    I’ve used this shoe for everything, at the start used it for long runs around 4:50 to 4:30 per km, and it was ok, the I used it for tempo and threshold around 3:30 to 3:40 per km and it was better, I also have been using it for faster stuff 3:00 to 2:50 per km and it’s been great, you can feel how it helps u giving you more energy, but I agree, it’s too heavy, I prefer it for tempo and lactate runs

      It sounds like you've really tested this shoe! I remember being surprised at how well it let me run faster. I didn't expect it because of the weight!

    I bought Boston 10 eight days ago. I have 140km in them, I am enjoying the shoe. I can't wait to run 90km Comrades Marathon on 28th August.

    Great informative review, so glad you reviewed them in isolation as a Boston 10 and not comparing it with the previous Boston models. Easy to see why other reviews compare them as this probably should be in a different range... Thanks, going for my first run in mine today.

    First Bostons for me.
    I got the Nike ZoomX Invincible as a (slow) daily trainer, but started to dislike them soon after the first "wow-feeling". Felt super-wobbly, And I got a strange calf injury running in them.
    Reading/watching reviews for the Boston 10 was a bit depressing, but when I saw that Green-Yellow and blue colorway, I knew I had to give them a try. :-)
    Very happy. I really like the underfoot feel, and they just oozes quality.

    • @its_Matt_B_

      I’m glad you gave them a go even though a lot of the reviews were not the best. Other than my review, I haven’t seen a mostly positive review about them.
      Oh, and your 100% right about the quality! 👊🏼

    LOOOVE REVIEW!! 👍
    Ive tried it on a couple of days ago on one foot and the Adios Pro 2 on the other! I was really surprised how the Boston 10s are forcing me to strike the ground with the forefoot while the Adios Pro 2 doing the same with a 2-fold magnitude prompting me thereby to buy the latter! Maybe ill get the Bostons too in near future.

    • @its_Matt_B_
      @its_Matt_B_  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is high praise for the Bostons! Thanks for watching! The Boston 10s really are a great training shoe, and far less expensive than the Adios Pro 2s!

    Matt, I actually bought the Boston 10 after you mentioned them in an earlier video and saw them on huge discount for around $100 on Cyber Monday. Everything you said is spot on. The last couple of times I’ve run in this shoe I’ve gotten a bit sore on my left foot. When I switch back to my Hoka Cliftons, I don’t have that foot issue. In fact, I ran in my Boston’s this morning for an 8 miler and have my final 20 mile long run tomorrow morning…my Christmas gift to myself! haha
    So, in a nutshell, I really enjoy the fit, feel and rise of the Boston but am curious about that foot soreness.

      I'm curious about the foot issue too. Where on your foot is the discomfort?

    I know this shoe got a lot of negative reviews. I own these and have a love/hate relationship with them. I guess I was initially upset they deviated so much from previous Boston’s. That being said, they grew on me over time.

    • @its_Matt_B_
      @its_Matt_B_  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This was my first pair of Bostons, so I couldn't compare them directly the the previous versions. There's something to be said for limiting our expectations. Because I had no expectations for this shoe, I really liked it for what it is from the beginning!

    To be honest, after more than 300km, I am still confused about this shoe. I am not sure I like it or hate it. I always have foot pain during the 1st few miles using this pair but then it would go away after that and felt quite nice actually. It is very heavy and rigid especially at long-runs after soaking all the sweat. And yet, I still want to take it out for my runs many a time. That's how I felt haha. But I won't buy another pair for sure.

    • @its_Matt_B_

      That's actually an understandable description! It took a minute for me to actually enjoy the Boston 10, but then I wore it all the time! It just seemed to work in a lot of ways without making me think it's a great shoe! 🤣

    Can this replace the 1080v11 and Clifton for an easy day / long run shoe?

    • @its_Matt_B_
      @its_Matt_B_  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it would be a good choice for an easy/long shoe, however it is a little firmer than the 1080v11, so it it's not going to feel as soft underfoot.

    Are you experiencing significant heel wear and tear? For example, inside the padding that covers your achilles. Nonetheless, it’s an amazing shoe! I’ve done some quick reps on the track and enjoy doing strides in them.

    • @its_Matt_B_
      @its_Matt_B_  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, I'm not seeing any wear and tear in the padding near my Achilles! My pair seem to be holding up very well, but I do rotate them in with several pairs throughout the week. I think they feel good doing strides in too! It's surprising!

    • @its_Matt_B_
      @its_Matt_B_  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It definitely has enough cushion to run a marathon, but I would probably choose something a little lighter. I have fairly normal arches, so it’s difficult for me to tell if it would be good for low/high arches. You could always make them work by putting an arch insert in it.
