    I have a Phd in chemistry and have used both flash chromatography and hplc and still learned a lot from this video thank you!

    Thank you for the content, v useful for brushing up. Just a small correction if anyone else is confused. ~ 30:45 mark looks to be a fronting peak

    Thank you for your educational videos!
    Could you consider talking about pressure feedback in one of your future videos?

    • @ChemComplete
      @ChemComplete  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In general pressure feedback means a column issue. If pressure is too high it is often a result of columns with too much residual material build up (older columns) or a mismatched column (pore size too small creating back flow issues). Some solvents can also cause issues, especially if they are viscous and thicker.

    can you please make a video on ''reading chromatograms'' and calculations based on different results.... etc

    These are really good, can you do a video series on Gas Chromatography?

    • @ChemComplete
      @ChemComplete  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have an intro GC video already but it is oriented more towards undergrad labs and lab report writing. Down the road I can consider a more formal series like this. GC will follow the same general premise but you will be looking at gases carrying analytes instead of liquids.

    Why are the C18/C8/C4 columns the most common alkyl groups? e.g., why aren't C17 or C9 or C5 columns as common?

    Thank you for the great video! Does the lack of end-capping cause tailing or fronting in the peaks obtained? :)

    Hi sir,is there any expiration date for Hplc columns?
    Thank you sir.

    • @ChemComplete
      @ChemComplete  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If factory new and packed not usually. Most columns (especially c18) tend to be fairly stable. However is a column is open its lifetime can vary by many factors and does not guarantee a given number of runs. What you are separating, solvent choices, and proper column maintenance (not leaving water in columns for extended periods) are all important.

      Some columns for SEC analysis from General Electric do have a Best before date. Specially for columns that can be kept on the fridge.
