Thanks mate, we really appreciate that. This was one of those games that was an absolute joy to play and the outcome didn't matter. Pretty sure if we hadn't kept stopping every 15 minutes to take photos it would have been over 2 hours earlier 😅
Grreat game! Even with the dice being a bit one sided, it showed how a layered defensive position takes time to overcome .... your gallant troops traded space, and their lives, for time!
Thanks Martin & Miller, another fantastic game, really love these! Great looking table, love the rolling hills approaching Higham on the Hill. Well Done!👍
@@7thson726 looking forward to your next W.O.T.R game I will be viewing it fro. AFRICA. LAST sat we had a nice W.O.T.R game.e at the club did you see the photos. Mike tents to take plenty lol
Good names for the Killing Ground: the common, the Great Open Field, Furze Down... Really enjoying watching. Great scenario. I'll be making use of it. Thanks as ever.b
Absolutely fabulous game! I've been meaning to ask how you clean up your table. I noticed you use gravel and dirt to add roads and terrain features. Do you vacuum up the gravel/dirt?
Thanks very much 👍 I simply brush it into a dustpan then put it through a sieve ready for reuse. I don't tend to clean the mat as it adds more texture 😁
Hi there. That's totally understandable but I would always encourage people to start and give it a go. Maybe just buy one box of miniatures, some of the basic paints and see how it goes. I did a basic step by step for how I did some ECW troops and one on the Cavalry - all fairly straightforward but they may assist th-cam.com/video/p3C7vZamvDo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=_xf6D9C9ClnGlkWX
Really pleased you enjoyed it buddy 😁👍 that's easy - Hail Caesar, definitely. I just think that while I enjoy them all, out the three , HC does the best job of being entertaining and being adaptable to the period you want to represent 👍
Not really, you would think that it would but to be honest I've never had a problem with it. I know some people do, but to me it's just something to factor in and work around 👍
I may have got this wrong, how did the Parliament cavalry manage to charge the Canon at around 39 minutes, if it was disordered? Perhaps it wasn't disordered?!
I think at the time we questioned if the charge would fail as it does in HC, but couldn't find it in the book so we just let the charge hot and applied the disordered modification 🤔
@7thson726 out of p&s, BP and hc, I'm most familiar with black powder rules. Pretty sure disordered troops can't charge, but now I think of it, I don't have the second BP edition!
Thanks Martin & Miller, another fantastic game, really love these! Great looking table, love the rolling hills approaching Higham on the Hill. Well Done!👍
Loved every minute of this game. Thank you both for taking your time to put this together for us.

Nice one.. Good company, figures and above all... fun. How a Wargame should be...! 😊👍👍👍 For Parliament!!!

Cheers dude, pleased you liked it, it was great fun to play 😁
Great game lads. Always appreciate players in collaboration and not competition letting the game flow.
Thanks mate, really glad you enjoyed it. It's the best way to play, everyone walks away after contributing and it doesn't matter who won 👍
What a fantastic game. Made me want to paint more of my own ECW miniatures. Well done. As always, your battle reports are some of the best out there.
I really appreciate that thank you 🙂👍
Thanks for sharing your game, very enjoyable and proof that you don’t need a lot on the table for a good game.
Absolutely, I like to show other ways you can play 👍😁
Wonderful as ever guys. I loved watching this :)
Thanks mate, we had so much fun in this one. To be honest I almost enjoyed building the table as much as the game 😁
Great battle report and noce to see Miller's dice seem to have decided to give him some good rolls for once :)
Glad you enjoyed it mate - i have to say, i was a well dserved win for the puritans

Very enjoyable batrep on an excellent table.
The raw dirt around the earthworks was a next-level detail.
Glad you enjoyed it, I am a complete convert to using things like first and scatter 😁
Cracking game chaps. Millers dice was good for once!
Had to be eventually 😅
Thanks so much, keeps me motivated to paint my Pike and Shotte army!
Glad you enjoyed it 😁
Fantastic table and great game

Always a good game to watch 😊

Fun game, the scenario seemed to work well with the size of the forces and the table
We were really pleased with how it played out, glad you enjoyed it 👍
Great as always. Thanks.
No problem, glad you enjoyed it 👍
Super game. More Civil War please. 😊
Definitely 😁
Love that board!

great game guys thank you for putting it together and martin you and miller have got me into ECW now
We really appreciate it, thank you for watching 😁👍
Great battle despite the parliamentarians winning. The board looked great too.
Really appreciate it, was a great game 👍
Excellent game. Miller needed a win.
He certainly did 😅
Thanks!

Great game, very inspiring.
Glad you enjoyed it mate
Very good, looked a fun game
Thanks, we had a great time playing this one 👍
Gorgeous looking table and armies. V jealous.
Thanks very much, it was great fun to put on 👍
Hey great game. Im curious, where do you get your terrain? The base grassland you have down under everything, what kind of material is that?
Thanks very much. The mat is from a company called Wargamer, I'm not sure if they make them anymore though
I am interested in starting pike and shotte, but I have never painted miniatures before and I am worried about messing up. Should I just do it?

I just finished an infantry regiment and they look great!
Another enjoyable watch. looked like a fun game. If you had to choose, which would be your preference? - Hail Caesar, Pike and Shotte or Black Powder?
Really pleased you enjoyed it buddy 😁👍 that's easy - Hail Caesar, definitely. I just think that while I enjoy them all, out the three , HC does the best job of being entertaining and being adaptable to the period you want to represent 👍
Do you find that units being disordered from shooting disrupts the game flow too much?

@@7thson726 Did disorder change in black powder 2? With more firepower, I thought it might be a factor, I prefer the HC version where you test.
@@johnp4000 nah it's still the same. I prefer the HC version as well
