Yooo, love that you're doing this video on Adrian! I went FSU at the time this all happened. I worked at the grocery store Publix that was closest to campus. All the players used to come in the store, and you had your varying degrees of swag from each player, but in those 3 weeks when he was riding high as a starter, he was more cocky, brash, and pouring with more narcissism than any player I had ever seen. If I remember correctly he had a white suburban with insane rims and he just thought he was the shit. You have to also understand that Florida State, had just ended a run of 14 years of top 4 finishes in a row after starting Chris Rix, a Freshman for the first time ever. We could all tell he wasn't the guy, so when Adrian came in and all of the sudden FSU looked like FSU AGAIN, he was basically a savior to "bring us back"... imagine what that did to him and his psyche. Now I for one, don't think he threw the NC State game. I honestly think the gambling debts were affecting him so much (I imagine he was getting threats) and it just got to him. Even as good as he is, if you have grown man pressure on you like that, this is still division 1 football and Adrian was immature to boot. So I think that led to the performance. Anyways, just wanted to add some context. I love how his story turns out and it really tells you, it's a real blessing for these players who do make it. There are soo many things that can go wrong on a path to a NFL career, but life is bigger than that and I think that's what his story tells. Thanks for doing this one and I like how you're breaking up the videos instead of doing a super long one. 🙏

Your research is amazing, please tell us about Dwayne Thomas, number 44, Tom Landry said he would draw up play and Dwanyn would turn his chair backwards n never missed a play, n he would warm up in the end zone by himself, ' he ran like Chuck Foreman, x Viking'.

Duane Thomas wore #33 and was comparable to Jimmy Brown with his combination of size and speed. Tom Landry has an entire chapter of his AUTOBIOGRAPHY titled: Duane Thomas!!! He was a BEAST, he just wasn't with the B.S.!

It's crazy to see this. I know him and seeing him play as a jit made everyone want to go to East. I was in middle school and went go to every home game because he was just that good. Oh his team was great as well but he took them to a different level. Pdub and AD made us jits want to go to Southeast and play.

I went to Orlando Edgewater in ‘01 this dude had 48points on us in a summer league game. Not to mention we were ranked #2 in 6A behind Ft. Lauderdale Dillard. So we were one of the best teams in the state when he dropped those 48pts. Dude was the real deal! Adrian McPherson, Antonio Lawrence, and Amare Stoudamire are the best I’ve faced out of Sate of Florida in basketball

(I don’t know how he ended up out there) . He was supposed to go to Florida or he could’ve opted to go straight to the NBA out of highschool. Remember him well. I don’t know how many players fall victim to gambling but it’s a much higher number than people can imagine I am sure. Even in Football, a sport where essentially nearly every year now you have a guy getting into the HOF who got popped for PED’s, even in that sport, gambling will still destroy careers. Sadly for this young man, he destroyed his before it ever really got started. I remember hearing about him going to FSU. The whole Mr. Football, & Basketball, that’s crazy hype! Considering I was 11 at the time, living in the Midwest, & hated FSU… this is before the big scouting sites too! This was the Parade All-American day’s. So, he was really that big. It’s a heart breaking story, but I am glad he has gained found some redemption.

I told him to play basketball when won Mr. Fla in football and basketball. After FSU it went downhill. We still got much love for him though.
