    That’s almost exactly what we get with our 2020 Y here in the US mid-west that gets ALL FOUR SEASONS. We are very pleased with it’s range considering I don’t use the Aero Caps and we added the Performance Boost Upgrade.

    Model y performance is also very efficient with 21" and with 18" its insane range for the battery pack of 75kwh usable and the size of this EV. Thats why I went with smaller aftermarked wheels!

    Hi Chris
    Great review but can you post a spreadsheet comparing this with VW ID.4 GTX, Skoda Enyaq, Audi e-Tron Q4, Polestar 2, Hyundai Ionic 5, Kia EV6 and Nissan Ariya (when these are available), all with AWD options, 19 inch wheels and temperatures above, say 15 Centigrade? Tesla probably wins, but the margin is no more than 10% and not 50% or more as EPA numbers suggest. Most people do not seem to know that the testing is done by the manufacturer, not the EPA, and testing is NOT standardised, as it should be. Tesla definitely over-promise and under-deliver here.
    I have always thought that is not appropriate to compare the Tesla Model 3, a very small saloon car like a BMW 3 Series, with cars with a more practical hatchback, like the Polestar 2.
    But it works both ways. The Model Y should not be compared with the VW ID.3 either.
    I think the Tesla Supercharger network will become less important because, first, Elon has said that Tesla soon will open up their network to owners of all types of EV and, secondly, although reliable and fast, Ionity, FastNed and others are greater in number and will match or overtake Tesla for speed.

    Hello, could you make a 160 km/h range test? My thinking is that 160 km/h is close to optimal speed for efficiency testing, because higher speed makes differences in efficiency bigger. And ev efficiency is lot more than just aerodynamics.

    • @Zeus43full
      @Zeus43full 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      lol, you never drove any EV ? at 160 my gess is 200-240km of range, best driving speed for efficiency is 50-70km/h

    • @reneh.8817
      @reneh.8817 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Zeus43full Don't mix up consumption with efficiency. Teslas are made for motorways, they are way more efficient at higher speeds compared to other EVs. What Jouni meant to say is 150-170 km/h could be a sweet spot when it comes to quick traveling incl. charging. But, Tesla should improve charging speed with next batteries.

    • @TheEdmaster87
      @TheEdmaster87 ปีที่แล้ว

      170km/h is the sweet spot for this model y. Many other EVs have this as their top speed and the consumption is much higher. Its crazy that this car can do 217km/h and performance can do 250km/h and still get 250km of range at those speeds! With fastcharging you will reach any destination pretty Quick and the acceleration is great! But who drives at 250km/h or even 217km/ for 1 hour? You cant because of traffic or because of baustelle...
