I bought this shoe about a month ago and I have been using it for trail runs here in Baguio. So far it proved to be a big help running uphill in high altitude training. I used to run in an SL20, it is lighter and beneficial for speed drills but for longer distances, I prefer this new version of the Boston.
Extremely helpful review, thanks. Earlier iterations of the Bostons, particularly the 8, struck the perfect balance between comfort, fit, durability and responsiveness; a great all rounder, but this is too big a design departure to even be called a Boston. You can now get Boston 8s for about £70, which given how hardwearing they are, represents seriously good value for money.
Informative review Ben.I bought this with half marathon distance in mind. Did a 11 mile long run then a half marathon race. These were perfect for me. Appreciate they are heavy but they are stable and running in stability shoes which are always heavier I didn’t notice this extra weight. I would say if you are a stability shoe wearer and looking for a longer race distance shoe these are worth a look. I use vaporflys for 5/10k races but wouldnt want to take on anything further with my form
i loved the boston 8 and 9. i like the boston 10 aswell but more for a distance shoe. Im using the boston 10 as distance shoe and a replacement for the ultraboost.
As a fan of earlier versions of Boston (v2 or V3 particularly) I think I'll be giving this one a miss... I loved that the earlier Bostons were lightweight but solid and durable - could run a marathon in them but could use them for tempo efforts... I did pick up a cheap pair of SL20 v1's though so interested to hear your thoughts on these...
I'm not sure why they even called this a Boston - it's such a huge departure from their earlier iterations. No tire rubber outersole, lots more cushion, heavier, less responsive. The 7 and 8 were great and filled a great niche in the shoe world, as something that could, depending on your foot, do pretty much everything and hold up for a long time
I was hoping for another refinement of the Boston 8/9. I did my 5k PB in the 8, but couldn't put more in distance than that in it due to how narrow it was through the midfoot. A little more width there, and it would have been my favorite shoe of all time... by a lot! Instead of the Boston 10, I went with the Atreyu The Artist. It's lighter and racier than the B10, making it feel like more of an evolution of what the old Boston was!
I wanted to like this shoe and sometimes it feels really great to run in but something about doesn’t agree with me and I have sore feet ankles and legs the next day.
Are the new Adidas Boston's similar to the Triumph iso series from Saucony by chance? I loved the Triumph iso 5s and they stopped making the iso series 😭 Trying to find something similar.
I’ve loved and only run on the adidas Boston series for many years now, so decided to get the Boston 10. Unfortunately I felt quite the same as this review. Everything I liked about the previous generations of Boston shows was gone. It’s too bulky and heavy for me and am looking for something that is more similar to the old bostons. Anyone have any recommendations?
I have the boston9 and enjoyed it. Now instead of going with Adidas new offerings of Adios6 and Boston10 which is pricy and heavier, i went with Rebel2+Rincon3 alternative instead.
I bought them and then watched this review before taking them out. Definitely agree with the Stability, but the weight definitely seems very off putting. Think I’ll be returning them!
Must admit to liking them- more than the 9 (which I liked a lot) as more comfortable on the long runs Paired with the adizero pro for faster runs. But great comment that the earlier Bostons were more versatile.
Tried it out at the local running store...VERY firm, but I did think I felt a kind of incipient bounce to the midsole. Despite the not-so-great first impression I'm oddly interested in it and have to keep stopping myself from ordering a pair
Id like to give these a try. I wasnt a huge fan of the old boston although Ive had a bunch of them. Not enough substance in the forefoot. I think the SL20 is kind of taking the place of the old boston.
I use mine for 'plod runs', never going to be a PB shoe...I'd also 2nd some of the comments about more of a stability shoe. My wife can comfortably wear these and she is a severe overpronator
Great review Ben. I think it would be worth looking at the Adios 6 which really is the shoe that can do everything. It's also a huge departure from the Adios 5 but in this case I feel a huge improvement unlike the Boston 10. Funny how adidas has made an absolute dud in the Boston and a superstar in the Adios in this last iteration
Who is it for? Sounds like a holiday shoe for tourist walking! The weight and lack of cushioning (despite the maximum stack heights) confirm other reviewers negatives. I won't be stocking it here at the Complete Runner Ilkley . Thanks Ben for confirming. Adidas would no doubt say that other brands max cushion shoes are TOO soft and therefore unstable. Who has achieved the happy medium? When will we see a well cushioned, lightweight shoe with some medial support for old beggars like me with over 120,00 miles in the legs.
Can say that the Adios 6 are amazing! If you liked previous Adios and Boston, you will love them. Light, breathable, and really snappy with the torsion plate that extends to the front and the Lightstrike pro.
For this weight gain they could simply match the boost with LS Pro... When you learn how little of LS Pro is really used (less than visible collar), you may feel cheated twice ! I'm persistent too - I'm sticking with my Boston 8 for little bit longer 😁 ...or much longer - depends when Adidas repairs it (B12?;) Well, Adios needs no fixing 😉
Still searching for a pair of shoes I like as much as my adidas supernova glide boost 8’s - best shoes i’ve owned. I have a pair of SL20’s which are fine but nowhere near as comfortable as the supernovas. Similar situation to this - why do they have to keep messing with tried and tested, successful models!
Make me sad Ben didn’t like the shoe. I just bought a pair online yesterday and right now I’m still excited to try it but I hope the shoe works for me.
Its ŕather individual at the end of the day. Which is why reviews are useful, but use it solely for a guideline instead of if this guy say yes means yes
I've been using the Boston 10 over 100km but i still cannot break into it.. When im running with it, i can feel the carbon rod on my forefoot and causing numbness and pain over my foot.. Maybe the insole to thin🤔🤔 Im using boston 10 as my daily training shoes. Does anybody have the same problem with me?😢
Funny enough, since I have no history with this line, this shoe may be just fine for me. However, I have so many top notch daily trainers, I certainly don't need another one. Also, since I wanted to check out the Boston line, this seem to be a poor choice since they have changed it so much.
It would be good to have Sarah review the woman’s version of the man’s show to have a comparative, as there are often subtle differences between the two! Good, informative review!
People, forget the notion that this is still the old Boston line - it's not! If you want the successor to Boston 9, go buy the Adios 6. Also, Boston 10 midsole breaks in/comes fully alive after 55km. Furthermore, this is NOT a speed shoe. Stop using it that way and stop expecting it to be that way. Use it for your long runs training sessions instead. TBH, I love the fact that people are passing on this shoe. More stocks for us, B10 lovers.
It's just frustrating they are marketing as the Boston 10.. they should have just discontinued the Boston name.. and called this something new.. But they called it Boston as the name sells and people would buy it. I'm sure a lot of people would have bought it based on the name and been really disappointed. Cheeky marketing by Adidas.. but poor for the consumer.
Just now seeing this video…after I got my first pair of the Boston 11. Haven’t even tried them on yet! Was hoping this shoe would be good for my speed sessions as I prep for a marathon, but maybe it’ll become my tempo shoe. Now to go test it out 🏃♂️
Been wearing Boston’s for a few years and I do not want to change to this. So I’ve stocked up on a LOT of 8s and 9s. Good discounts now..... The 10s also got a poor review from Kofusi
I made a mistake of buying this shoe. After my first run, my feet hurt. Too heavy , too warm, and a strange numbness and tingling in my toes that started after a few km. A total waste of money.
It’s quite common for people in relationships. Yes it’s kind of bad habit especially because it sounds strange to use it like this lol. But by we he means himself, Sarah and Kiki. Maybe even the flatmate 😅

Pinang uphill koto natapilok ako haha
I like the fact that Ben reviews shoes he actually paid for, unlike the TH-camr runners that do promo reviews of shoes provided by the manufacturers!
Loved boston 10 it forces to run fast and reduces fatigue and midsole becomes more comfortable after 20 miles and lightstrike pro is super responsive.

Can you do sik track sessions with Boston 8?

Adiós 6 are the ones to buy
Spot on Ben. Bought and returned it immediately. Then purchased Boston 8 (my all time favorite) from Amazon.
You made a big mistake, 50miles into this shoe it becomes insane
Kinda feels more like a stability shoe than a neutral one!
I'm not sure why they even called this a Boston - it's such a huge departure from their earlier iterations. No tire rubber outersole, lots more cushion, heavier, less responsive. The 7 and 8 were great and filled a great niche in the shoe world, as something that could, depending on your foot, do pretty much everything and hold up for a long time
What about the Hoka Clifton 8’s Ben? Looking for an easy run shoe. Currently using the NB 1080V11 but wanting to try something different
I was hoping for another refinement of the Boston 8/9. I did my 5k PB in the 8, but couldn't put more in distance than that in it due to how narrow it was through the midfoot. A little more width there, and it would have been my favorite shoe of all time... by a lot!

Have u tested the Saucony speed 2 yet?
I like your review Ben
Thank you to save my money!!! I'll pick Boston 9 again (tip than before)
Took me a while to get used to the 10s. But it's a shoe that wants you to go fast. A good 50km for the break-in. Now it's pretty soft for me.
Micah do you think 50k is about average for breaking in running shoes?
@@mdgeorge4993 Hi, I believe it's different for every pair. Specifically for me the boston 10s took me about 50km. Now I get to enjoy them properly
Love your videos!!
is this ok for a high arch support for the middle insole part? im a runner with highet arch. im hesitant to buy this.. any suggestion or inputs
Damn I was going to get this one. Oh well. Thanks for the vid!

Love the boston 8's think they nailed that shoe, I had hopes for this too bad.
which would you recommend for easy / steady runs (6-10km) adidas boston 10 or nike invincible run or something else?
The invincible are awesome for recovery !
Great review, cannot agree more!
Hi Ben, are you going to have a review of the Adidas Adios 6?
I have the boston9 and enjoyed it.

I can already tell that I prefer the Adios 6 over the Boston 10s.
2 different type of shoes. Adios 6 is for race/ track sessions and Boston 10 for longer threshold/ tempo runs. I like both
Tried it out at the local running store...VERY firm, but I did think I felt a kind of incipient bounce to the midsole. Despite the not-so-great first impression I'm oddly interested in it and have to keep stopping myself from ordering a pair
The NB More V3 perhaps a much better option on this category
I was going to buy this shoe, but not anymore. The Boston name misled me. I’ll take a look at the ultra boost 21.
I got a pair and they are the most comfortable walking shoes ever.
How about the adios 6? Are you going to test this Ben?
Adios 6 should be called boston 10 ;) waiting for Ben’s review 🤜
Cheers parksy lad

Is it recommended for wide feet?
Not sure if you reviewed this shoe but what about the Saucony Endorphin Speed 2? Getting/got some really good reviews by others.
I have it in for review.. will do soon!
Is it suitable for running 10 km??
When would you recommend doing strength training as running 3/4 times a week I am struggling to fit it in with my recovery days
I would personally combine it with my easy runs.. once or twice per week. Then keep recovery days just for recovery!

Hi Ben I've noticed your USD conversions are way off , or are you putting a VAT-less $ price ?
I don’t convert them from uk pounds. I just find the recommended prices on various USA specific websites.
@@BenParkes I think US stores don't include VAT as it varies per state, makes sense then why it's so low. Cheers

Very enlightening. Apparently, Adidas killed soul of Boston.
anyone else getting foot pain / sleeping foot feeling from these?
Don't know what Adidas is doing. They killed Solar Boost, Glide, Ultraboost and now Boston.

Yeah too heavy and too firm and rather disappointing as a Boston fan over the years.
Extra point for recycling waste plastics 👍
They simply should have taken the b9 formula and switch the two foams from react/lightstrike to lightstrike/pro
