- We're back with another Monotype Challenge in Pokemon Emerald Kaizo; this time, we're gonna be using the IMPOSSIBLE Fire type. I mean it when I say this type is likely the hardest out of ALL 17 typings due to some factors in Emerald Kaizo such as Glacia's auto-rain swift swim team. Can I figure out a way around that to another championship?

I'm shocked at how much thought you've put into these teams, it's quite amazing really. Might I suggest going with Steel types next? Zwiggo just tried it and I'd like to see you beat the challenge where he failed, since it seems pretty clear that you're a lot better at Pokemon than most of the other challenge-tubers lol

To be fair Zwiggo and other youtubers are strictly no held item youtuber and he couldn't get past Houndoom because his team was too slow
Having held items is almost a must to have a chance at beating Emerald Kaizo with monotype teams
@@edra3118 Zwiggo didn't lose because he didn't have items. He lost because he just tried to get lucky without putting any effort into the game

Aswadil Amin wild sneasels have a 5% chance of carrying them. Put a mon with compoundeyes in the front and it ups it to 20% odds!

I'd suggest a Rock type mono! There aren't many good options, but there are a few gems (pun intended); and overall, the Rock type doesnt have any inherent type advantage over the teams that the E4 uses.
I also can't believe I never realized how there are so few Fire types that take neutral damage from Water; even considering all mons up until Gen 8 😮

Ice or Steel might be cool to do~ Ice is historically a really bad type defensively but pretty good offensively, while Steel is vice versa. Both can present a different type of challenge!

One run that'd be fun to see is a mono poison type run. While they only have one type effectiveness against grass in gen 3 and key weaknesses to psychic and ground, I'd say the resistances it has and pokemon available might be fun to use
Yeah Poison will be a fun one, especially since there are so many psychics + earthquake spam
Watching these well after you've made them is a phenomenon for sure. But you could indeed continue the series (even in Emerald Kaizo) by choosing a 2ND team with cap of 1 repeat 'mon. Good gravy, that'd be crazy. [Also in more populous types, how many teams would it take for you to use (insert bad Pokemon here)? But I doubt you'd go to THAT much trouble over this silly idea!]

Since the starter types are done. Maybe the secondary type trio of Fighting/Psychic/Dark can be touched on.
Personally, I would say Psychic first. I'd love to see Claydol (maybe Chimeco) have their fun in the _sun._ 🔥

I know you weren’t sure about trying fire type, so I’m happy you tried it! Great choice in the team building (I thought Blaziken would be an obvious choice but I didn’t know that Flareon learns Superpower) and even though you got quite lucky, it sorta was your strategy with the ultimate ok-boomer duo! 😂

I was a little iffy when I first saw this challenge format, but I suppose this is better than watching people struggle and cry and fail for hours on end. Also try Ice Types (One of if not the worst type)

Good news for when you get to the ghost monotype, there are only 6 fully evolved ghosts in gen 3, so no need for teambuild.
Also, you should try dark or ground type next.
I was a little tilted when Ninetales was crossed off since it’s my favourite Pokemon but I understand why.
As you mentioned it’s main quirk is status conditioning things which is useless in Kaizo and its moveset is very limiting.
But other than that I loved the video keep it up chizzy! ❤️

I did this run, too, and I had to level 4 fire types (by trading 3 of them to another ROM and spamming rare candies) to level 100 to beat _Wallace._ In some parts of the Seafloor cavern, I ended up relying on ExtremeSpeed crits and flinches on Ninetales's Extrasensories. The one battle in victory road with EQ spam required me to hax the Flygon into missing a lot of its attacks and using 5 fire types instead of Flash.
Glacia was impossible for me; I should have gotten quick claws.
Assuming Emerald Kaizo doesn't mess with any of the odds, that Glacia victory was a 0.2*0.2(two hydropump misses)*0.2*0.2(two quick claw activations)*0.0625(clutch crit on Wailord)=0.01% chance.

Yeah, looking at the Glacia battle here and Blaziken's performance in the Mono Fighting video, it would've been a better choice. For example, you wouldn't have had to fish for Hydro Pump misses on Lapras and just clicked STAB Superpower.
I'm very interested in an Ice run because there are so few non-legendary options!
