Today, for the first time, I had to google "youtube maximum description length" (which is 5000 characters, and I had 7700 at first). FMC 2019 (1 competition held all around the world) is this weekend and I hoped to get this last FMC video out sooner but I had to redo it a few times. Good luck to all of you who are participating!
J perm, I really appreciate you helping me out when it comes to improving my cubing skills and time. You are a great content creator who doesn't click bait but you help me and I hope you teach me more methods that involves CFOP but also changed it a little bit. Thank you J Perm.
I have been working on incorporating ZZ ideas into my skeletons and so far, EOL dramatically lessens the pain of trying to solve the last edges and you can usually find a good case. EOL can be performed right away or after a 2x2 block, and you can orient the left and right layer solved stuff any way you want since it's a skeleton anyway. For example, I got a 17 move skeleton with 6 corners yesterday and set a new PB (34 moves. I'm not terribly good at cancelling moves lol). Today, I am working on a 19 move skeleton with 5 corners so I am hopefully going to break that PB since 2 extra moves while going from 3 cycles to two is obviously better. In short, orienting the edges early while you still have a lot of freedom in your unsolved layers is worth it because solving the last edges is much easier, and I have also had more luck with corner and edge pairs popping up when switching between scrambles.
This is really next level. At least for my brain. I am practicing commutators, but it'll be a long ride, 'till I've mastered them. Keep it up. I love it! How about 2x2 FMC? Or 4x4 FMC lol
Thanks! Some people have tried FMC for other events but it's not an official WCA event so there's not much incentive to get good at it. I think for 4x4 what people do is a low move count reduction + regular FMC on 3x3, not sure though since it's so rare to see anyone talk about it. For 2x2 I think if you know optimal CLL/EG/TCLL etc. then you just apply those algs.
The links in the description for the commutator examples arent working. First they link to a TH-cam link, then they direct to a alg.cubing.net with a random scramble and no moves.
I never realised that 3 style is literally a fmc technique, i use 3 style for blind, but I'm learning fmc later, like blindsolving techniques being used in fmc that's cool
lol i decided to apply all these new methods to my FMC solves and it took me like 4 hours or so to come up with a good solution and i got 47 moves?! Right before i did this i did an FMC solve with cfop and i got 37 moves. Ironically, all my efforts to be more efficient ended up being less efficient (I had an 18 move skeleton though)
Pls help. I had a 5C commutator and attempted to solve 3 through conjugate. After solving those three I have a sune with all corners flipped? What to do?
I think that comes from experience. In my last comp (2nd time doing FMC) I gave myself 30 mins to do a simple 3-corner insertion because I was really slow at it and messed up very frequently. But now I could probably do that in just a few minutes, so I'd spend more time coming up with creative skeletons and choosing the best one.
I got a 20 move skeleton but it's 4C2E. My plan is to solve both edges and one corner with a J-perm or something like that, then there will be 3 corners left. Will that work?
Hey, I just started into cubing and I learned 2look oll and 2look pll, and I found myself an alg for the Sune which goes: R U' L' U R' U' L, which could be faster, this one or the original one?
Hey J Perm, i'm in a dilemma. You see, my parents would only let me buy one cube and where I stay, the MF3RS2 M and the Valk 3(without magnets) are the same price. Which one should I get?
Hey! Do you think you can help me boost my cubing channel? I really want to start one but don’t know how! Do you think you can give me pointers and tips? Thanks a lot!!❤️
My usual advice for people starting out is to make videos that you think people will want to watch, even if they aren't invested in you as a person. For example, don't just copy what PewDiePie does, because he's allowed to make certain content on the basis that people are interested in him as a person. When he started, he had to have a unique and compelling idea, which was his horror game playthroughs with crazy reactions. So try to find what you can provide that doesn't already exist. Or do what I tried to do when I started, which is find what already exists but try to make it even better.

(My last Mo100 average is 16,85...)
On the skeleton? I use a pencil to mark where I currently am, and once I'm about 1/3 through the skeleton I'll go all the way to the end just to see if I made any mistakes.
Am I the only one who is going to a competition in 2 months and has never done FMC and has just gone to this because it was going to have a lot of advanced terms? Me = Hmm. Maybe I should go to J Perm. Yeah that’s what I’m gonna do. Me 2 Minutes Into The Video = WTF is an interchange???

I had a quick question, J Perm. Does the cube in this video (QiYi Valk 3) have stickers? If so, have you experienced them peeling off after awhile?

Inverse scramble: U2 B L2 F D2 U2 F2 D2 L2 B' R D2 U' B L' U F' L' D' L'
I did F D' R' F D' on the inverse to get my first block
Then on the normal scramble i did L' R U R L, and U2 F' U' F U2 for f2-1
on the inverse i did U' F U to insert the last f2l edge.
this left me with 4 corners and 3 edges. My skeleton was: L' R U R L U 2 F' U' F U F' ^ U D F' R D F'
