I’ve been trialing these for about 2 weeks now and have gone to parties, restaurants, bars, a 20 hour flight, and a very loud open office. I have to say that the spheric mode is amazing and for the first time in a very long time, I can easily hear people in loud environments. The battery life has been a point of discussion but when I’m not using spheric mode, I wear from about 8-mid night and they still have 60% battery. Add about 3-4 hours of sphere being activated and I’m finishing the day at 40-50%. I really didn’t think these would be that good but I’ve been blown away with them. They’re not perfect by any means and the non sphere modes have the same issues as every other HA but for the sphere mode alone, I think these are worth it and I’m replacing my oticons with them.
I've been wearing for about a month. Same experience with battery life. 5:30 am to 10:30 pm and still only down to 62-65% (I check every night) My days are quite working at home but very noisy start each day from 6-7:30 in a loud coffee shop where I know my sphere is going into noise reduction mode.
I got the Oticon Intent 2 months ago. Those replaced Oticon OPN-S. I had to return the Intent because I had 2 receivers fail in a month. I got my Phonak Sphere’s a couple weeks ago. Best hearing aids I have used by a long shot. But they do have a few issues. Biggest complaint is background noise complaints from folks I am talking to. However, these are so good in other ways that I bought the Rogers device
@@tripflycfiif you’re talking about background noise while on a phone call, your audiologist should be able to add some noise suppression to the phone call program, at least that could be done with older phonaks
I'm currently trial wearing these aids....90% positive experience so far. The one big hiccup I noticed is that the location function, in the app, was killing the battery of my iPhone 14. So much so, that I had to turn it off or risk my phone dying before the end of the day.
I've been wearing for about a month. I thought battery life was going to be an issue. Not so. 5:30 am to 10:30 pm and still only down to 62-65% (I check every night). My days are quiet working at home but very noisy start each day from 6:00-7:30 in a loud coffee shop where I know my sphere is going into noise reduction mode. And I use my phone (through hearing aids) for calls during the day. I probably stream videos an hour each day. With all that, I end up at night after wearing for 17 straight hours ( no 20 min quick charge during the day like i had to do with my Lumity R90s) and battery is still at aroumd 65%. I'm impressed and greatly pleased!
This is great to hear, especially with something that could potentially have been an issue. It’s great to know that even with a varied lifestyle they’re still going for a full day! Thank you for sharing your experiences JJ! Matthew
I meant to thank you for your videos. I've only been in hearing aids for a couple of months. Your videos were excellent and informative, especially for someone hungry for information at the start of a journey. Thanks again. Hope you see this! Regards from the great state of Texas!
Recently saw a review of the Oricon Intents, the reviewer said the wire that goes into your ear is much thicker than other premium hearing aides, is that true?
Matthew, Yours reviews are terrific. My wife has had the new Phonak Spheres for a month now. They are extremely comfortable. The technology is off the charts. She just leaves them in auto select mode, they run all day and work perfectly. Our Audiologist has not turned them up to full prescription as yet. That happens next week. Terrific quality and tech!
I sing with a Barbershop chorus, and with my current 4-year old aids, I have trouble with pitch, sometimes harmonics dominate my hearing over the primary tone I need to hear, and with hearing the accompanying vocal parts over my own voice. Do any of the technologies or capabilities better address this issue than another?
I need to update my hearing aides that I’ve had for four years. I am trying to decide between Phonak and Costco. I am about to retire and money is definitely an issue, but so is my hearing.
@@HearingTrackerI probably have genetic hearing loss. My recent hearing test showed that it has gotten a little worse than it was four years ago when I first started having problems. Do better aides help maintain the level of loss?
I'm surprised you haven't mentioned one of the biggest advantages of the new Sphere hearing aids. I've been wearing the Phonak Infinio Sphere I90's for the last three days. On days where you don't need the Spheric noise reduction program, the battery life is incredible. With 16-17 hours of use, 3-4 hours of streaming per day and no use of the Spheric noise program, I am ending the day with 60%-65% battery life still available. My estimate is that the battery will go 30+ hours on quiet days. This is a huge improvement.
I like that I am hearing this, but my one step back pair of P-90s only lasts from 7:30 am til about 7:30 pm. I use the blue tooth a fair amount though.
How would you compare the technologies of that of Signia's Pure Charge & Go IX Integrated Xperience and Phonak Audeo Sphere Infinio? I am trying to decide which to choose from the latest technologies that are now. And, by the way your videos are wonderful and very informative. A new subscriber. 👍 🙌
Audiologist here with a quick question. It's nice to see that the Infinio Sphere and Intent had the highest performance for speech-in-noise in the HearAdvisor tests, which has been my experience in fitting my patients; I'm just wondering whether they tested the ReSound Nexia, as it's the one major manufacturer's product that's not listed there. Thanks, and keep up the good work.
I unfortunately purchased the Resound Nexia 9 last November 2023 and have nothing positive about them. They had to be "fixed" almost every three months. The left hearing failed twice and then they quit working twice. After the third failure and some heated conversations they refunded my money (which has been a issue also). No I w/o HA while my insurance waiting for refund before I can get HA. Very frustrating experience and a waste of $4,800.
Battery life is not an issue for me. In wearing them all day, I have never seen the reserve go below 65%. I have Phonak Paradise hearing aids as a back-up but have not needed them. The battery charger also chargers quickly if needed.
Hi Matthew, excellent video, thanks. I am wearing Widex Moment 440's, two and a half years old. With them, music - brilliant, my voice - brilliant, wind noise suppression - rubbish, noisy environment - rubbish. I fully understand that any aid and its capabilities are only as good as the audiologist setting them up, and after three pairs of top of the range HA's in 9 years, I am a bit sceptical that any HA can provide what the manufacturers say they can. I did hear about these new Phonak HA's, so thought I would seek out my local, (I'm UK based), leading brand store, you know the one that pushes Phonak 🤔 I went on a trial walk around town and found them very comfortable, and when hitting that spot where the wind whips between buildings, found they handled the noise extremely well. I found general noise to be quieter than what I am used to with my Widex, but noticed as other shoppers walked out of stores, as they started to talk, I could hear them. The general sound was very pleasant although my voice sounded slightly different to what I am used to. I plan to get some of these on the companies 90 day trial Hope that helps Ian
Hi Matthew, just subscribed after finding your videos and the excellent content you share with us all. I have worn HA’s for over 15 years, my current ones being the CIC Signia Silk 5 which have been fine (being vain I wanted the very discreet type). However, after four years one went to the HA scrap yard and is currently being replaced, also I felt that I was starting to struggle with them , my wife tells me if I am saying ‘pardon’ or try to outguess the answer to a question etc This tempted me to look at what new technology is out there and my Audiologist recommended the Phonak Audeo Infinio Sphere i90. Whilst this is a ‘step backwards’ for me re my vanity, I have placed an order for them which I am hoping to receive within the next week, so hopefully great hearing days await me. I am enthused by the positive comments from your channel and will be happy to share my own experiences once I have worn them for a while. Thanks for the great work, appreciated. Paul🇬🇧
Hey Paul, what a great comment to read. Thank you for taking the time out to share your experience. Being the geek that I am, I think you’ll be blown away with the difference to your hearing. I would love for you to share your experiences after you’ve had them fitted. Stay safe, Matthew
@@HearingTracker Thank you Matthew for your reply, really appreciated. I feel already that I have made the right choice. I will get back to you shortly with my experiences. 🙏🙏 Paul🇬🇧 Ps nowt wrong in being a geek. Folk can learn a lot through geeks such as yourself 😎🤓
Hi Matthew, As promised, I would like to share my first weeks experiences since having my new Phonak Audeo Infinio Spheres i90’s fitted on Friday 25th October 2024. Nb I bought these from a well known high street company and saved £1000 v my usual independant audiologist. Sadly, after three return visits for adjustments’ the Infinio’s are not doing a thing for me🥲 My initial set up left me having to turn up the tv so basically no change whatsoever to my hearing at this point. I contacted the company and was given an appointment to see their audiologist (a different one to my first) whilst there she told me she and her colleague had never sold or had anything to do with these Hearing Aids as they don’t normally sell branded products? At my third appointment she told me these are brand new to the market They are waiting for training from the Phonak rep. Ok, during the first week of wearing, other than the tv volume episode nothing of note other than a feeling of being underwhelmed. However, on Thursday of last week whilst shopping at the Designer Outlet in York with my wife and eldest grandson, we sat down for a coffee, suddenly my head was booming with conversations around me, so much so I could hear these conversations in detail as well as speaking with my wife and grandson! During the next 4/5 hours I became nauseous along with a thumping headache which was still there on the Saturday morning. A similar situation occurred whilst at a theatre show on Friday night. I have ceased wearing them and gone back to my Silk 5’s whilst awaiting news (if any) from the Phonak Rep. Could all of this be down to lack of set up knowledge / experience 😢or am I a ‘special case’?😢 I would appreciate your thoughts.🙏 Sorry for the war and peace . Paul 🇬🇧
@@paulmackintosh9964 Hi Paul, hope don't mind me jumping in here. Yesterday I visited the "other" UK high street store that is £1000 more than the one you visited. This morning I have been Googling the difference between these two stores, as I too saw that £1000 difference in price. For these aids, I think you have answered the question. I have used, ok I'll use names now, Specsavers with my previous to current HA's, and I must say that audiologist seemed pretty good to me. I think some of the price difference comes with the after care. On visting Boots yesterday, I realised that they would still do adjustments on HA's purchased from them, prior to my Specsavers ones, even though they were well past their 4 year warranty. A similar question to Specsavers, (on old HA's also outside warranty), brought the reply of maybe, depends on the audiologist. My experience of the Spheres from a trial yesterday was very positive. Cheers Ian
Hi Matthew, I thought you might have replied in some way to my first and honest experience of the Phonak Audeo Infinio Sphere i90. That said, I have a further and much more promising update which I hope will be of help to others who have maybe had similar experiences to me. After 3 visits and little progress with my audiologist I suggested as the HA’s were so new to the market and due to the audioligist team not being fully trained, would it be possible for the Phonak Representative to visit the site and see myself with a view to a full setting up for me? They were extremely supportive and sure enough an appointment was made for me. The result was instantaneous! The set up for my prescription was done by the Phonak Rep along with my audiologist who benefitted from the session. My hearing is now really, really impressive, the functions on the app are tailored to me and what a transformation. My first and disappointing experience is a thing of the past, I look forward to a much brighter and happy hearing experience with the Phonak Audeo Infinio Sphere i90’s. To add, The Phonak Lady has booked a further appointment in two weeks for me as she would like to check on my progress personally along with my audiologist.😎👍 A MASSIVE THANK YOU to the Phonak lady and my audiologist at Specsavers for their patience, time and personal support to me. Absolutely amazing example of customer care service at its best. Kind regards Paul
As another Spheric user mentioned, the battery life of these is incredible. In a quiet environment I would estimate 30% better than Lumity R. Even when using the Spheric mode for 7 hours at our state fair, Spheric had more battery life left than Lumity would have at day's end.
Matthew, I tried for about a month the Infinio Sphere. the problem is that I can't wear behind the ear hearing aids. I just don't have the right shape ear to allow to comfortably wear the hearing aid behind the ear. When do you think that Phonak will come out with a custom for the Infinio?? Thanks for your videos.
I am interested in the ActiveVent receivers you mentioned. Where can I buy them? I looked online and they do not show the cone part of the receiver. Should I order them after I get the HAs seperately, once I know what size? Do they help with noise cancelation when listening to audio on phone or on a call?
Thanks for this very helpful video. I have mild/moderate hearing loss and my Audiologist (you know... the "one I should have gone to..!") recommends either the GN ReSound Nexia 9 or Phonak Infinio Sphere 90 to replace my existing 9 year old RIC Phonaks. My biggest bug-bear is the handling of music. I love 'good music' and am a singer (amateur choir and soloist) needing aids that don't get in the way of hearing both my voice and what is going on around me (without being flooded by the latter). Is one of these going to handle music better than the other, or am I going to have to consult an audiologist with access to a wider range (and spend more)?
So I just purchased my hearing aids yesterday and have a question. While using my GPS in my car I can hardly hear the driving directions thru my HA's. How do I fix that? I tried adjusting the volume on the App and that didn't work and did the same on my iPhone. It's very frustrating! PLEASE HELP ME! Thank you (:
You said you would put a link to the iPhone voice isolation mode in the video description. It isn’t there. I found online where you can set it on a per-call basis, but can it be activated permanently. I use Microsoft Teams calling at work with Audeo Ps.
I'm currently trying out the Sphere and I have to say I like them. I'm trying again to wear the behind the ear model....which brings me to my question. Do you have any idea if the sphere will be offered in a custom model? Thanks
Garrison I’m delighted to hear that, after you’ve been so anti RICs since I’ve seen you commenting on these vids. If I’m 100% honest I don’t think we’ll see them in the in the Virto style at all. Matthew
My audio person was raving about the Audio Sphere, I have been drooling ever since. My next hearing aid update is 13 months away. I’ll be using a bib to control my drooling until then. I’m watching every video I can until I get them in my ears. (Maybe by then it’ll be Audeo Spere 2)😂
My insurance only covers the level 70 and not the level 90. I currently am using a 3.5 year old More1 hearing aid. For the speech in noise how much am I losing with the 70 model.
I am currently so new to the world of hearing aids that I don't have any yet and may not! I have been tested by 2 of the big UK chains one says I need HAs the other says not🤔 so am waiting for NHS test. Having looked into this world for the first time I am completely shocked by the prices and also the premium charged by the big high street sellers (one if which is owned by same company as Phonak so you would think they could do a deal!) compared to on-line (£1,500 difference 😮). My question is are these high-end HAs so complex to programme that it is worth paying premium or do you get the same benefits sending audiology report to online provider?
Hi Richard! Welcome to the channel. Yes the world of hearing aids is pretty complex and it’s worth doing your research. It’s hard to convey how important the role of an audiologist is in the setup process. I’d personally find a decent, local independent audiologist who has access to all manufacturers and work from there. You won’t get the level of care, expertise, and contact from an online source. I hope this helps, Matthew
@@HearingTracker That's my inclination, I have used an independent optician for about 35 years (the same person!!) and although I may have paid a bit more I have felt happy with the decision especially when colleagues have sat there saying their glasses from "Should have gone to...” aren't quite right!
You didn’t mention the Phonak app at all. The one I use for my older Phonak Audeo hearing aids looks like the app is from Ancient Greece. On top of that, the devices connect and disconnect CONSTANTLY. Months of debug with Phonak support and no improvement. What’s your experience with the app and connectivity with older Phonak aids? Thanks.
Hi, I just been advised that I need to start using hearing aids, although to be honest I've known that for a few years. Due to vanity issues I was looking to use the "in the ear" type aids, however my audiologist recommended the "receiver in the canal" type saying that they have more functionality and more robust. He said that I had to go with the Phonak hearing aids as I had an Android phone and that doesn't support Oticon hearing aids, which I'm not too bothered about. However, my question is do the "in the ear" type have the same functionality as the "receiver in the canal" type and are there any reasons I couldn't have the "in the ear" type?
All hearing aids have wind noise, but when I went out on a windy evening I initially experienced wind noise, then the auto-programming kicked in and I was impressed with the improvement. It pretty much took it all out, even when I turned my head to get more direct wind into the aids.
@@TheLuftguy i hear once that the new oticon intent 1 had almost no windo noise because of the hearing shape and mic. location. Without noise cancelling feature like the phonak sphere then for wind noise
According to chatgpt "The Phonak Audéo Sphere is compatible with CROS technology." But also according to chatgpt: "The Phonak Audéo Sphere Infinio does not support CROS technology. "
Had these aids for four days now and have to say that I am not too impressed. Used them one day in very noisy situation for about five hours in automatic programme, and did not notice any background noise reduction, and still had 55% battery life after 14.5 hour used time, surely this is not right. I cannot see the 'spheric speech in loud noise' in my programme list, could this be the problem? Love your videos Matthew and have subscribed.
@@TheLuftguy Thanks for your reply TheLuftguy. I have been to my audiologist like you and had the programme added, so I need to try this in a noisy place, but looking good so far.
I'm still trialling the new phonak sphere's now after my first trail sets which were just actually imprinted (labelled trial) hearing aids and the trial hearing aids bluetooth streaming was superior to the ones I've been given as the real ones I've paid for but have 60 days if to get refund.
What I have found is that the Phonak Sphere has the most natural sound in all environments compared to other hearing aids I’ve trialed. The battery life is excellent in normal everyday use on the auto setting I’m still showing 70% at the end of the day. As pricing goes I think they they are good value for all the technology you get.
Hi may i know the price for a pair in USA? I have severe to profound hearing loss and am planning to buy this only so i can manage better at work, there's hefty taxes levied in my country.
Does it switch into AI mode automatically? If not then battery life is going to be an annoyance but not a deal killer. If it turns itself off it might be fine.
@@billmynatt5115 yes it does or can be added as a separate programme. I’ve been fitting them now for a couple of weeks and no issues with battery life reported so far. Matthew
Those hearing aids are 7800.00 $can here in Edmonton. That is double the cost of the Jabra and Phillips models at Costco. My concern is : Are they worth double the price?
I expect it depends on your hearing needs. I just went from Costco Resound hearing aids to this hearing aid. I hear much better. For me it is well worth the cost. What’s more, I heard that Costco hearing aids, including Jabra, are OTC (over the counter). Something to consider if you need Rx hearing aids.
I'm going from Costco aids to these. Is it worth money to hear in public spaces? For me the answer is yes. Before these aids, the answer was no, go to Costco, IMO. The Costco aids had similar tech and nobody had great speech in noise handling. But these aids are a revolution and worth the extra to hear in loud places.
Good Morning. Ive been wearing The Spheres (I90) for a week now and I have to say that they do very well in the speech in background noise ratio. I've only had experience with the Phonack Lumity and the Oticon intents to compare. However in the speech in background noise ratio, as I was able to hear everyone at my table (9 people) I had to concentrate. I did not experience the "Sphere" effect which they boast about and I did not feel that it was a mind blowing effect which Ive seen in your other video when they were launching them. Is it possible that it's a programing issue and if so what setting needs to be set to have this effect? My audiologist did set them for the 3hr Sphere exit limit but I never even experience being in it. To add I am wearing a Phonak vented dome. Thank you.
Hey Ckop thanks for your feedback. When you say you didn’t experience the sphere effect, you also say that you heard 9 people in background noise. Sounds to me like it worked…
@@HearingTracker It worked to the point that I was able to hear them, but as I said I had to concentrate on what they were saying. The Background noised was not muted or toned down (The Sphere effect) as in all the claims that are being made nor the ease of hearing in that situation. I believe that effect is supposed to make it easier to hear people and not have to concentrate as much.
Try restaurant mode and adjust the program so that noise reduction slider is at maximum to the right. Once you get it to.sound better, either adjust the restaurant setting to save the change or save as a new program.
So far battery life not an issue in daily life but wait for the CES test in January. A whole day & night in noise will put them to the test. Forced on Sphere mode and set them on my desk. Battery lasted 7:30 hours. So a long, noisy day may be an issue. Stay tuned...
Great video as usual really need to try these. Your videos are so much more professional than dr cliff . Top of the class and on points always. Thank you.
I so want a disposable battery option. I can carry them with me and be ready for anything in any unplanned scenario. Note we have to carry a charger with us everywhere. Real shame
Hello, I follow your great videos with great joy. I am Hard of hearing and lipread (which should be called face reading); I also use your captions. Now, reading captions with your arm and hand movement behind the words decreases my ability to read them, and I find it generally offputting. Please keep the videos coming, Cheers, Philip
Does the audeo sphere infinio come with possible use of an auxiliary microphone and what happens with the AI in that case. I have profound hearing loss and find the microphone invaluable. Great video Mathew.
Thanks for this. I am trying to decide if it is worth switching from my ReSound Nexia hearing aids that I bought within the last year. I have constant issues with feedback and getting custom ear molds hasn’t helped. My primary concern is hearing with background noise but I also like the long battery life of the Resound Nexia. I am glad that Phonak has changed the earwax removal system because their old system was horrible. With Resound I also have pretty consistent glitches switching from iPhone to iPad in ear hearing and the connection to the app is often a problem. So, waiting for my local hearing doctor to finish her testing of the new Infinity Sphere. Your videos are very helpful.
@@Serranomonza The new Airpods are meant to be supplemental so you can hear when they're in. They don't completely replace hearing aids. Get a set of hearing aids.
I spoke to my audiologist about these hearing aids. My question is how well will they work if I wear headphones to listen to music and watch TV. He said because of the size they wouldn't fit inside the headphones. May in the future they will be able to implement the technology in other CIC hearing aids, etc. Nice over thank you.
I use a TV connector and stream TV audio directly into my HA. You can do the same thing with music. And since your HA are amplifying according to your prescription the sound should be better than head phones.
Given how important it is to wear HA devices all day it is so discouraging that rechargeables will not last all day and no option for disposal batteries. And paying for top tier HAs, knowing that battery life will degrade in a few years is insane. I was so excited when I heard about the tech in these HAs, but until they figure out power management and offer disposable batteries, hard pass for me.
Hi Fred, not sure if you're in the UK but Specsavers are doing the Phonak Audeo Sphere Infinio i90 for £2995 per pair. Some suppliers are nearly £1000 more. Hope this helps.👍
Have these on trial at the moment but find they seem to drop the connection from time to time Also find the streaming via Bluetooth is not very clear, can this be addressed? Disappointed that there is no telecoil as I do front of house at our local theatre. How do these compare with the latest Oticon?
Hey Klass, great point. It's the history of the tech... In hearing aids, the term "receiver" actually refers to the component that converts electrical signals back into sound, which is then delivered into the ear. This part is often housed at the end of the wire in receiver-in-the-canal (RIC) hearing aids, which are quite popular today. The term "receiver" comes from older audio technology terminology, where it described the part of a telephone that converted electrical signals into sound. In hearing aids, the same principle applies: the receiver is responsible for creating the audible sound that the user hears. The wire itself connects the main body of the hearing aid, which houses the microphone, amplifier, and processor, to the receiver, which is typically located closer to the ear canal. So, while people might casually refer to the wires as "receivers," it’s technically the component at the end of the wire that holds this designation.
How soon would the 2025, or 2nd year of the Sphere's come out? Being new in 2024, and the large investment to purchase, would it be beneficial to wait for the 2025 model?
Matthew, Please request Phonak to release a compatible CROS with Sphere Infinio. It's a wish of single-side losers. Please review infinio (without spheres)with CROS soon.
Hi Matthew, Appreciate this follow-up review. Thank you. I have single-sided hearing loss. CROS set-up doesn't meet my needs in dealing with background noise. (Surrounding background noise entering good ear (e.g. noisy cooker fan) overcomes sound coming in from CROS transmitters) What do you think about putting the Infinio Sphere HA with closed dome in the good/perfect hearing ear, only for situation where I have to deal with conversation in noisy background noise situations (bar, restaurant, noisy traffic road, rumbling train or elevator etc.); situations which are easy to anticipate in advance? Would this work? Is adding Active-Vent required too to make this work?
Thanks for another great video, Matthew! My hot takes... Please let your Phonak friends know that there is still a significant block of users who are firmly on Team Disposable, so the slow release of those models only makes me want to look at alternate manufacturers instead. Similarly, until Auracast actually rolls out, t-coils are still a priority for some...particularly those of us who attend a lot of live theatre at looped venues. So that's 2 strikes for me on the latest line, as much as I'd appreciate many of the other updated features.
I just ordered these today and that was a key issue for me. I was told that, just like the Luminity Life, they come with a charger that has its own built-in battery. It stores two additional charges. That's a big deal for me because I swear I live in the power outage capital of the world. Power is always out for one reason or another, and then my hearing aids don't charge. This will be a game changer.
I have a severe to profound hearing loss, and as an american, i find it challenging to understand most people with an accent other than my own. However you are extremely eloquent, and your speech is very clear and understandable, your speech is incredibly easy for me to keep up with. Thank you for making this video 😊
I have profound hearing loss so even though, very expensive, I am hoping the positive factors will be able to make a deference for me. Enjoyed your review. As the 5 down side problems are not a deal breaking factor for me.
I won't even try them until they have disposable batteries. you just don't know when you won't be able to recharge, and I need them to be reliable. If the cost was manageable, a second set would suffice, but that's not an option. I wish the industry would listen to this feedback.
Hey Karen, great question. I’d visit an independent audiologist and they’ll be able to assess if they suit your hearing loss and challenges. They are rechargeable yes, however as outlined here were concerns at one point (now I don’t have them any longer) that they wouldn’t last a full day. Thanks for watching, Matthew
Once again Phonak will not allow single side deafness individuals to buy this product. So, I would love to see a review on the Infinio with a CROS. What's the battery life expectation and does it come with a smart charger? The other review I would love to see is a comparison between the Infinio versus an Intent 1 CROS review. There are a lot of people on Facebook looking for this comparison, as they know Phonak took the Sphere option off the table for CROS users. Thanks much!!
I was supplied with my first and only ever pair of hearing aids, Phonak ones, three years ago. They are not just useless: they are worse than useless. Apart from being uncomfortable to wear after a couple of hours, I have to take them out if someone is speaking to me. They function more like ear-plugs than hearing aids.
You also have to do your part and let them know what's wrong, and keep after them, especially on a trial. If they won't adjust them to make them work for you, find somewhere else. I have had bad ones, and some good ones and one great one, but because of the deal they had with the Military, I could only get the bottom of the line Oticon, and she did everything she could to get them to do everything I wanted, but just couldn't do it, and unfortunately they only dealt with Oticon, they said the deal with all of them, but they would never bring in anything else. So I found someone else. When you find a good fitter who really knows their stuff, the hearing aids can really make a difference. Don't give UP!
@@sheldons231 Thanks. Mine were supplied free here in the UK by our National Health Service. Soon after I got them, I called to tell them they weren't helping me, so they said I would have to have a "refit and agjustment". For that, there is a two-year waiting list. That was exactly two years ago. I phoned them a couple of weeks ago and they said I will probably be seen some time between November 2024 and June 2025.
I have been trialing these for the past two weeks and I'm underwhelmed. Speech intelligibility is not as good as the Signia Pure Charge & Go IX (fire the entire marketing/naming dept!) that I tried. Bluetooth connectivity is spottier than my previous Audéo Paradise. And an afternoon I spent on a farm with the bin dryers running, necessitating I use the Sphere, had me recharging them in the evening to last the day. They're better than the Nexias I tried. Trying the Intents next week.
These sound wonderful but one thing that has not been mentioned. My audiologist said if the batteries on my current rechargeable Oticon aids had to be replaced it is possible for her to order the batteries and change them in her office. With these new Phonack aids, the batteries, should they ever fail, can only be changed by the manufacturer. The cost is $400, each!! Something to keep in mind. Also I am wondering how well the Phonic app works - the Oticon app totally sucks!
I agree with the other commenter that the app works great! I trialed Oiticons for a little over a month while waiting for the Audeo Spheres trial aids to arrive. The game changer with me is how well they work with my android phone (Google Pixel 7). The transition to my car speakers, playing podcasts and displaying upcoming podcasts on my car's infotainment screen is seamless. Only one down side for me was the size, but it is function over form for me!
The new Oticon Intent no longer features field replaceable rechargeable batteries due to the size of the new ones. They too, have to go back to the factory, but Oticon has a 5 year warranty on the batteries.
I had my audiologist call Phonak to confirm that the Infinio Sphere was CROS compatable. It is not. The Sphere mode take too much power to work with CROS. You can get CROS with infinio but not if it has sphere. Bummer.
How about making reference to "hearing care professional" instead of just audiologist. I'm a hearing instrumental specialist in this field for 26 years and I personally know very few audiologists that successfully fit hearing aids. Your rhetoric also discriminates the HIS professional.
Which model of Oticons do you have?
I wear Intent 1 and love them! I'm also an audiologist with 47 years of experience, and 22 years of hearing aid use experience.
Hey Martin! Thanks for sharing. It’s great to get a mix of people watching. Matthew
Mark that really means a lot thank you!!! I am delighted to hear some user feedback. Thank you for sharing, Matthew
It is always a tough decision. Let me know if you have any specific questions. 😊 Matthew
@@HearingTrackerI probably have genetic hearing loss. My recent hearing test showed that it has gotten a little worse than it was four years ago when I first started having problems. Do better aides help maintain the level of loss?
The Philips 9050 at Costco is the same hearing aide as Oticon Intent, can't go wrong for $1499!!
Same for me.
Great feedback, thank you David! Matthew
How do they compare to your paradise?? Thanks
I did hear about these new Phonak HA's, so thought I would seek out my local, (I'm UK based), leading brand store, you know the one that pushes Phonak 🤔
I went on a trial walk around town and found them very comfortable, and when hitting that spot where the wind whips between buildings, found they handled the noise extremely well. I found general noise to be quieter than what I am used to with my Widex, but noticed as other shoppers walked out of stores, as they started to talk, I could hear them. The general sound was very pleasant although my voice sounded slightly different to what I am used to.
I plan to get some of these on the companies 90 day trial
Hope that helps
Ian
Hi Matthew,
just subscribed after finding your videos and the excellent content you share with us all.
I have worn HA’s for over 15 years, my current ones being the CIC Signia Silk 5 which have been fine (being vain I wanted the very discreet type). However, after four years one went to the HA scrap yard and is currently being replaced, also I felt that I was starting to struggle with them , my wife tells me if I am saying ‘pardon’ or try to outguess the answer to a question etc
This tempted me to look at what new technology is out there and my Audiologist recommended the Phonak Audeo Infinio Sphere i90.

Hi Matthew,
As promised, I would like to share my first weeks experiences since having my new Phonak Audeo Infinio Spheres i90’s fitted on Friday 25th October 2024.
Nb I bought these from a well known high street company and saved £1000 v my usual independant audiologist.
Sadly, after three return visits for adjustments’ the Infinio’s are not doing a thing for me🥲
My initial set up left me having to turn up the tv so basically no change whatsoever to my hearing at this point.
I contacted the company and was given an appointment to see their audiologist (a different one to my first) whilst there she told me she and her colleague had never sold or had anything to do with these Hearing Aids as they don’t normally sell branded products?
At my third appointment she told me these are brand new to the market
They are waiting for training from the Phonak rep.
Could all of this be down to lack of set up knowledge / experience 😢or am I a ‘special case’?😢
I would appreciate your thoughts.🙏
Sorry for the war and peace .

Cheers
Ian
To add,
The Phonak Lady has booked a further appointment in two weeks for me as she would like to check on my progress personally along with my audiologist.😎👍
A MASSIVE THANK YOU to the Phonak lady and my audiologist at Specsavers for their patience, time and personal support to me.
Absolutely amazing example of customer care service at its best.
Kind regards
Paul
As another Spheric user mentioned, the battery life of these is incredible. In a quiet environment I would estimate 30% better than Lumity R. Even when using the Spheric mode for 7 hours at our state fair, Spheric had more battery life left than Lumity would have at day's end.
Same experience for me. Very pleased.
That’s awesome to hear! Lots of users saying the same thing. Thanks for sharing, Matthew
Please review the Audeo Infinio non Sphere model Thank you for great information!
Hey Macdaddy (lol), it’s on the list so stay tuned , Matthew
@@HearingTracker I would appreciate this, too. I'm undecided which of these two models to go with.
Me too Mathew, I need the CROS system and so need the non Sphere. Thanks
Thank you for this very informative video! I just subscribed today! Keep up the great work!
Thanks for the sub! That’s great to hear 😊 Matthew
Always great information, Matthew. Kudos 🎉 Your delivery is excellent and your speed of speech is superb.
I recently became a hearing aid user. Your videos have been helpful in my device choices. Thank you, Matthew.
Happy to help! Lots more to come 😊 Matthew
I have sphere on order. Do your recommendations regarding adjustments for music from about a year ago still apply? Love your reviews.
Thanks.
Forgot to ask when I ordered mine today what's the manufacturers warranty on these?
Thanks for the video, looking forward to the demonstration of those sound files
Coming soon! I’m listening to them as I type!! Can’t wait to share. Matthew
I have Oticon hearing aids and an Android phone, and there is an app available. I use it all the time. Downloadable on the play store. Good luck.
Great review!
can anyone say if there is any windnoise with this new phonak? when walking outside in windy area
Have the same tests been done using their proprietary rationales? Is there any difference there?
According to chatgpt "The Phonak Audéo Sphere is compatible with CROS technology." But also according to chatgpt: "The Phonak Audéo Sphere Infinio does not support CROS technology. "
@@dbgriffi chatgpt vs audiologist!
The robots will never take over!
The Sphere is not compatible with the CROS. It's on Phonaks website that a CROS is paired with the Infinio.
Phonak Infinio RIC R has Cros technology
Phonak infinio Sphere doesn’t support cros technology
Thank you
This is why it pays to do your own research on the sphere🤣
Had these aids for four days now and have to say that I am not too impressed. Used them one day in very noisy situation for about five hours in automatic programme, and did not notice any background noise reduction, and still had 55% battery life after 14.5 hour used time, surely this is not right. I cannot see the 'spheric speech in loud noise' in my programme list, could this be the problem? Love your videos Matthew and have subscribed.
They should go there automatically, but your audiologist can add it as an extra program. I had mine do that today, but have not tried it yet.
@@TheLuftguy Thanks for your reply TheLuftguy. I have been to my audiologist like you and had the programme added, so I need to try this in a noisy place, but looking good so far.
which is better in terms of technology and easy to charge...Stakey genesis or Phonak audeo sphere infinio?
At the moment, Sphere. Matthew
thank you so much
Starkey Edge AI 24 is the newest.
Does anybody ever respond to questions here? Thank you!
Of course! Matthew
Great feedback Michael thanks for sharing with the world. Matthew
Matthew
can't seem to find anywhere... what is the size difference between the audeo infinio R and the sphere?
Will I see you there? Matthew
@HearingTracker I'll be at both EUHA and CES. Will be great to see you in Vegas, and in Hanover next month if you will attend
Great video as usual really need to try these. Your videos are so much more professional than dr cliff . Top of the class and on points always. Thank you.
In 12:30 you talk about battery life. Can I assume that you are not talking about the "life" of the battery but about the "charge" life?
Exactly that yes! Thanks Matthew
I so want a disposable battery option. I can carry them with me and be ready for anything in any unplanned scenario. Note we have to carry a charger with us everywhere. Real shame
I agree from a travelling point of view disposable batteries win for convenience. Everywhere else though I think that rechargeable wins! Matthew
Compatible with Roger On, but I’ve not tried it.
This sound promising and I will try them out. Thanks, handsome Matthew.
Hope you enjoy! From Handsome Matthew
I can't hear 60-65 percent. Should I buy this? Should I buy Apple Airpods Pro? What is your recommendation?
Hearing aids hands down! Matthew

I wish you were my audiologist! Where are you based?
What a lovely message 😊. I’m in London, UK. I hope you have a super audiologist who takes care of your ears. Matthew
I have an audiologist trying to charge me at total of $13,907.50 for a pair of I90 Sphere. Is this the normal cost or are they marking up the price?
Given how important it is to wear HA devices all day it is so discouraging that rechargeables will not last all day and no option for disposal batteries. And paying for top tier HAs, knowing that battery life will degrade in a few years is insane. I was so excited when I heard about the tech in these HAs, but until they figure out power management and offer disposable batteries, hard pass for me.
It is definitely a very real concern, however the batteries are lasting a full day atm! Matthew
A good reason to look into Starkey Edge AI 24 with up to 51 hours of battery life.
What is the price for these hearing aids?
Hi Fred, not sure if you're in the UK but Specsavers are doing the Phonak Audeo Sphere Infinio i90 for £2995 per pair. Some suppliers are nearly £1000 more.
Hope this helps.👍
Just saw my audiologist today and ordered them. In the US, (Midwest), they are $2199 .
Varies.
Have these on trial at the moment but find they seem to drop the connection from time to time
Also find the streaming via Bluetooth is not very clear, can this be addressed? Disappointed that there is no telecoil as I do front of house at our local theatre. How do these compare with the latest Oticon?
I just cannot understand why they still talking about a receiver while it is a speaker that produces the sound into your ear.
No cros? Are you sure?
Not with the AI for cancelling the noise.
100%
I mainly need them to last 8 hours at my job on full Spheric function
You might want to check out Starkey Edge AI 24. 51 hours of battery life.
Matthew, Please request Phonak to release a compatible CROS with Sphere Infinio. It's a wish of single-side losers. Please review infinio (without spheres)with CROS soon.
Super well balanced review - thank you.
Glad it was helpful! Always a pleasure! Matthew
Your reviews are so well done.
Wow! What a lovely message to read, thank you for taking the time out to spread positivity! Matthew
The best review you’ve ever done Matthew😊
Thank you Carla 😊
hey mathew, what about the fact the charger
… don’t leave me in suspense
I just ordered these today and that was a key issue for me. I was told that, just like the Luminity Life, they come with a charger that has its own built-in battery. It stores two additional charges. That's a big deal for me because I swear I live in the power outage capital of the world. Power is always out for one reason or another, and then my hearing aids don't charge. This will be a game changer.
I hope you soon test the New Cross phonak Infinio👍
I have been wearing these hearing aids for about a week. battery life has not been a factor
Is there any autosense program for speech in outdoors, such as windy conditions?
My hearing aid professional is being told that this hearing aid requires an ear mold. Can anybody who's using it tell me whether this is true or not?
Not true. I’m using closed domes.
Where can you purchase this type of hearing aid. Can't you recharge this aid. Why are you talking about battery life.
Thanks much!!
mee too. need a review on the Infinio with a CROS
App works great!
It’s just a lot of money out of pocket. LE Audio is my first priority after hearing quality. Touch choice.
I had my audiologist call Phonak to confirm that the Infinio Sphere was CROS compatable. It is not. The Sphere mode take too much power to work with CROS. You can get CROS with infinio but not if it has sphere. Bummer.
Yes I’m afraid so, no CROS with the Infinio sphere. Sorry dBgriffi! Matthew
7.7 Million oerations per second not billion :)
*Gazillion
How about making reference to "hearing care professional" instead of just audiologist. I'm a hearing instrumental specialist in this field for 26 years and I personally know very few audiologists that successfully fit hearing aids. Your rhetoric also discriminates the HIS professional.
Zero discrimination here whatsoever Raymond. Enjoy the video for what it is. Matthew
You spokw of the "speech in echo" still in autosense which I believe is not a true fact. It has been removed according to Target 10.0
I truly believe disposable batteries will be obsolete with in a few years, especially as rechargeable tech continues to get better & better.
No
"so guys now that I'm no longer under paid promotion..."
Haven’t been paid for a single Phonak Infinio vid. Nice try! Matthew
