I did received my stimulus but not my kids $500 . I am a non filer and Noone claims my kids .
this seems to be a common trend sadly... The kid credits are missing. They are also missing for some tax filers!
They sent me a paper check to the wrong address (old out of state address I no longer stay at). I can't contact anyone there. I got on the post office website and paid to have my mail forwarded. Then I read some post office won't forward government mail. I am also afraid that it may have been stolen in mail.
What can I do in my situation?

@@MillennialFinance101 next year is an awfully long time to wait for a stimulus check that I need now. I needed it 2/3 months ago. The IRS should fire the ass wipe who made their "get my payment" tool. because if that would have worked right to begin with then myself and many others wouldn't be having this problem.

The IRS had a form to fill out months ago for non-filers with dependant children. I filled that out months ago and they sent me my stimulus but nothing for my dependant child. He is also on SSI but I did not get anything. I can't find an answer to what might have happened.
It seems like a common trend that the children aren't being counted for some reason. Your best bet is to file a return next year to claim them.
I got the $1200 but haven’t received the additional $500 for my four year old yet.

I used the non filer tool on April 13 I accidentally clicked the box where it says someone can claim me and I have yet to revive a check. I changed it yesterday but now I’m thinking it may be too late because the IRS accepted my return but I’ve never received anything after that

Dhunkar Lhamo since you were a dependent, you wouldn’t qualify for the $1200. What you can do is just file your own return next year so you get the $1200 and tell your daughters father to not claim you on 2020 taxes

Hi! How do i fix this issue sir. We Filed jointly for 2020. With 1 independent. One of us received edd. Our AGI all together was $158k on our 2020tax year. So our 3rd stimulus check being phased out, we only received $350.
But after filing the 2020 income tax. There was an edd $10,200 tax free. So we went back to our CPA and he amended this for us. So now our AGI was changed to $148k which we should have been qualify for the full amount of stimulus check.
How can we address this to IRS for us to get the missing part of the 3rd stimulus check? Thanks for your help!
The irs specifically said not to do an amended return and that will fix it on their side. The fix only relates to the taxes paid on the 10200, not the taxable income or AGI as far as I know. So your agi should have been the same regardless, just owe less tax. One way you can lower your agi is by contributing to a traditional ira if you qualify.

Next year? We need it now. They need to give us what we deserve . Oh but if we owed taxes they will hunt us down and make sure we pay up . How do we bring this situation to light? The only reason they took this money out wasd for the 2020 pandemic so where is all that money going if we all haven't received our 500 for dependents now? sadly you will have to wait til yuou file next year to get that additional $500. I'm not sure the IRS will be sending out more checks or additional amounts.

I am writing to you because I have yet to receive my $1200 stimulus check and I do not know who else to contact for any information in regards to obtaining it in a timely manner and I came across your videos.
I am a 2nd year medical student (25 years old) and I let my mother claim me as a dependent on her 2018 taxes. However, I filed my 2019 taxes as Independent in early April 2020. Every time I check the IRS page about my stimulus check status, it just says that my status is "unavailable" which is less than helpful.
I suspect that being claimed as a dependent in 2018 is delaying my stimulus check even though I filed as independent for my 2019 taxes. Could this be the reason for the delay?
Any advice on whether I will get the stimulus check/how to get it in a timely manner would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
According to the IRS, they should be using your 2019 return. Did you have bank information in your 2019 return and do e-file? Worse case, you will have to file a 2020 return next year to get your stimulus.

You won't get it this year unfortunately. It seems the IRS has screwed up somehow. You'll need to file a return next year to claim these $500 credits.

will my child receive any stimulus check? it's just me and him he is 16 , but we are both on SSI. I did however receive a $1,200 payment last time but no $500 for child they said he didn't qualify since he receives SSI also, so will he get one this time or not? If you file your taxes, your child should be eligible for $500 additional on top of the $2000 for the standard child credit

Konspiracy Kitty you’ll want to file a return even if you have no income. That’s the only way to get these credits

Trying to find out why I didn’t get mine. Filed 2018 and paid ( which the IRS sure didn’t have a problem taking my monthly payment plan) but I haven’t filed 2019.

OK so I’m a little confused I receive my stimulus money via direct deposit and I have a five-year-old son which I got the money for him but I also just had a daughter January 27, 2020 so I assumed I wasn’t going to get the $500 for her because she wasn’t on my taxes yet. so does that mean The IRS will give me the $500 next year when I file my taxes and what happens if they do another stimulus around will that also be on my taxes return next year???

@@Mamasgodlychats i think the problem is even though you have those kids, you technically may not end up claiming them. Let's say you weren't married and the other parent claimed them. It could lead to double dipping or fraud. The only known truth is through filed taxes with the IRS as they would prevent you from double claiming a single child. Just my thoughts.
My daughter's on disability does she qualify for the 500 child stimulus it wasn't included in mine and I apply for it?
if she's under 17, she should have qualified you for $500 additional.

It's not clear what to do when the amount isn't correct. It seems to be a common trend that the non filers aren't getting their child $500. If you look through my comments, you'll see you are not alone in this.

I'm on SSI and I filed the Non Filer on April 12th and added my dependents and they didn't account them into my payment. My payment is pending in my account 🤦♀️
Qween B. Most likely they went off your SSI info. I’m not sure if children were accounted going the SSI route. Wait for your letter to see if you can fix it otherwise you might have to wait until next year to claim your kids!

I got stimulus payment for 1200 dollars myself only.. I didn’t get stimulus payment 500 dollars for my children under 16 years old. I am very disappointed. I claimed my children as dependents in my 2019 taxes , too. Even then, I haven’t received stimulus payment for my children. I registered through TurboTax stimulus registration portal because I am not required to file taxes due to low income. Please suggest me how can claim for my children from IRS

I received my 1200 dollars but I didn't get the 500/child ( I have three children under 16) . I checked with their father and he didn't get the amount for any of them either. I've filed through Turbotax for the past 4 years so I'm unsure of why and of course reaching the IRS is like trying to find a missing sock out of the dryer.
