I played LT and DT at 6'3 325,i loved the game and had natural talent.. But if i only knew then what ik now. I had some knee issues and i didn't understand the bigger issues like nutrition and how to take care of my body and my work ethic was mediocre..i didnt study as i should have either..the whole point of this post is if you love football put in the work,really apply yourself and be somebody. The opportunities are boundless. I hope some HS kid or middle school guy comes across this. Be well

Sports Psychosis I’m a junior rn in HS, and I play LG and DT @ 6’0 240 but my HS isn’t a known Football school that makes D1 players. I also wrestle and throw shot put for T&F, but I don’t know why I don’t put enough time into my school work. Also I don’t know the process in trying to get into a college for sports and my family doesn’t really know either because we are from a different country. I don’t know if I am running out of time or I still have a chance to do something after I am out of HS. As I’m also still new to sports and all this college process stuff as I only started doing school sports as a Sophomore and am still learning abt what I need to do before I get out of HS. If anyone reads this and knows the process and has some time on your hands, pls lend out a helping hand. Thank you.

Interesting story man. When I first went out to play football, I actually wanted to play o-line. I didn't know any better. But the coaches saw my athleticism and forced me to play tailback + wide receiver. Thank goodness for my coaches lol
my coaches were the opposite lol. I wanted to play corner, receiver, or running back because I was (and still am) a scrawny, speedy guy. Where did the coaches put me? D-lineman - against guys up to twice my weight
Even though I'm from North Dakota, and its a little bit different of a culture than the southern US, I have so many relatable things that happened throughout high school. I graduated 3 years after you, but it was just nice to hear your story and knowing we have more than I thought in common. Ill say your videos are great and you do an awesome job, and I've seen your videos get better, and better throughout the years. I'd been watching your vids for bout a month now & I like the fact that you have given your subscribers good content on people that I watched growing up in sports. This video by far is to me 1 of your best videos because when I watch your other videos now I can see that when you talk about the people that you speak on you're coming from a place of experience & understanding. It's powerful when you can relate to people that have made mistakes or missed out on opportunities by sharing your own story. I don't have an extensive sports background (playing that is) But I did play some baseball as a kid & I watch sports every day, the big 3, football, baseball, & basketball. My background is military & although they are different, sports (football specifically) share a lot of commonalities. From a close brotherhood, physical training, being lead & learning how to lead, from putting in the extra work to be the best leader that you can be, earning respect from you peers, to just being "That Guy". I went to southern too I came in the year after you I thought about walking on just to work out cuz I missed the sport but saw how early everything was and said I can just maintain on my own....the experience from southern was nice I wouldn’t want to trade going there for anything in there world thanks for sharing your story man keep up the work doing these videos

Almost feels like the story of my life and countless others in East Texas. I was just in the streets, had to switch schools, all that. Trying to mentor these kids in my area thru sports and other avenues so that they don't become a has been or never was. Great vid.
This is fascinating!! My story was that I went to this fucked up catholic high schooling in San Francisco. It was for rich kids, so why I was there, I never knew. Anyway, I was big. 6'3", about 175 as a 14 year old. I was fast but all they could see me do was play offensive/defensive tackle. Nothing wrong with my line brethren, but that wasn't me. I was a WR/DB. Coaches kept sayin I had to S&C year round to play line. Said fuck naw, but by then, I had grown to be 185, without lifting. And this was back in da 80s, where 220/230 was considered real big for hs. So they put me at DE for the scout team. I was chasing down RBs, WRs, anything I could do to prove I could play away from line. Never could convince coaches I could do it. But we were gettin killed, everyone was gettin hurt, so they threw me in at DE in one early season game. Didn't know what the fuck I was doing, but we were down by 30, so what. Anyway, the other teams RB breaks away on the other side of the line. I was so angry that no one took me seriously that I chased that motherfucker down at around the five. Ran so hard because I had to prove to myself that I had the speed. Coaches acted like they had never seen this before and told me next year I'm a WR. Happy as fuck, work out all summer, first week of school, get into a fight with a weird teacher, get kicked out, end of football. Always wonder how it could have been.....

When someone continuously tells you how great they are and that their that guy and there’s always an excuse for something instead of just telling the story then that’s not being humble. I like his videos too they are informative and well put together but that doesn’t mean someone who likes him can’t call him out on some bs.

I went to southern too I came in the year after you I thought about walking on just to work out cuz I missed the sport but saw how early everything was and said I can just maintain on my own....the experience from southern was nice I wouldn’t want to trade going there for anything in there world thanks for sharing your story man keep up the work doing these videos

Almost feels like the story of my life and countless others in East Texas. I was just in the streets, had to switch schools, all that. Trying to mentor these kids in my area thru sports and other avenues so that they don't become a has been or never was. Great vid.

This is fascinating!! My story was that I went to this fucked up catholic high schooling in San Francisco. It was for rich kids, so why I was there, I never knew.
Anyway, I was big. 6'3", about 175 as a 14 year old. I was fast but all they could see me do was play offensive/defensive tackle. Nothing wrong with my line brethren, but that wasn't me. I was a WR/DB. Coaches kept sayin I had to S&C year round to play line. Said fuck naw, but by then, I had grown to be 185, without lifting. And this was back in da 80s, where 220/230 was considered real big for hs.
So they put me at DE for the scout team. I was chasing down RBs, WRs, anything I could do to prove I could play away from line. Never could convince coaches I could do it. But we were gettin killed, everyone was gettin hurt, so they threw me in at DE in one early season game. Didn't know what the fuck I was doing, but we were down by 30, so what. Anyway, the other teams RB breaks away on the other side of the line. I was so angry that no one took me seriously that I chased that motherfucker down at around the five. Ran so hard because I had to prove to myself that I had the speed. Coaches acted like they had never seen this before and told me next year I'm a WR.
Happy as fuck, work out all summer, first week of school, get into a fight with a weird teacher, get kicked out, end of football. Always wonder how it could have been.....
