Beautiful winter scenery in Minnesota, nothing like it! One thing people don't realize is that the work load you have to put in to have an off-grid home. You showed how much work you have to put in and it is day after day. Have a wonderful holiday season!
It’s great! My shed has been completed and it turned out nice looking and sturdy and it is way better than the sheds that many of my neighbors had put up. Of course, I'm pleased with the outcome and this Ryan’s th-cam.com/users/postUgkxGZedDTcDfgD7fG_uU4esfx_EgxzlY2_1 Plans was extremely useful to me as a guide.
Just love skeeter bouncing around so much fun for dogs,I live where it doesn’t snow in my town but I do love it I miss the snow I left the uk 43 years ago and still miss the snow.
Watching Skeeter in the snow just brings me joy. He is such a happy boy. I could sit in the cabin by the fire for weeks with a stack of books and some warm drinks. So cozy! That lifestyle requires a lot of work, but it's so rewarding. Beautiful world you live in!
I use to live like that so many years ago ,I'm to old now to keep up with daily chores that are necessary for comfort and survival. I loved it living in the mountains. So peaceful and lived in beautiful country . When it snowed it was so quiet and it was like the snow was whispering. Thank you God for letting me experience such wonder.
What a beautifully lovely scene of God's nature ❤️ you have shown us. Thank you so much. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your loved ones.
Kyles to do list for next summer, add a roof over the front deck, build a wood shed, and cut more fire wood. Cool intro with the striking match! Beautiful country and cabin, thanks for sharing.
STUNNING!!! You are truly blessed. Hats off to you and Cierra but most of all "THANK YOU" for sharing such beauty with us. Keep up the beautiful work. Stay safe, keep warm and BLESSINGS!!
I will be 70 this coming March 2023 and watching you work brings back so many great memories of my younger days when I too kept wood in the house and pulled firewood on one of my Daughters sleds before I had a snowmobile to do the work. I also had a pair of those white Mickey Mouse Boots. I still burn wood during the day mostly and turn on the pellet stove at night in case I decide to sleep in a little after all I am retired but as I have to constantly remind the wife, (I'm not dead yet) I still like to do the manual labor. I say to you young man to enjoy these wonderful days because they pass so quickly and you won't realize it's happened.
Your doggie is loving that snow! And your cat seems to enjoy it too. Stunning scenery! But a lot of work when it snows that much. Thank you for sharing.
@@secretnewmeta1981So true. Especially with the price of building materials these days. You’ll need tens of thousands at least even after you purchase the land.
Me as well. Hopefully will find land in the next few years up north, with good timber, local water source, and public land close for hunting and/or trapping fur.
Looks beautiful while I’m sitting here in the southwest U.S. Great ambiance inside a cozy cabin in front of a roaring fire. Going outside and dealing with it is another thing. Been there done that. Thanks for sharing.
Wow so beautiful with all the snow on the trees. Kudos to you man for all the hardwork thats Involved with maintaining the great outdoors Bye now from Florida
Love to see the cabin and homestead with a beautiful blanket of snow. I'm sure those younger trees definitely appreciated your assistance! Keep it up, amigo, I love to see everything you put out.
I am. Also in MN. And have heard it is best to leave the trees alone. The ice then snow does less damage than the possible breaks a person causes. Who knows, I too sometimes do the same. Two days ago from the same storm maybe.
@@jayheinrich5207 I hadn't known that! Interesting stuff, that, I can see the logic there. Food for tonight, certainly. I find myself feeling sorry for the little guys seeing them all bowed over, though. It'll take some resisting to avoid doing that in the future! Thanks for the info, friend!
@@MelSogo who knows but my bet is it depends on the species etc.. I have seen the tops of trees touching the ground like an upside down “U”. The red cedars, birch’s, red & white pines (young) etc survive. I did gently shake two red cedars two days ago from probably the same storm. Just east of His place near Lake Superior got lake effect snow and really got up to twice the amount of snow. Our snow belt…. I wish you all a great season, enjoy your adventure! Go Vikes😳, SKOL
The snow is beautiful! Btw, when it packs onto the trees, it acts as an insulator. It keeps the wind chill off them. Speaking of a chill, your wood stove is doing a fine job! ❤
The older you get the more you love rain. Rain is self shoveling. I remember snow in Sudbury and further north to our camp. We saw many meters of snow ❄️ in some winters. I remember as a kid getting 60, 90 maybe even 100cm a d then the wind drifting the snow...drifts were 3 to 4 meters back in the 60s and 70s. Sudbury, Timmons, Chapleau.
I'm 67 and retired. I ran a Lawn Care Landscaping Company for a lot of years, and a Snow Removal in the winter, I can say with a high degree of confidence that you should have been removing the snow the day before when it was at 6 inches, and then again the next day with the 8 in. The snow underneath was compressed by the fresh snow on top, thus making it more difficult the move . It would save a Lot of wear and tear on You and the Machine. Fresh snow always blows a lot smoother then day old set snow. You don't actually use much more fuel as the engine is under a much lighter load and the job also goes faster then the Big Struggle ... Some Old Coots opinion and advice to a Young Fella, carrying the torch forward ... Nice place brother ... Very Nice .. :) ... "Edit" .. I subbed .. cant wait to see more posts .. :)
Oklahoma here!! Enjoying your videos!! Absolute an beautiful winter wonderland pucture!!! Your Dog cracks me up the way he buries his head in the snow!! 🤣. His butt sticking up out of snow was hilariously!! Love it!! Andddd oh the kitty thanks daddy for snow blowing a path for him/her!!❤️.
