Are you kidding? $260 per week? $1040 per month? I pay close to a $1000 for a small 1 bedrm in charlotte N.C. and thats considered quite reasonable for this area. I have also lived in Beautiful Ecuador( Sangolqui ) and know rent is much cheaper, but I have never seen a deal like this! It is Beautiful!!!
My wife and I hope to retire in about 3 1/2 years. She is originally from Nicaragua and we lived in Costa Rica many years ago. We both speak Spanish and prefer cooler weather. We go back n forth of retiring in Ecuador, Colombia, or Arequipa Peru...or head to SE Asia where safety may be a little better ? We may have to visit a lot of countries to decide. In Colombia we are thinking about Rio Negro or Manizales. Ecuador...not really sure...probably Cuenca. Thanks for your great videos !
We hope to get to Columbia in February, then we are off to Europe in May. Unfortunately our South America schedule was derailed by Covid19 so it may be a while until we see Peru. In Europe Montenegro and Bulgaria are affordable areas to consider. We own a home in Kotor Montenegro currently, we are considering going to Bulgaria to open a Corp to register a vehicle, we plan on traveling full time so we won’t be doing residency anywhere for now. Check out Kotor Montenegro and Sunny Beach Bulgaria on TH-cam
Vilcabamba is not bad, it has a microclimate that’s got dry heat like Southern California in late June or late September. The coast and Amazon have a lot, higher altitude cities like Cuenca, and Cotacachi you’ll rarely see them.
Banana Patch it’s lower in Loja, however you should get to know Spanish since there is not a very large Expat community. I’d say Vilcabamba is pretty similar in price to Cuenca, the weather is great and there is an Expat community, the down size is that the town is pretty small.
What a dream place!
We thought so, and the price was great. 😁
Love it It's a beautiful 🏡 home
👍it was
Is beautiful a paradise❤
It is a nice place.
Excelente video gracias
We’re glad you liked it. 👍😁
Fine article. Why is it necessary to clutter it up with music? Some of the comments cannot be heard.
Thanks, we will try to do a better job.

Have you visited Ecuador yet? How are your plans doing?

We are currently in Matagalpa, Nicaragua. We have not been to Ecuador yet but it is absolutely on our short list.
Katy loves the place! I get the feeling she's decided to call it home 💜
LOL! She's a little sweetheart, and she enjoyed the stay. :-)
Looks wonderful but the link doesn’t work. What’s the name of the Airbnb or another link that works?
LOL, the dreaded suicide showers!!! Do NOT touch them or try to adjust them while they are on :-) Learned that in Manta one morning, "HELLO!"
😆 I keep thinking about Americans with electric water heaters and hoping they are not too different in concept. 😱
Great video warren. Incredible

Thanks for your reply. I’ve read that Yellow fever, Malaria & Dungee fever (not spelling it right) are a problem in Ecuador.
I assume Cuenca is a little pricier than smaller cities like Villcabamba or Loja ? Thx
