- Continuing on with the Emerald Kaizo Monotype series, our next challenge is the Grass type! Can I reach the Hall of Fame with one of the worst defensive typings?

Despite explaining it a lot in the last video, I still got quite a lot of comments about this so I feel the need to address it one more time: This is not meant to be the full game, I've played through the full game twice already on this channel. It takes WEEKS to get through a full game where it's just a bunch of overleveling for gyms anyways, and that's not the point of this series at all; think of this as an extension to the mono-normal full playthrough challenge video. Don't trip though, my next video is gonna be back to full game content, and I'll also be mixing more of these kaizo monotypes in between as I go. Thank you guys and enjoy !!! ❤️🙏

Man, seeing you do this made me realize how poorly I prepared in my mono-Grass run. I definitely should've gone for Shiftry and Exeggutor for Explosion, I had no idea they got it until after I uploaded the video. Good stuff though man, really enjoying the content!

Cradily is underrated man. Great defenses and great moves. On my kaizo run I had a team of all my favorites and cradily was my MVP. I was so surprised

Absolutely awesome video! And I love the team building. Just hearing your thought process helps me predict how your gonna use your team and makes it feel more like watching a competitive pokemon battle than just a challenge run. Hope fire type is next! Definitely a better pool to choose from.

I remember always picking a cradily whenever I go through hoenn. A 485 stat total with the sheer amount of defenses it has??
No-brainer.
I do wish they'd make more "lopsided" type pokemon that are viable in more teams. It's always very hard to use cradily without planning your team around efficient toxic/pp stalling.
Then again, this is is emerald kaizo.

I would still love to see fire as the last starter typing and as a challenge, with the little choice of Pokémon and type coverage you have!

@Chizzy , yeah I thought that Blaziken would help with the fighting type but I forgot about the swift swimmers.. nevermind, Fire might be impossible.
I laughed so much at the Cradily comments about not sleeping on it, seriously, is there anyone who doesnt know how utterly broken that thing was back in gen 3? I knew from the start you had to pick it over the other stuff, also Vileplume is *decent* maybe it was better than Venusaur, would depend on little details like nature, moveset and her meek 10 Sp.def 10 speed buffs

You should try the poison type next, because crobat 😛 But seriously, poison type will be a difficult one, especially with all the legendaries like Mewtwo, Latias, Latios, Jirachi, etc.
I can imagine Poison would be suuuuper challenging!

Sunflora is actually pretty good in this game if you can set it up because it has the only set up move in the game, and giga drain can heal you practically to full.
It looks so easy on the video but trying to beat this game takes the soul out of your body believe me

If u consider playing more hard rom hacks I truly recommend emerald omega or dark rising!also pokemon rocket strike it's a pretty fun rom hack!

Jumpluff - poison powder, synthesis, leech seed, headbutt w/ king's rock. My favorite Gen II flinch-inducing monster that sucked the life out of its opponents, also it was fast as shit and outsped everything
IMO exeggutor is a really underrated grass type

In the pokecommunity site where you download emerald kaizo, there’s tons of awesome contributors who post spreadsheets with all this kind of information. I remember finding stat changes one around page 14-15, it’s pretty new

Could you try Pokemon Rejuvenation dark mono?
There is a thing about Poekemon Rejuvenation is you can't overlevel your gyn leader,you need to get badges to increase the max level you could get
Plus more field effect and gym leader's pokemon movesets are kinda wellmade

Fire type is really really hard....
I tried it so often, and at the end Glacia was possible to beat...
I hunted for every one a quickclaw item from sneasel... And had to pick Magcargo for that lightscreen vs some water attacks...ofcourse with burn/para luck at some point, so that hypnose was a option after lum berry. Hadnt used heartscales to learn old moves for anyone..
Beside that, Hundoom, Ninetales, Arcanine, Blaziken and Rapidash....
Maybe a accuracy drop with other ones could be thinkable... but idk... overall the ones above had good coverage.However,... hiddenpower grass was disappointing vs Swampert .
Hope to see type Fire aswell from you , so maybe you play a different strategy.
