Can we just appreciate the fact that in every reconstruction, he uses the exact same cube that the solver used. Felixs used a Angstrom Gan air sm and he did too. These small things make these videos better..

I did the same f2l solution when I tried the scramble first
0:20 subtitles - Felix and eggs
So I tried solving this scramble before watching the video, and I think I've possibly discovered another extremely efficient solution to this. You can make an X-cross on the blue side with the red-yellow pair, while setting up both the white-red and white -orange pairs which can then be inserted simultaneously. By chance, this insertion also pairs up the final yellow-orange pair, which can then be inserted in as little as 3 moves. This solution completes the cross and F2L in 16 moves! Sadly, I'm not sure what the best solution for the last layer is, as I don't even use full OLL, let alone other alg sets which could make this a very short solve. This is the F2L solution, if anyone has a suggestion for the last layer that would be great!

Of course, this can probably be improved in some way, especially the last pair which can possibly be used to manipulate the last layer somehow?
It truly is amazing how all that computing is done in 4 seconds.
Regarding the preserved block on OLL- after seeing feliks’s solves and walkthroughs, it seems like he chooses moves that help him lookahead better, even if they compromise on efficiency, which is why he flows as well as he does and gets crazy times without the fastest tps.

Good point - makes one wonder how much single records mean at all. If at some point there'll be an LL-skip @ sub-3 at an official competition it will be the permanent singles record - it would pretty much never ever happen again (1:15,500).
But it wouldn't mean anything big, because many solves are already sub-3 up to the point where F2L is finished.
What's really meaningful is averages, they eliminate the luck-factor. But nobody cares. I couldn't even find the current 3x3x3 3of5 WR.
