Honestly, the question is who is going to try to pull "officer bar" and act like that against an entire unit of MPs. Each and every one of the people the drunks are trying to square off on are Military Police... That's what makes the scene questionable. It's like if a bunch of drunks were to try to bully an entire table full of cops in uniform at a "normal" bar.
The scene didn't depict clueless drunk military personal going against MPs... It showed that those particular set of Military Personnels were a bunch of egotistical hardasses... I guess it was their "customary tradition" to visit that bar on some days, and Reacher knew, and took advantage of that... Its basically like some units insisting on being the first to do Halo jumps or getting upper bunks in barracks... They were drunk more on their egos than actual booze, and reacher was correct in using that opportunity to bond his own diverse team into 1 single unit... I doubt any other socializing exercise would have given such fast and promising results... Similar to what training instructors do to make the entire squad hate them, and unite as a whole just to bad mouth the instructor but then form a cohesive team...

Other actors speak very well of him, and in a tough business, that means something. But he isn’t Reacher, and we all know it. Alan Ritchson has claimed the role, and I honestly can’t think of a better guy to do it.
Little Tommy Cruise is a hack who is unable to get out of his own skin so all one ever sees is little Tommy pretending to play a character rather than being the character.

I am a voracious reader, and I must say the reacher books are some of the best and most educational books (from a woman's point of view especially in todays climate) I have ever read. I highly recommend reading them. The series is also bloody excellent.
I love this show and Alan Ritchson is the perfect Reacher. And to think he was almost Thor in the MCU, losing out at the very end to Chris Helmsworth. I’m glad he didn’t get that role, if he had we wouldn’t have the perfect Reacher.

Rarely ever does a character improve, immensely, going from a movie to a TV series, but this one did. Sorry Tom, but Alan is a superior Jack Reacher.
Tommy Cruise looks like one of Santas little helpers compared to Ritchson who is by far a way better actor.
