I tried other recommendations but thought like you that the root cause was the gaskets leaking. I tried your hack and immediate success! I love this because it directly relates to the original problem. My faucet was a basic lever handle but still had same issue. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I was having same issue recently, and I found out that similar cartridges can be purchased in most plumbing stores. Apparently the cartridges are very similar to the hot and cold water stem cartridges for the the sink faucet.

Hi again Hypergauge, I tried the fix this morning and I was unable to pull out the faucet stem. I have an air gap RO faucet. Do you have the same or is it a non-air gap faucet? Maybe that makes a difference?! Either way, I’m unable to remove it with significant upward lifting force.

@@C1DXM2 mine is air gap version. My guess is likely your faucet has a different design. You may need to check the schematic from the maker to be sure. Best luck with your repair.
