I used to not want a leadership position when I started working in a grocery store deli. I have worked for the first time in a decade. I started listening to Jocko to help with my PTSD (medic in the Army) and now I am working again when everyone else including the VA said I couldn't. And now I am motivated and want to be in a leadership position in the profession I chose which is related to my families profession. I want to be a leader. Between me wanting to be better than myself, being as good as my assistant manager and surpassing her, better than my father who was the best butcher I have ever met and the best man (although he says the same about me.) I have ever known. I didn't have purpose or motivation before three years ago when I discovered the Jocko Podcast. Thank you Jocko Willink for being the guy who amped me up. Who encourages me every day to do better. For showing me the light at the end of the tunnel. And being the influence in my life that helped me the most. I promise not to let you down. I am going to be the best lunch meat slicer in the US. I survived Army Basic Training, I survived medic AIT, I survived OIF, I can do anything. Jocko helped me realize this. Thank you sir for helping me find the strength in myself to walk towards my goals.

So it just didn't occur to you guys to have Leif on again? People love seeing him on the podcast. I'm sure there are new questions, principles and books to go over with him. And what about Kevin Lacz, he's the longest requested guest who hasn't made an appearance yet.

It wasn't my own brilliance; it was the "passed on wisdoms" of those who went before. It is not stealing Jocko... it is DUTY. It is our DUTY to future generations of warriors, to pass on the spiritual lessons learned. It is our DUTY to pass on the wisdoms given to Us, that have blessed our lives.

IN the army, the NCO creed states, "I will not use my position or grade to attain pleasure, profit or personal safety." This podcast reminded me alot of what the NCO creed says, you should check it out sometime and maybe speak with an awesome NCO one day. At the 36 minute mark they talk about the delineation from prioritize and execute because the book mentions a good commander being able to multi-task. but I think prioritize and execute is how you multi-task. Prioritize which are most urgent and require the most focus, as well as which ones can wait and for how long or if you can pair it with another task to knock out at the same time. Just my 2¢
If you are speaking of Elliott Miller, this army guy who worked with him in 2004 would love to hear his story on this podcast .... now that I have learned of his hardships after that tour in 2004.

This book definitely needs to be republished. So many good lessons. Yes it says what Jocko already talks about but it gives a different angle on it. Having more than one angle or view on an objective is always a plus.

Washington finds out somehow when Von Steuben completes the task that he LIED about most of what he had claimed and had never climbed higher than the rank of Captain in the Prussian Army. Washington didnt care and promoted him to Major General anyway.
