Aura helped me find a dream rental and I am so happy! I was shown many options and she was very conscientious to my needs. She is professional, friendly and trustworthy. She even contacted me after my first night to make sure I had everything I needed! I highly recommend her services.
Thanks so much for sharing both of you. It looks so lovely and peacefully there....can't wait 💕💓💕 A walk up and down will just be good and healthy.. Thanks again 👍
Excellent video interview. Really excellent. No fluff, just real serious substance. What are the situations about plumbing, electricity, gas supply, water pressure, safety requirements?
@@jolifarms-Ecuador Just asking about the quality of these infrastructure things in the city or cities for good plumbing, drinking water, electricity and blackouts, water cut offs, supply of gas in the apartments, houses, condos, water pressure, etc
@@dovygoodguy1296 There are water outages. In the 5 years we have lived here, we were without water 2 weeks one time. Since then, we have installed multiple storage tanks so we no longer have issues. Please watch our video on water here: th-cam.com/video/wySj9wo5LpY/w-d-xo.html and the other video on water here: th-cam.com/video/9KOFfs1fH9I/w-d-xo.html Water in the village of Vilcabamba is treated. Our water where we are is not. It comes from the Podocarpus park which is up very high on the mountains. It is piped to us clean and pure. We do have filtration just in case. When it comes to electricity, there are outages at time, usually after a heavy rain. Once we were out for about 6-8 hours. That was more than 3 years ago. It is rare now, and usually on last a few moments. This may or may not be true for more remote areas. Most gas here is in the 14 Liter bottles. These are $3 each and you change them out yourself. A few places in Ecuador have big tanks, but I have never seen them. Here in Vilcabamba, there are a dozen or so Tiendas that exchange them for you. The same applies to the Internet here. Very good quality high speed, fiber optic. However, once in a while it does go down. Usually less than an hour unless a major problem. We had these same experiences living rural in Texas and much worse. Work your way down through our videos, and you should find answers to many of your questions, If you can’t find something, please feel free to reach out. I am also available by video call on WhatsApp.
@@jolifarms-Ecuador Thank you. Do the apartments and condos in bigger places like Cuenca have the gas tanks? Are they ever fire hazards? Anyway, I'll go onto your videos. I liked your interview very much.
Love your videos, you have inspired us to add a day in Vilcabamba to our present trip. I might get a haircut while I'm there, if you have a recommendation. I saw you mention your barber in an earlier video but I can't remember which one it is.
@@jolifarms-Ecuador Thank you for the quick reply. We leave leave Salinas tomorrow morning for the drive to Loja, once we check into our B&B we'll have a better idea on which day or days we'll be in Vilcabamba.
@@jolifarms-Ecuador That would be much appreciated. We are just leaving Salinas and won't arrive in Loja until late today,, but if it's not an inconvenience we would certainly appreciate the tour, perhaps tomorrow or whenever your schedule permits.
Hi JoLi; great information, thanks! My question is about safety - is it safe to be living in the country outside of a gated community? For example, reining/buying a farm, if possible, is that safe to do? Cheers Roger
That's always a concern no matter where you live, But considering there was another Home invasion & murder about 2 wks ago in Vilcabamba it raises the concern even more.
You will find all: unfurnished, furnished and partially furnished. Ask for photos if you are looking from a distance. 👍 Thanks what we have done to find places to rent. 😊
Hi C L. Thanks for your message. Regarding your question, when landlords live in the are you definitely meet with them to sign a contract. If they are not in the area, the contract is sent thru email then they sign it and send it scanned thru email. Thats what we normally do. In the contract we also attach a copy of passport and the landlords ID.
Many people who move here decide to not own a car since Taxi's are cheap. Most move here to be more healthy, therefore walking is a part of their routine. I own a car since I live 4 kilometers South of town.
