Fan theory: He was referring to the parallel world that Rose got stuck on. In the main universe she's "Saxon"/ sacked. Haha.
The Doctor was challenged in a vulnerable moment. He cut her off but the Doctor still spared her. Anyway, my thought was he knew something was wrong and put her in a position to help later. It's not likely but it's a fun thought. After all, he called Mickey, Ricky before they ever went to the parallel world.

In an interview that I saw with John Simm at the time he did these episodes, he said that his bonding time with his five-year-old son was watching Doctor Who together every weekend, since he worked long hours during the week and they didn’t always get to spend enough time with each other. When he was offered the part of The Master, one of the most exciting things to him was that he was going to get to impress his little boy.

"Mister Saxon" is an anagram of "Master no. six", in reference to John Simm's version being the sixth incarnation to be played on screen.

The "Perception Filter" concept that Doctor Who plays with for the Tardis, the Tardis keys and the chameleon arch fob watches is a fun idea for a sci-fi stealth mechanism.
Only surpassed, in my opinion, by a very similar one from the world of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - The S.E.P. Field, or Someone Else's Problem Field. I know some British people take exception with this episode, because the way they talk about the election more closely resembles an American election, which isn't how it works in Britain. Now I'm CANADIAN so I can't speak to the nuances of that, it's just a little baffling to me, because you'd expect that sort of thing from a show set in the UK but made in America, but Doctor Who is...not that lmao

Im old enough to remember when episodes were coming out in real time and last episode and this episode blew my mind on the cliffhangers and having to wait a week inbetween was absolutely nuts and mind boggling. How did i cope when i was a kid.
The first tease of Mr Saxon was in Love and Monsters on the paper the Absorbalorff was reading and seeing as that was the last episode of Series 2 filmed so i wonder if it was a last minute thing added and it could still fit within that 18 months timeframe. I do wonder what else falls into that timeframe. The Slitheen Episode is referenced by the master and thats suppose to be set a year after since the 9th Doctor says Rose has been gone a whole year. If every modern day episode is roughly set in the present year (unless said otherwise) these events could take place quite close

Is it wrong that even tho the master is crazy I have a big crush on the actor who plays him, John Simms and because I have a big crush on the actor I feel more sorry for the character rather than feel anger,
yes the master does horrific and bad things which is awful and I understand all the fans who feel anger towards the character and understand that its a traditional plot of good vs evil with Martha being the good and the master being the evil, but the master kinda reminds me of loki, he has the same emotional energy, smartness and the actor is just so damm hot.
I can't hate the character because I fan girl over the actor.
also I think this is the first modern series were the final that doesn't centre around the doctor,
the three part series final focus's more on
one Martha and the bad repercussions of traveling with the doctor and
two on the master as a character for modern watchers of new who with a back story a great plot-twist at the beginning of the episode and the layers of the masters characters as a hole,
because of this the doctor's character gets for me pushed out of the way a bit and I think that even tho David Tennent is a great actor, an amazing human being and always will be one of the best doctors ever,
I think John Simms (the master) having more screen time out shines David Tennent in acting ability on this one.
plus lastly I think the reason this episode keeps getting delayed is because of the general election here in England, and having an episode of doctor who shown with and evil prime minister the BBC probably doesn't want any references to real life right now.
