    Wouldn’t wait long before adding filter due to bacteria growing quickly. Adding a small filter, lining the walls with foam, and ordering a real liner would have not been too much more.

    How are you planning on building the pump? We just made our wooden pool as well but we didn’t cut out any holes for the pump. So we’re trying to figure something out for it.

      Yes, I put it 18 inches down with concrete. It's nice and strong

      This cost about $480 with the tarp and wood. We looked online and in stores and couldn't find a pool anywhere so this was the next best thing. :)

    Would those joints hold well if I make a square pool? I don't have an area where I can kill grass, we don't own our home. I normally put the pool on our concrete pad.
    Also, look up diy pool sand filters, I made one for our inflatable pool last year, I used an old cat litter container and sand and had it waterfall into the pool, also had pool tabs in it, lasted all summer. There is a video where I guy makes it to clean the water off the top of his pool cover, then pumps under. That would be a good one for your pool!

      I used doug fir 2x8s. The whole thing cost around $480

      The notches are cut 1.875 inches deep....so 2 inches will work but don't go any deeper. At that depth they will fit perfectly

    Hi! Did you have any issues with leaking? We followed the steps, didn’t fill the pool up all the way, but the next morning water leaked out. There aren’t any holes in the tarp. Do you suggest a thicker tarp? Or doubling up on two tarps?

    How could you invest time and money to build such a nice frame only to use this TERRIBLE liner? I would just settle for a good looking plastic pool.
