John Grisham, of "The Firm" and "Pelican Brief" fame, wrote a nothing book called "The Painted House" or some such. The book is about some kid that goes to live with family in rural Missouri or some place. There's a fight scene in the book between a local townie tough guy bully and a hispanic farm migrant immigrant. The tough guy is all tough until both draw knives. Within 60 seconds of feints and thrusts, the townie knows he's overmatched in a knife fight, but he can't figure out how to disengage. There's a very real and very sad description of fear in the townie's thoughts that Grisham describes. I mention it because you don't see it here. The spoiled rich kid never seems to realize he is overmatched.
The irony is the rich kid goes on how he overmatched the rhino as analogy to how he feels superior to Reacher, when in reality the total reverse is true. He is the rhino.
Thank you for excluding Reacher's shooting in this scene, that was horrendous writing. The first Reacher movie may not be accurate to the books, but that final fight was much more satisfying

When you try to square up to somebody built like Reacher, and you have to look up to see his head, and his biceps are as big around as your torso---you REALLY need to reconsider your stance.
yeah, when the enemy is bigger you have to get in close and attack sensitive points, such as the "funny bone", in the elbow, and it aint funny when you hit it, i hit myself twice there with nunchukus, both times it dropped me to my knees, feel on your elbow for a little caved in area at the point, not the bend(anticubital fossa if i recall) where nurses like to draw blood from but the pointy end, flick the right area with your fingers or tap it with a butter knife handle, and you will feel a shock go down your arm to your last 2 fingers, THAT is a sensitive place and it can take a fight outa someone.
Pampered lifestyle + buckets full of money = inflated ego. He thought just because he had an expensive looking rifle and money on his side, that he was untouchable. Which explains why he was a god damn moron XD
If I didn't know about all the other terrible things this guy did to people in the show, the fact that this self righteous schmuck killed a rhino would be enough justification to me for him to go down like that.

Loved the show & he's great as Reacher but my only complaint is that these normal & less than normal sized guys look at that mountain of a man & take no pause at messing with him. Many dudes in the show just talk to him like, "yea I'm going to kick your ass" to a 6' 5" 300 lbs monster. That was my only complaint in the show. Kinda worked in the movies cause Tom Cruise isn't 6'5" but in the show, the guy is HUGE!
As for this scene, its described earlier that the kid is a psychotic mess. So him not grasping the concept he can lose a fight can be realistic, EVERYONE ELSE is full of shit. You see a guy that size regardless of the situation you take fucking notice, even if its just at the movies or something. There's human instinct that kicks in, you know this dude could literally end everything if he chose to. Nothing you can do. You fucking run haha.

Do they have the capability to harm, the ability to, and what is their intent(the hardest of course to figure out)? Reacher just EXISTING covers the first two, even if he was 30 feet away from me. Dont know the show, but the warehouse where they fight seems to be for fertilizer and other such niceties, it's probable the tank where the rich got dunked into had some sort of flammable liquid related to that end, since the fire spread like if he was doused with gasoline
