    • @myivyfindstore
      @myivyfindstore 4 ปีที่แล้ว +76

They don't teach doctors how to adhere to African/Black Skin types. They are mostly taught about fair skin and how to treat those types. Which makes it difficult to answer questions with a patient who wants to know more about the treatment for dark skin, they literally have no way to medically answer that.

I am a woman who never learned how to properly care for her parts until this angel came along. I used to think that my 'self cleaning oven' was broken because of medical issues I was born with. I was suffering with monthly, if not weekly, bladder infections (have been since I was a child) and now I know that it was my over-zealous 'care' that was perpetuating my issues. And now I find out that I am removing my hair incorrectly too! Thank you, for educating me with dignity and compassion.

Yes. Omg. The pain after removing my public hair is the most uncomfortable ever. In my live (20y) i can count on one Hand if how many times i shaved fully in my Bikini Zone. The most i do is trimming for that part of the body. And when i go swimming i may shave the sides but it hurts like hell for days after. And i tried all these tips others give like trimming the hair beforehand, soaking, coco butter, various shaving techniques and nothing..NOTHING! Ever worked!

Recently, I have found that growing out my leg hair actually encourages the problem. I am a South African 🇿🇦 woman of color, with thick curly hair. I live in South Korea 🇰🇷. During winter months, I suffer severely from ingrown hair on my legs because I must wear many layers of clothes that sit close to my skin in order to insulate from extremely cold temperatures. I allow my hair to grow out on winter months because shaving it off dries my skin out but the friction and tightness of my pants/thermals, directs my leg hair back into my skin. How can I remedy this issue?

i really hope this video will help a lot of girls to not do the same mistakes i did in the past. my skin is very very pale but i've always had dark and thick hairs all over my body and i have curly hair so that's definitely why i'm prone to ingrown hairs. growing up i always felt ashamed of my body, thinking that there was something wrong with me. for many years i got rid of my hairs and treated my skin wrongly until i got to the point where my skin got very sensitive and my legs are now covered in red and ugly scars. it took me months and many mistakes to gather all the information and tips that are listed in this video. i started doing laser hair removal, i'm learning to treat my skin properly and i can definitely see some positive changes but i know my journey is still long. acceptance and love for your own body is definitely the first step you have to take to start the healing process. xx

I’m Irish, so my skin is very pale and sensitive, and ingrown hairs tend to be really red and painful for me. This video is so great, thank you

Doctor Simi, I have a request for a new topic❤️ how to reduce dark spots, blackheads on the T-zone of the face. Especially around the nose. Those spots also have hairs in them and they are so tiny that they can't be shaved or tweezed. How to remove them.. Tgank you ❤️

I had this problem as well. I used Aveeno Maxglow peel off max that is soft to the face. I only put it on my nose and it actually removed the blackheads and the hair. I was surprised.

I get the worst ingrowns ever. I use to shave, but started waxing and it’s a little better. With that said I always pick my ingrowns despite how much I try not to. One time I got out a really painful one that was literally an inch long.

Use Black soap whenever you use any type of hair removal method, it helps it will keep your pores clean and helps to keep your pores from turning dark or darker. EXFOLIATE like crazy, use BHA,s and AHA solutions. I use Ingrow Go solution. I also use salicylic acid soap which helps to exfoliate dead skin, decreasing the chance of ingrown hairs forming. I also let the soap sit on my skin for a long At least 10 mins and then rinse it off with Luke warm water, not hot. I used to get them really bad but EXFOLIATING, using black soap, salicylic acid solutions and soaps really helped to the point where I will get none or 1 or 2 ingrown hairs at a time. The key really is exfoliating, I usually do it 4-5 times a week and the days I don’t do it I use BHA it AHA solutions which I put on in the motioning and then when I’m going to bed. If you shave use new sharp razors or shaving creams but If you can use waxing and laser.

Lord I have both of these types of ingrowns, and they're on my chin/neck area 😭As a woman, this is not a good look. I've always told myself when I can save up enough money, I'll get laser hair removal. This video was so helpful. Thank you!

Can you explain why after shaving, more than one strand of hair starts to grow from one spot? I've noticed that anywhere I pass a razor on my skin like 3 or 4 hairs start to grow in the same spot afterward! I can never really find the answer to this and haven't heard other people talk about it before. Thanks for putting out these videos, they help me a lot!

My mom stopped from shaving for the same reason. Because she didnt have much hair but as she started shaving her hair got thicker and grows a lot. So waxing is better.

I'm a woman and I have had some issues with my hair on my face.
I wanted to tell you what an amazing job you did with this video.
If more doctors presented a problem, reaction, solution like you, the world would be a better place for patients.
You explain things clearly. You explain them to the point. You explain how to address the issue at hand and acknowledge that everyone is going to handle it differently.
I wanted to tell you how impressed I was with your video.
I have a feeling you represent what a patient wants in a doctor.
This is SO rare, therefore I want to make sure to get you the validation that you deserve.
    Thank you

After dealing with bumps for many years, I just trim my hairs with a pair of small sterilized scissors... Shaving and waxing just isn't for everyone.

Thank you for saying "stop shaving", because some doctors don't adress this possibility. I did a laser hair removal under my arm pit, I was too young to understand that I could try to fight society standarts, but I wasn't given the right question to ask myself to make a better decision. I didn't remove all hair, now a days I don't even remove them, I rather have bought a computer instead of doing somthing to please others.

This video is very helpful. I came here after self treating myself of a current ingrown hair 🤦🏾‍♀️
I truly believe in the power of just not treating the hair at all. There were plenty of time I left the areas alone and let the hair just be and everything was normal. Unfortunately, it’s summer and I’m going on vacation. I’m hoping to try waxing but during the fall winter months I’m definitely going back to not removing the hair.
