    Thanks! I have a Ph.D in Chemistry, met Nobel Prize winners, worked 25 years as a chemist at Procter and Gamble R&D with some of the smartest people in the world, and within a week of finding you on TH-cam (to help me transition into IRacing) have concluded you are probably in the top 3 most brilliant people I’ve ever been exposed to. I am very smart myself, but will need to watch this content multiple times to fully absorb it. The Venn diagram of people who both understand and communicate multivariate systems has a infinitesimal small overlap.

    My thoughts after watching his driving: His brake input seems to be very irratic. He isn’t holding a constant pressure and then decreasing as the corner progresses. That and turning in too late sometimes makes him miss a lot of apexes
    Edit: I had no idea that was what you were focusing on. Instead of his braking being an issue it was the throttle application. The way you demonstrated it with the ferrari badge was top tier

    • @EduardN6448

      I think the erratic braking might also be due to his equipment, a brake pedal that uses a potentiometer (like the logitech G29 pedals) make it a lot more difficult to maintain a constant brake pressure than brakes that use a load cell (like in higher end gear).... this has been my experience at least

    • @chrisi7127
      @chrisi7127 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@EduardN6448 I use a thrustmaster TMX Pro and the pedals fucking suck. The throttle has no resistance and the brake barely any more. I know someone with a fanatec wheel and load cell pedals and my laptimes are usually seconds faster on his setup

    At 12:20ish driver says “this is like high school class”…umm…no. This is like graduate level class…with Nobel Prize winning Richard Feynman. Technical genius to understand it…communication genius to explain it folks much less intelligent that he is. Suellio has mastered this understanding and can explain it to us like we are five.
    Words don’t exist in to describe his abilities to understand and teach this content, other than maybe saying he is the Richard Feynman of Quantum Motorsports Dynamics…or maybe SuellioGPT 8.0.

  • @Pure_Racing_editz
    @Pure_Racing_editz 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Before: His braking inputs are very… interesting. That first corner was pretty good, but after that it was just very wobbly. He would brake, trail brake a bit, and then put on some more pressure, and his car would oversteer from it. His lines also weren’t very on point, missing apexes and straight just comepletely going off on exit. Throttle inputs seem fine, though he could probably control the car better if he managed the throttle more.
    After: So especially on long round hairpins, you want to brake, stay on the brake, at around 10-15% up until the middle of the corner. then apply throttle. Simple.

  • @nore8202
    @nore8202 วันที่ผ่านมา

    What I think he needs to work on is a little more proper trail braking because his rear loses grip on some of the corners reducing his exit speed times. Another is better track experience because he gets lost in long corners.

    I've studied vehicle dynamics for quite some time, and have been working as a race engineer for the last few years. I really thought I was pretty good at analyzing a driver and unpacking the deficiencies... until I watched this video. You are a brilliant teacher. The way you elegantly and yet very simply connected the dots between yaw, speed, deceleration and acceleration was really awesome. I remember trying to explain the same thing (why constant radius line is slow) to a student at the track one time but I don't think my poor explanation ever clicked with the student.

    Great explanation about the double apex - that is exactly what I needed to know to master that long curve with three green "apex marks" at Spa!
    ADDED:
    I revised my view on trail braking, apexes (and double apexes), and tried to embrace neutral steering and the result is AWESOME!! I was practicing on random cars and tracks in rFactor and then jumped into RBR to the Versme Rallycross track, one of my favorite RBR tracks. I was fighting with this one particularly (driving i20 2021 on custom settings), changed cars (on default settings) and could not improve. The biggest improvement was a few months ago when I upgraded from PS5 DualShock (gyro steering setup) to Fanatec CSL DD - that was 2.3 seconds and was not easy and quick result. But today I improved by another 3.4 s just in half an hour session on default car settings and not touching handbrake at all! That is so cool!! Thanks mate!!!
    P.S. The trail braking and its induced oversteering not only point the car into the carve but as the result helps driver to see more, especially on one monitor setup. It helps a lot.

    To me it seems he is not able to correctly address the transition between breaking and accelerating and vice versa, being too aggressive with the acceleration, too early. Also this leads to a loose back while breaking and a lose front while accelerating.

    Initial: The braking seems very decent to me, but the main issue I see is the throttle. He seems to be a bit erratic with it, going on and off several times with the corner, and a smoother application might help improve the balance a bit more. There was also a bit of oversteer, but that was caught so not a huge issue

    this pretty much sums up those AHA moments i've also gotten throughout the checklist. decided to start it a bit early before the end of my current league thinking i'd just binge thru it, then after my league really get down and dirty with it. but i've noticed that i'm subconsciously implementing concepts into my practice time, looking for mrp's, looking after the tires better, etc. i was in the horrible habit to drop the brakes completely once the car slowed down enough and just coasted about 25% of the corner in every corner... only 1 more race this weekend, 2hrs of nurbs, and then next week i get to install my first ever DD wheelbase, this will also mark the point in time where i fully dive into simracing.

    T6-T7 - didn't utilize first full apex, could go a bit wider on the T7 exit.
    T8 - missed first apex, didn't reach full out on exit
    T9 - didn't prepare well for the turn, tried to fix the exit of T8 and went too right on the exit (unnaturally) so had to go back left (didn't go left enough) so missed entry apex and then tried to accelerate too fast and overshoot exit
    T10 - a bit hesitant, not sure if it's the best approach to go mid track and not utilize these apexes.
    T11 - was pretty decent
    T12 - missed entry apex, went too slow, and then accelerate and overshoot exit a bit and had to overslow the car
    T13 - went a bit too slow into long corner and had to modulate the gas multiple times in-corner, to not lose the rear
    T14 - could go a bit deeper inside mid-corner, exit was good. A bit hesitant and inconsistent on the gas (probably felt he was loosing the rear).
    very nice driving overall, but lot's of time left on the track prbbly.
