I'm definitely in the "love this shoe" camp, so much so I've two pairs. I had no previous experience of the Boston line so came in with no expectations. It is a harder feeling shoe, especially given the stack height, but for long runs up to MP its working for me. (155lb/6.2"/ ave pace in shoe 7:15/m)
Good to hear, it sounds like those who didn’t run in previous versions generally like it, and everyone else thinks they ruined it 😂. I hope it does open up and feel better at faster paced. Thanks!
Had my first run in these on Thursday, 6mi at a 7:30/mi average pace. I went out for an easy run but couldn't slow down, the shoes just kept me moving faster & more efficiently. My last mile was 7:12 which is getting close to my tempo paces. Still too early to call after only one run but I think I'm going to end up loving it as a long workout shoe. Probably my favorite aspect of the shoe is how stable the ride is, I was worried about tipping over with how tall it is but somehow it's close to being the most stable shoe in my lineup
I love this shoe, i use it on long runs with tempo pace inbetween. I also use in on my intervals on a 5k pace. So much so i bought 2 pairs of boston 10s as it is on 20-30% sale here on the philippines. When the boston 11 came out i immediately took it using my discount voucher on adidas. Its just the same feel just a bit tad lighter on weighing scale that’s all but the ride and everything is the same. In my case i don’t feel the weight reduction cos of the upper, only my weighing scale felt it 😂
Yup, you nailed it on the impressions of this shoe. Slow paces its a brick. Pick it up and it wakes up...Despite its weight Ive been using it for my tempo/speed sessions and I like it. The previous Bostons always felt a bit thin in the midsole for me, not any longer.
Had my first run in them today, too. Got it for Christmas. I think the weirdest thing is the rocker starting under my toes somehow. It is harder but at the same time it gives me the feeling that it will do great at HM pace. The more you put in the more it gives back to you. But I haven’t run in road shoes for a long time. Just bought the Hoka rocket x and liked them to. Maybe I like them because I only run faster and harder on the road.
Just picked up a pair of these for $59 from running warehouse. I'm used to light tempo shoes like the endorphin speed 2 but will see how this shoe pans out.
I got these shoes too you are right I was expecting them to be softer only ran 5 miles on them but my legs felt like a did 10 I felt they were too heavy for me and not enough cushion that was my first pair from adidas and my last I'll stick with my nikes
I’m in the “Not a fan” camp. I’ve heard people say they get better the more miles you put in, but I had a hard enough time putting 60 miles on them when there are just so many better options. Curious to see what you think as you continue to test it out!
yeah it's been an interesting first couple runs. Definitely a lot out there that feels like it might be better to be running in. Gonna try to keep going, but we'll see. Thanks!
@@RyanClaytonFilms i purposely walked 50lm in mine prior to running, to break thrm in somewhat. Fantastic lockdown, awesome outsole and super good on steady/tempo out to 18km, however, that great outsole, particularly the awesome forefoot instep ADDS to the stiffness of midsole. I see this shoe going 600-800km and the longer it goes, the better the break-in will be.....simply, it's a beast and needs plenty of work into them. And at half price, EXTRAORDINARY VALUE Great review Clayton.
Hi ryan is this ok for overpronated runners like me? Why yes and why not? Could you recommend for me a training and racing shoe for overpronated runner. Thabk you im from the philippines
So I got this shoe and ran in it 3 times. First 2 runs I didn't love it didn't hate it either. My last run 5 miles and around mile 4 I felt the rod under my right big toe. Not a fan I'm going to return them
Looks like an interesting and overall good shoe... I've got my eye on this one, but was hoping the midsole was a tad softer (not New Balance Rebel v2 soft). Thanks for the first impressions!
This is a big look change up from the Boston I knew competing in college (we were sponsored by Adidas). Half as much cushion & great for those long tempos & an average every day wear & tear shoe. This just looks like a poor replica of a Hoka
Yeah very drastic changes from previous Boston models, but runs totally different than a Hoka. Lightstrike has a firmer feel and really opens up when you put more energy into it. Thanks for watching Jon!
So far you're the only one on YT able to describe the Adidas running experience, which is all about hitting the ground at certain paces so the shoe becomes alive. As far this new "Boston"..... I just hated it since day one because it truly derailed a great successful tradition built for years. We, lovers of the good old Boston low stack height, light weight reliable great shoe, got literally slapped on the face with that abomination....... which I bet it was named that way so I could be sold, because it is truly another show, so if you truly want the latest Boston shoe experience, then is none other than the Adizero Adios 6 (which I LOVE)

Totally agree about the stable feeling, definitely has a good feel under the foot. And yeah same here, once I sped up they felt so much better.

yeah it's a really interesting shoe. doesn't do what you expect it to do, but it's not all bad. Has it's place for sure.

Awesome Christmas present!! I agree the more you put into it, the more you get back. Good luck continuing to run in them and the Rocket X!
The Adios 6 is a real gem!
That’s great to hear, definitely want to try it!

Great review Clayton.
The Adidas Boston 1 was one of my go to shoes back in the day. I’m sure curious about this one! 10.5 on a new shoe is a lot. Great video!
Thanks Matt! This shoe is an interesting one!
@@RyanClaytonFilms yeah, it’s interesting that it’s so divided
Love the honest review. What brand of hat are you wearing. I’ve noticed it in a few of your videos and I like it. Thanks
Thanks!! It's the Billy Yang / Path Projects collab hat, love it!

yeah you can definitely feel the rods, should have been a bit more flexible

yeah, it's funny the faster you go the softer it gets. Thanks!
Adodas lightstrike messed up the new adizero lineup. Old school foam from the 90s is the new trenc in Adidas 🤷🏻♂️
Hi Bro..wanna asking
Does boston 10 have carbon plate??or similar like that?
You should try the new Takumi Sen 8
Yeah I am hoping to give that a try soon, thanks!!
Boston 11 is awesome

Surprising shoe choice!
Gotta try it out!!
I CAN RUN OVER 5 MILES ME WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THAT IN LESS THAN 45 MINUTES
That’s great!!
Adidas ruined the Boston. The Boston 7 and 9 were real gems. That is a beautiful shoe though.
It sure does look good!

Thank you so much!! And you express exactly what I’ve heard from long time Boston fans, good to hear. I’ll try the Adios 6 soon!!
Yes the naming of the shoe is unfortunate. I think the Adios 6 is much more like the old Boston.
Never heard or had read one positiv Word about the Boston 10…you could ask me befor buiyng them, hope you geht them for free…;-)
Yeah the fans of previous versions definitely don't like this one, but if you take it on it's own it's got some potential.
