LOL. I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT 2 YEARS HAD ALREADY PASS SINCE THE OLYMPIC QUALIFICATION GAMES. I CAN STILL REMEMBER HOW FETISOVA GAVE THE TEAM RUSSIA A HOPE. SHE IS THE TEAM'S LIFE SAVER AT THIS GAME.

Why did the korean team replace kyk in the 4th set? Bad decision making 🤦🏻♀️ the koreans have the edge to win with kyk inside the court 🤷🏻♀️
they already lost the 3rd set because of her. at the beginning of the 4th set, the russian blockers were still very effective against kyk. if they keep playing like this, they are just draining kim's energy. so they wanted kim to rest, recover and do well in the 5th set. but kim is over 30 years old now, she was tired and didn't find a way to spike more effectively till the end.
Too bad. Korea already leading on set 3 and set 5 but unfortunately block by block and mistake by mistake by them make them lost to russia 2-3 . But its okay. Still got asian qualify. Must be hard to play with thailand then.

this video missed the most exciting and import part: the end of set 3. Korea was leading 22: 18, then Kim was blocked 4 times and had 1 unforced error just within that 3 minutes, giving away the set. Korea was totally shut down thereafter

A Corea le pasó lo que le ocurrió a Perú en la final de Seúl 88. La ex Unión Soviética le volteó a Perú el partido luego de ir perdiendo 2 a 0 y 13 a 8 en el tercer set. Al final ganó el oro. Aquí, Rusia nuevamente voltea un partido casi perdido. Podría confiarme con otros equipos, pero nunca con Rusia. Felicitaciones por la clasificación y a Corea, por jugar tan bien.
Exacto, Rusia tiene fama ya volteando marcadores, con Brasil en el 2004 y 2012 aunque ahí perdieron, vs usa en el 2014 y otros más y siempre son en momentos claves, la verdad que la frialdad mental es algo característico en ellas.
Korea perdió su gran oportunidad de clasificar a Tokio 2020, ahora se verá las caras con Thailand que le ganó las últimas 4 veces que se enfrentaron
En realidad para ser sincera korea tubo un grupo relativamente fácil Canadá y México son equipos menores en cambio Thailand enfrentó a Serbia (sub campeón olímpico, campeón europeo y campeón mundial) a Polonia un rival fuerte de Europa tuvo que ir a 5 set para ganarle en fin de no suceder nada raro Thailand debe clasificar a Tokio 2020, se lo merecen 😊

How can you call this 'highlights' when you didn't include the clutch plays of fetisova at the end of set 3?
i remember seeing a highlight of club world championship, the case was quite similar, Eczacibasi was leading 2:0 and 24:19 but finally lost the set 24:26 and lost the match 2:3. at the end of 3rd set, KYK and boskovic were both blocked twice by the opponent Brazilian team. the highlight never included the blocks. it just jumped to the 4th set.
@@edwardk8477 right? The person behind uploading these vids don't even bother showing the last point in every set, some clips get repeated, and sometimes show an 'outside spike' as a highlight. He might want to just call them 'random plays' instead of highlights. Fivb can hire a better one.

Suffer for the Korea team set 3 22-18 can’t close the game.
KYK is relied on WAY TOO MUCH! Of course she is one of the best Outside Hitters in the world, but as soon as Kim was getting blocked and making mistakes the rest of the Korean team didn’t know what to do. This wasn’t KYK’s loss it was her teammates.
Korea should have won in three sets but this is a sport if the referee doesn't whistle the last point u always have a chance. This match Russia showed their strong mentality when they were up against the wall

I wish to see this Russian team like gamova era which was almost strong every position. This team has a lot to do to be a strong team like before. Russian wing spikes are not consistent and also the setter who always distributes high balls to spikers which is not volleyball style nowadays.
True enough! While other teams' plays are improving with lower sets even to the outside hitters, russia still sticks to high balls and still barely sets up their middles for quick plays. High balls were only effective when their team had the artillery of gamova and sokolova, but with their current wing spikers they won't really go far.
And we want to change it, but not our team coach, they relay on the strong and high spikes, our reception doesn't give a chance to play fast with middle blockers, just hope that our youngsters (like Matveeva and Kadochkina) will give something new to the team
This is the last chance for goncharova and kosheleva to get a medal in the Olympics. They are in their 30's

Maybe if Russia has a better setter, their spiker’s performance will be way better. If they can develop a setter that is as skillful as Serbia’s Maja Ognjenović, then Russia will also be a monster team. For the past years, they really lacked good setters. Also during the Rio Olympics, Kosheleva & Goncharova was totally on shape but their setter Pankova played very poorly.
Startseva is a great setter, the pass and defense are their problem, With Startseva won 2 world Championships
Maria Makiling Startseva is the best setter they have after after Vasylevskia and their golden years. She had a World Champs under her belt.
I know that Startseva is a good setter but her efficiency is mostly dependent on her team’s passing ability. I also know that setters can’t make a good play if the pass is not good. But she must learn how to still be efficient through quick decision-making even though her team is not passing the first ball that good. I have seen a lot of setters who are still very efficient even though their team is not that great in passing. But I still commend her because she is so much better than Pankova. I can never forget how Pankova performed during Rio. It was the worst.

@@briandavemakiling7084 Startseva's decision making is just fine. Don't even know what game you are watching. Precision is more questionable but that's the result you get when you can only make a good pass out of ten attempts.
