I lost my sister at 21yrs, she bought this record on 45rpm, you could put the record players arm to one side, so the record could be played over and over again, she played it that much our father said 'bev give it a rest, even I know the words to the song!!! '....when I hear it now I get mixed feelings, one a reminder of her playing it, yet another that she's no longer here,......music seems to do that I guess....... 😢
There was a time in my life when i used to say "oh no. Not ABBA again". My mom was a hardcore fan. She would sing it everywhere. Car, kitchen, bath, bedroom, just name it. I grew up listening to their songs everyday. She passed away few years ago and the best memories of my mom and me are all filled with ABBA songs. And thats how ABBA became my favorite.
What is amazing about this great group is their biggest fans. Their concerts were filled with kids ranging from 8 to 14 years old. All their music is so well done, perfectly performed, and very easy to listen to. Maybe that is why the kids liked it so much. I enjoy it immensely. You haven't seen a group quite like them since.
Some of the best songwriters ever, and the girls' harmonies are insane. Knowing me knowing you, Chiquitita, Fernando, One of Us, When all is said and done, Slipping through my fingers etc etc. Their best songs have sad lyrics to a catchy tune and danceable rhythm, which is quite interesting. They were even bigger stars outside of the US, sold almost 400 million albums, and are in the top 3-5 selling bands of all time.
I first heard them in 1996 at age 13. My friends, especially the guys couldn't understand why i listened to this when they listened to "green day" and "nirvana". Its beautiful and makes me misty eyed. I imagined holding your curshes hand and skating under the disco lights and this came on. Its a feeling today's music doesn't come anywhere close to
ABBA exploded here in Brazil with this brilliant and wonderful song. It was a real craze, before the DISCO era. I remember those wonderful times - mid-1970s. ✌🏻😀🇧🇷✨🌟
I love watching the both of your reactions on the oldie songs. My great niece who is 5 now loves listening to your music with me. Some she likes and some not so much. But definitely loves hearing ABBA.
One to be played at all social events, it always gets the girls of all ages up dancing whilst the men throw another pint down their throats and join in and it's been the same for years, great stuff. Keep up the good work ladies x
Abba - Dancing Queen. It doesn´t get better than this! One of the greatest songs ever! 💯 Another great Abba: Songs you can add to reaction song list. When I kissed the Teacher, Eagle, So Long, S.O.S, Tiger, Mamma Mia. Thanks! For a great Abba reaction video!🙂

Thanks for the ABBA. Best band ever!! Did you know they just last year released a new studio album,"Voyage". First new work in 40 years. You might consider reacting to "I Still Have Faith In You" off it. Their all in their 70s now and it talks about their journey. Great song.
@@generationgapreacts That song "I Still Have Faith In You" was the first single off it. It's a Frida fronted song. The second single off it was "Don't Shut Me Down" fronted by Agnetha. They kinda go together - the first ask if they still got it and then they show they do.
🙂ABBA performed this song in 1976, the day before the wedding of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden, at the Royal Opera House in Stockholm. And in 2022, the King and Queen of Sweden, came to London to attend the ABBA Voyage concert at the ABBA Arena (Stratford, East London).

Hi Debbie, that’s a great idea! I’ve never heard of the movie, but I just watched the trailer and it looks like great fun. Oh gosh, where have I been. I definitely would love a movie night. Thank you for the fantastic suggestion. 😃
Hi, The name for your channel sounds like a pop group. DJ Says "And now here is Generation Gap with Listen to your mother. Its my favourite song for this month."
The chart hits are great but some of the lesser known songs are amongst their best. I suggest, "Andante Andante" and "Slipping Through My Fingers" for starters.

The terrible truth is that ABBA were pretty vast outside of the US. Back home in the UK they were almost treated as honorary Brits, with a series of No.1 records that would make modern artists blush with shame. Despite that, they never really had critical approval at the time. And I sense this is part of the wider phenomenon of pop gaining credibility in age.
If you guys ever get a chance see if you can react to Tom Jones: "I'll Never Fall in Love Again," Kenny Rogers: "Lady," Marcelito Pomoy; "The Prayer!" Just a few!
In my humble opinion, and I have talked to a few friends who have the same taste in music as myself, which isn't ABBA. We have mostly agreed that as a song, Dancing Queen is a perfectly written pop song. Probably one of the best pop sings ever recorded. There's not a wrong note or phrase in it. Benny and Bjorn could write a song.
