This is something you have really helped me with over the last couple of months. I finally realized I don’t HAVE to stick to one thing. If I wake up and want to dance..I dance. If I wanna lift weights.. I lift weights. If I wake up and want to do nothing.. that’s okay too! And I have been consistently working out for months now because of that and can see so much improvement in my life. I’m not seeing “results” but I know that will come in time. Right now I’m just proud of myself for sticking to it finally and making myself healthier and stronger. I actually enjoy working out now and wake up most days excited to be active. Thank you so much for your videos because they have really helped me so much!
improvement in your LIFE!! YES!!! i think you are seeing results - in your mood, your mindset, your mental health :) it all sounds like positive results to me!! ❤️🥲
I feel like I have such a perfectionist “all or nothing mindset” but I’m also lazy lmao so I constantly set myself up for failure, it’s always a good reminder that fitness should be fun and should add to your life, not consume it and make you feel guilty for not reaching impossibly high goals
you said it so perfectly :') i heard once that the all or nothing mindset relates back to ADHD, which i'm not sure if you struggle with it but i do myself, and it made a lot of sense to me when phrased that way because it helped me reframe my mindset just like how i would with other tasks in my life
I'm a former swimmer (yay injuries that makes you quit and hate your sport). I tried everything and nothing work. I'm back to the pool. Happier than ever. It's the only sport/fitness routine that I can stick to and I enjoy as long as it takes to see results. And I also found out that muscle memory is a real thing and God how good I feel.
ah gosh i totally know what you mean. i had a mean coach that made me hate my sport :( i’m so proud of you for getting back into it!! HECK YES MUSCLE MEMORY
You’re literally the light that people need, within the fitness community. There’s SO much information and it’s so overwhelming. I hear in order to lose weight I have to do Chloe ting Stair master Lift weights HIIT jump rope Etc ITS TOO MUCH! I get overwhelmed and then I don’t wanna do it anymore! Thank you SO much for just normalizing NORNAL life and mindsets. Not these unrealistic standards that we set for ourselves, based off what we see online.
i hate that feeling of being overwhelmed and i am often in the EXACT same position. it is endless! you are you and you deserve your own version of happiness!
Yes!!!! I have tried so many different fitness routines and have failed terribly. I’ve discovered dancing in my kitchen and kettlebell workouts are the best ones for me and so much fun!
I watch you and Janet because and you both have made me truly love my body and just live a healthier lifestyle whether its doing a small workout, going on a walk, drinking more water and just loving myself. Thank you so much for being open and honest!
One thing I always struggled with when it comes to fitness was the sense of obligation to smash an hour long workout sesh every day. I just cannot do that dude 😅 30-40 minutes MAX for me. I feel like people feel so much pressure to workout ‘perfectly’ or workout in this pre programmed way that woRkS foR evErYOne!!! to a point that it just turns them off and makes them feel like they need to stick to this rigid set of rules in order to progress or be healthy. Working out and moving your body is something so personal and subjective, something every individual needs to figure out for themselves, truly! Another great video Taylor, I always admire and appreciate your honesty and care towards us 🤍🤍
always know that 30-40min is PLENTY, and never feel like you have to be there a second longer. just because a workout is long does not mean it is more intensive! and i feel that exact same perfectionism pressure too, and that's exactly what drives me nuts! it is SO personal! you said it perfectly. it does not need to be comparative in the slightest
You’re videos have been helping me a ton recently. I’ve always struggled to have consistency in my work out routine so I never have had success in losing a bit of weight and toning up. I realize my mindset needs to be the first thing to change!
I’ve been in such a rut lately. I love working out but something just isn’t working and I haven’t been able to be consistent all year long. It’s extremely frustrating but I will keep trying
i would definitely try to figure out what are your main motivators and what may be blocking you from getting in those workouts! also, experiment and try different styles of exercise! that always helps me when i'm feeling down because it feels fun and new!
i actually really like and enjoy working out! but bc of school i don't really have time. sometimes i just do some little workouts if i have time!! i'm always excited for weekends or breaks/holidays bc i can finally workout again (and i also noticed that working out in the morning really motivates me for the day) thank you for this vid Taylor!! ly
the point u gave at 8:50 is interesting because i feel like the more i talk about goals or things i an working on the less i do it because to my brain i guess im talking about it like i already have it? so for ex) i work out monday tuesday wednesday and i tell someone about that on thursday i find i would be very unmotivated and less likely to work out the rest of the week - its the same for writing it down / tracking workouts for me personally i put too much pressure on myself and my mindset begins to slip to a much more negative and toxic view on fitness on working out! anyone else feel like this?? ps: im shocked u dont have more subs :)
I don’t have FOMO with workouts, but with food!!! Hahaha covid year has been kind to my tastebuds and not my waist 😂😂. But I love your approach and video! Absolutely right that we should enjoy every step of our journey!
i absolutely have food fomo too, really just fear of missing out on anything and everything. it's a sad thing really! i feel like it stems back to technology and our instant gratification :( thank you so much for watching btw!!
Yes, since finding your channel I've come to the realization that I need to listen to my body & mind and thats kept me working out the longest time I've ever had consistently since ever trying to "get fit" so for that thank you 🥺💕
The way you just woke up and decided to look like Elsa 😍😍😍Beautiful😭, I was just waiting for to sing let it go❄❄❄😅 and thank you for another informative and insightful video💕💕💕
Just subscribed to you yesterday, absolutely love your mindset! ❤️ I’ve been through a lot with fitness/nutrition (due to dance, social media, etc., etc.) and I’m slowly but surely getting into these better mindsets :)
it’s so good to meet you!! i can totally relate to that dance background (i did cheerleading growing up) and it can be a really hard past to outgrow the negative habits🥺❤️ but we get through it together! it helps to lean on one another 🥲
Taylor your hair is sooo beautiful like how are you being sooo proud ahh I mean like you are sensational girl because every week I always enjoyed your channel because you are sweetheart and you are amazing vibe 💖
Reece is just trying to give her input in this video. 😂😂 these are all such good tips! I need my accountability buddy as well as classes to keep me motivated and consistent!
Decided to watch some youtube videos on my laptop for the first time in a long time and let me just say first of all, Tay, 1. you look stunning and 2. your content quality is EVERYTHING 🖤
I just love how honest and helpful you are.. For a few months i've been following different programs too thinking that what they said that I should have a program to follow to see progress.. But I came to a point I got bored.. So what I did I made my own.. and now it doesn't feel like a chore to me anymore.. so much fun and proud of myself because I am doing what I love doing to achieve my goals..
This helped me today cause' i got back to roots: Tracy anderson and functional or BBG But i'm getting sick of the hype of counting and reaching even more than 10000 steps, in the past (2018-2019) i was leaner and never got into this but now i cant stop
Love this! I’ve made some changes recently. I feel like everyone loves Caroline Girvan, she’s the best, if you’re not following her programs what are you doing? Well I do enjoy her workouts but following one of her her 10 week programs, I started feeling like I was forcing myself to workout and it was no longer fun. I need more variety and that’s ok!
I think what I struggle with is that I LOVE fitness in groups. I don't really enjoy working out alone, at least not all the time, but so many gyms make group fitness classes out of reach. For example, I go to anytime fitness. In order to go unlimited fitness classes a week it would be an additional $50+ a week. (Or month. Either way. Expensive.) Spin classes? Expensive, and not anywhere near me. Yoga? Expensive, and often times plus size exclusionary or beginning classes are not beginner friendly at all. Same with pilates. And I REALLY love martial arts, but often times dojo's or studios are $100+ a month. Not to mention that I am NOT a morning person, especially during the winter, and, at least at my gym, only the super early morning classes have more than 1 person in the class, so it might as well be me, myself, and I anyway. :(
i’m 16 and i want to start going to the gym but i have no idea where to start. i don’t have any weight goals or anything i just want to get fitter, stronger and to feel healthier
oof when you have that one instructor who remembers when you havent been in a few weeks and then you get the "nice to see you again" (jokingly) when you do show up lol
Mine isn't working because I'm not doing it....at all. I just plan it and organize it in a pretty journal and never actually do it. I watch TH-camrs exercise though LOL
It's also good to know what your body is realistically going to be/do. I'm not going to healthily look like Chloe Ting I am curvyer than her and we don't have the same body shape or someone that's very tall shouldn't weigh 120lbs.
You miss my comments often but thanks for reaching out whenever you do see them truly kind of you. Fitness continues to help me in many ways so always appreciate the feedback whenever possible. What are your current favorite relaxation methods? As I told a few other channels I definitely want to try a mineral bath for its soothing and healing properties but for my training routine I also want to incorporate some yoga and stretches. What is the link to your podcast? Since you say you engage in more meaningful insightful discussion on there more often? Much love and glad to support! I'll comment again on the next one.
