls to build a house, it's important to create each wall individually instead of scaling them up or down. Scaling the walls can cause the texture to stretch, which can result in a poor visual quality of the final product.
      There are several ways to avoid texture stretching when scaling walls:
      Use tiling textures: These are textures that can be repeated seamlessly without any visible seams or stretching. When using tiling textures, you can scale the walls without worrying about stretching the texture.
      Use procedural textures: Procedural textures are generated mathematically and can be adjusted to fit any size or shape without losing quality. They're ideal for creating repetitive patterns or textures.
      Use texture projection techniques: You can use texture projection techniques to apply the texture to the surface of the wall based on its shape and size. This can be done using software tools like Substance Painter or Blender.
      Create custom textures: If none of the above methods work, you can create custom textures that are designed to fit the exact size and shape of the wall. This can be time-consuming, but it will ensure that the texture is not stretched when the wall is scaled.

    • @BuvesaGameDevelopment
      @BuvesaGameDevelopment  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can look into vertex/mesh painting or cheat and duplicate the wall so you have 2 different ones, which look one together :)

  • @EdwardRatliff
    @EdwardRatliff 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I want to see you scale the materials that you apply. So like if the brick you put on was the wrong size how to change it.

    • @BuvesaGameDevelopment
      @BuvesaGameDevelopment  2 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @CryptoNightshade
      @CryptoNightshade 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BuvesaGameDevelopment I get confused because when you use Quixel materials there is no way to manipulate the nodes it seems like it’s just a material instance so there’s no way to adjust the brick texture shape and size. But since I am a complete noob maybe I’m wrong. It Would really help if you made a tutorial where u modeled a four wall house with a roof and applied quixel brick pattern materials to it etc

    Hello By disabling the snapping to grid, how can one be sure the walls are EXACT aligned the floors? In Architecture one can't just do it visually. Maybe in Games it's OK. But I want to create a REAL BUILDING. So what setting do I leave the snapping to grid? I work in cm ok that I do. Do you suggest to make it to 1 cm? • @BuvesaGameDevelopment
      @BuvesaGameDevelopment  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Blender - UE5 is a 100x difference because UE is in centimeters. So you can transfer between both software. In UE5 you can see how long your wall is and apply your scale that way. So this wall on the picture could be 8 meters but my wall is 4 meters -> i could drag out 2 walls and scale the material plane to that size for example

    • @ianludwig6382

    I've been studying Unreal for some time now and I get the feeling that the developers of this engine are fundamentally against neatness and even fitting of elements to each other in the scene. Why is the level designer forced to MANUALLY place these walls?
    Where is the adequate snapping system? The existing one cannot work with the geometry of objects, only with their pivot point. All 3D modeling packages have a basic snapping system, but for some reason it is not in the game engine, which is now being promoted and advertised from every angle as the best solution for game developers. If I were developing a game, I would be annoyed by having to do some basic things so slowly and manually.
