If he is alone maybe have a chance that he just runs away for help rather than fight. I wish stealth games were realistic..

I felt like the built in AI perception in UE was a bit too limiting in terms of customisation and you can't change perception that much during runtime, so I built my own perception system. It took a few months but it was worth it. But if you just want it to be sort of "on/off" like this, the UE's own is quite good and easy to use.
The built in perception system is indeed just meant as a base to get you started, but then you should add a whole bunch of layers of abstraction on top of it to build something custom and complex, but as a base, it is pretty good.
He should have pulled out a katana and said, "NIIINJA!" or put on some ebony armor and said "You never should have come here!" in a deep orc like voice.
I wish just once a stealth game would make the AI look around for someone quick after they see nobody is at where they heard a noise. Don't get to the noise location, look at the wall for 10 seconds, then go back to the start point. How about get to the noise source, immediately see nothing is there then continue swiftly continue ahead to check around the corner as if they're actually looking for an intruder. Only then should it give up and go back to the start position. Doesn't matter how big or small a game Dev studio is they always make guards in stealth games so boring and predictable, like the least AI rules they can possibly do. And they always have them look very slow, I want to Hunted

That's because I have the "Sight radius" (how far the enemy can see) set to a very low amount, so basically he can't see more than 2 meters infront of him 😅 (for testing purposes)
It's a great time to start, unreal is becoming more and more powerful and beginner friendly. Once you get the hang of the engine a bit, checkout my tutorials, you'll find something useful I'm sure ;)
