Anderson Cooper's "Spare" review was weak..really useless journalism..it's right up there with Oprah's rubbish interview! The proof is in the tasting of the pudding 🍮 😋 . And Anderson Cooper pulled the Harry "Spare" interview off TH-cam 😋👌 Check Mate!! I dare any of those who interviewed Judas aka Harry, to let him live and hangout with you for a month..and then tell me your Views about him?!!! 😏 Face it ..Harry's nobody's man! And once you've done Milking his Whinging about.. "Milking his Mother's Memory" and "Selling out his Former Royal Family" ..None of yous journalists and entertainers will give his toxic, twisted, weedy weak, treacherous ass the time of day!! Well, only a r@t would sell out their family for £$£$£$ the way the Harkle's have!! So save us all from this Harkle's Tripping, on their, "Narcissistic pseudo messiah, let's make loads of money Trip!!"💰 🤑 💸 😉 Nobody likes or trusts a r@t.. You were warned ⚠️
I think it is called evil which I believe exists. The best thing for mental health is to forgive and to keep busy and active. It is evil justifying itself and calling itself good.
Harry's great grandfather was also a "spare". Yet, he rose to his duty. And, in spite of his impediment, lead his country through one of the most trying times in it's history.
Well I’m glad he’s the SPARE. He would be a disaster as King. He said he wanted a “Private” meeting of reconciliation. I’m guessing if that “Private” meeting didn’t go Harry’s way, the private meeting would suddenly become “un-private ” another book and Netflix series would soon appear. I hope the RF remain silent. Best medicine for Harry.
He has form. He told Gayle King that the talk with his father and brother was unproductive. He ran to Hoda about conversation with the Queen. He then had Omid Scobie leaking his stories throughout Phillips and the Queens passing. He paid millions not to charity oh no, but to Sunshine Sachs to plant their stories in the papers. And Harry did not start Invictus...he was the figurehead es and took the credit. But look back and it was a project William and Charles founded for Harry cos he was doing nothing else. Charles funded the inception and the staff that do the actual organizing. William made his own donation of £ 500 000 to it each year its been held. Harry billed it for his and Meagains expenses but gave them nothing . He used them for PR photo op for his wife and himself...he couldn't care less for the veterans.
Well, first there must be, in Harry’s view, a sufficiently grovelling apology from his father and brother in particular. For all the real and imagined slights of himself and for their failure to admit the staggering brilliance of his wife. I am fairly certain that, under those conditions, any sort of reconciliation is going to be a long time coming.
when Prince George was born, he was no longer the spare, his position in the line of succession has dropped to 5th. provided his title is not removed, which I hope will be soon.
Apropos of that, the previous contemptible narcissist in the RF was the Duke of Windsor. Unfortunately he was the heir. That's why he had to be removed, so the Spare, the very opposite of a narc, could save the monarchy & the country. David was a vile, sick person but when compared with the Ginger Whinger he appears classy.
Yes, I suspect that his tirade about trying so hard to speak about these things privately is double speak for trying so hard to get them to agree 100% with his narrative and when they didn't, we have the current state.
True. But I find he is lacking self-awareness to an extraordinary degree. This is a guy who has lived his entire life in tremendous wealth and privilege - certainly by comparison to any average person. He is someone who will now live the rest of his life in very great comfort and complete financial security - and without ever needing to do anything remotely resembling real work. For me it defies belief that somebody like this would want to go out there and tell the world how _bad_ his life is! He does seem to me to be a (pardon me) complete p+ss-taker! But he also seems entirely oblivious to this fact. It is almost comical.
Indeed. The same can be said of approaching all suspicious situations as definitely being born of conspiracy. Rather than looking for an answer, one looks for proof of conspiracy. This comment is not, under any circumstances to be taken to mean conspiratorial people/activities do not exist, of course, and in the same way there are obviously real victims in the world, too.
@@staninjapan07 It is both human nature and logical to mistrust any individual or group that has been proven in lying to you. It does not mean that they lie all the time, it is just reasonable (if only in terms of self preservation) to assume that they might be lying again, whilst looking for your 'answer', when approaching their 'suspicious situations'.
Mind you you get people like Angela Rayner (Deputy Labour leader) who are now financially well off but who still play the victim card and try to make people jealous of others. Humans are strange creatures.
As someone who has struggled with mental health issues and learned how to navigate and negotiate round the obstacles and not just by my own deep thinking and working it out (not paying someone else to do the thinking for me) but also putting Trust in God,the same one who presumably created me this flawed, the ......rude word.....but I've come to realize I was destined for a Life Less Ordinary but not necessarily glamorous and successful. Just different. So it irks me a lot when fabulously sexy, beautiful, charismatic, wealthy because they're ....etc latch onto the latest syndrome going and claim it's the secret of their success. It happened with dyslexia,it started off as a problem needing remedial help then Richard Branson for one revealed that he was dyslexic which was why he hated school and left and built up a millionaire + business because he didn't think like ordinary people as his brain was wired differently. That must have been comforting for a single mother coping with a non-communicative, aggressive little boy, knowing he'd be a billionaire one day. And since then every syndrome gets coopted, from autism to bi-polar and from being a problem needing treatment becomes an inspiring form of creativity and most important makes it's glamorous claimers look even better. Theyre not at the top of the heat because they look so stunning and are funny and witty so worth inviting to your party and getting that contract. No,it's not been EASY fir them, they've struggled.
Glad to see you weigh in on the matter of Harry's guerilla war, Dr. Starkey. The man, in my opinion, is a walking morality tale about excessive self-indulgence and self-absorption.
@@gardenroom65You are NOT paying attention, or you can't read. Like his uncle Andrew, Harry has nothing between his ears. (if you're American, you are unlikely to notice the quality of their diction and vocabulary). Both are archetypal entitled, upper class "twits" as we used to call them in my day. He was definitely waiting for his grandmother to die before releasing his book. Shameful!
The circumstances around my father's death at age 12 was devastating to me and my siblings. My mother was left ill-equipped to cope (over 60 years ago) and was left floundering, drowning in alcohol to cope. My upbringing was both fractured and dysfunctional but to BLAME my mother would be the very last thing I would do, and to do it publicly would be absolutely impossible! I am not a victim, I am someone who survived the trauma of my childhood by believing in myself and my ability to overcome. Harry found someone who cultivated his grievances and advanced his belief that he had to even the score, and here we are. He is a celebrity now, and I dare say both he and his wife are loving it, this will not end anytime soon.
As an old Psychiatrist, I am so happy you made this video. Your description of the brat was Excellent !!! The "Gurus" that prey on selfish people have found a gold mine, as they free him from the very notion of Responsibility (now it is always some else's fault). The toxic cult was so very well described. Thank You Sir !!!
It has been postulated that he is now suffering from paranoid schizophrenia brought on by drugs, assumed to be magic mushrooms. Can this condition be brought on by the use of such a substance?
@@davidsauls9542 perhaps he can reframe walking behind his mother’s coffin as a great honour to her memory- take a more strength based view of his life- rather than rehashing the negative!
I think more of the bully who finally gets overpowered by his victim, and when they push him off he starts crying because "you're bullying me! Stop hurting me, I can't believe you'd do this, you owe me an apology!" And when his victim gives no apology, he runs to the teacher and says they were bullying him.
I don't believe there ever was an old Harry. Under the auspices of the creature he chose, his true self was unveiled. Your commentary is deliciously eloquent and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you sir
I think, perhaps, Old Harry was still operating with a state of mind that resulted from the conditioning, training and camaraderie of service in the British Army. Now that some time has passed, and he has been subject to very different influences - as a seemingly very impressionable young man - even the most solemn aspects of his service have become mere tidbits to help sell a book, so that as many people as possible hear him whine.
@oopsydaisy007 agreed, entirely. My admiration of the Palace's PR dept in keeping his true self so well hidden and creating the loveable, mischievous image for him knows no bounds.
@@geraint8989 One of the problems Harry and Meghan have (and for some reason the media) is that they are still a young man and a young woman. No they aren't! They entered adulthood long ago.
Indeed. I don't follow much celebrity etc, but it has been my guilty pleasure for over a year to casually read a gossip forum about Harry&Meghan. Through that I've gotten the impression that the Invictus games weren't really something Harry came up with, but rather something copied from
Hi Mark, yes a bad woman can bring out the worst in a man, and love the power that gives her, but a good woman who really loves a man can bring out his best side and revel in the joy and thrill of it.
Excellent comment it's so sad when you see someone taken over body and soul. Harry is no longer there he is just meghans mouthpiece of hate. Soon it will be his turn she will devorce him using the drugs he stated in book. She will get kids and heavy maintenance - set up for life because she will go on to produce her own books gaining millions. Escaping Harry Escaping the Monarchy It's a sad day he did not see the enemy - social climber. But OH! DIDNT SHE JUST SEE HIM AND HOW IT COULD ELEVATE HER
It's almost as if there were an ancient quote for this exact tragedy : "For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul."
It is sad. To do this to your family, then claim to be a victim, is beyond belief. I share my anniversary with Harry and MeGain. I happen to know that it is also the same day that Queen Anne Boleyn lost her head on the block through the pique of Henry VIII. It seems that Harry is intent on cutting his own throat by telling nasty stories about his family in public to garner sympathy for his "plight". Sorry, but I'm not buying what Harry is trying to sell.
Which is precisely why they don't let us see him on mainstream television any more. They don't want the British public to be reminded we have a backbone.
Go rest your self old man. I know you need they money. But us American not buying what you are selling. For they not so bright Harry he have sold 1.4 million books…"he have created Invictus……..you don’t have to approve. But you don’t get to dictate how he lives his life. bye, your son he is not.
The thing that strikes me about the stream of recent revelations is how (to use wokish terminology) "tone deaf" much of it is. So many people in London struggle to pay rent with no chance of ever getting on the property ladder. Yet Prince Harry was _aggrieved_ that somebody was actually allowed to park in front of the window of the (no doubt very luxurious) free apartment provided for him in a Royal Palace!? The poor dear was so _traumatised_ by being pushed into a dog bowl after some kind of hissy scuffle with his brother that he felt the need to talk to a therapist! Really? Yet he was relatively relaxed - apparently - about taking the lives of 25 Afghan peasants, having done so at great distance using high-tech weapons, and with little real risk to himself in the process. But they were just chess pieces, right?? As David says, almost all of the grievances seem rooted in such ridiculously trivial things. He complains of being given a "withering look" by one of the Queen's staff after some disagreement about a diamond tiara - incidentally an item probably worth far more than most people could save in an entire lifetime! He even wants to blame someone else for his decision to wear an iffy costume at a fancy dress party - although he was an adult at the time, in the Army, and deemed fit to carry a weapon. But when it came to a fancy dress costume, he vos just obeying ze orders from his Bruder? Well, maybe that Nazi costume was about right for him, after all?? Almost everything he is saying seems to drip with a kind of petty weakness mixed with a pompous sense of entitlement. Urgh!🙄
I have to say I agree with the car blocking light problem Harry has complained about 😂 I haven’t yet read what happened but if he’s only complaining now shame he didn’t take this up with staff member or helped allocate another space at the time. I don’t believe his position held no power in this way!
@@slock7803 A free apartment in a Royal Palace in central London with 24-7 armed guards and at least some access to domestic staff, but maybe not the best daylight....hm...I think most people would take that deal...y'know...😵💫
BTW I'm not saying that a person in his position can't have stresses or problems, etc. It's just that he seems singularly lacking in any wider perspective! His life always has been (and always will be) one of tremendous comfort and privilege compared to 99.99% of people! But he wants the world to know that he's got it BAD because of, basically, petty jealousies, family squabbles, trivial irritations, and perceived "micro-aggressions" (to use another word Megan has no doubt taught him.)
thats because his history is far right revisionist, it fits with your profile photo and I assume that you are a balding short fat guy living with your mom
Sorry to say, I never was a fan of this guy (Harry). He always seemed rather cruel and spiteful, spoilt and self obsessed! He was allowed to get away with bad behaviour as a child and wasn’t given boundaries. An individual I would avoid at all cost! Thank you for this podcast Dr Starkey.
It's amazing how he's gone from being almost universally loved to universally reviled in the space of about 5 years. As an American, I can tell you that even the Americans who haven't followed the story of his estrangement from his family closely have grown sick of his constant complaining & he is looked on as a figure of ridicule.
@@stephennutkin2477 He was well on his way to being a dick before he met her. She's almost as bad mind. I only say 'almost' because Harry was alright once so it feels like a loss. She, on the other hand, has always been a twat.
it is sad to understand that he seems to have had these pent-up feelings during his life. Both he and his brother had the trauma of their parents very public divorce & then the death of their Mother but so have many other children. From what I saw at the time his Father & his Step Mother and family tried very hard to shield him & give him the love & suport that he needed. The British public rejoiced in his laddish capers and were quick to forgive his youthful 'errors'. We were proud of his military service & of his charitable endeavours such as the Invictus Games. His transformation into what he has become is an enormous disappointment for us all.
I do wish the media would resist excusing some of his misbehaviour by referring to the fact that he's "carrying baggage" as the result of the death of his mother. In truth he chose to marry a very calculating woman who has led him so far down the rabbit hole he can never come back.
There are millions of people who are carrying tragedies from their childhood who move on to make their lives livable and successful. And many did not have the money and resources he has had. You choose to move on or not.
Has anyone else noted the conspicuous absence of Meghan in the last weeks since he began his publicity tour for this dreadful book. I can’t escape the cynical conviction that this is a calculated move on their part, to put a little doubt in those people’s heads who were apt to blame the entire tawdry display on her. Meghan needs, very badly, to do something to regain some of the lost shine to her public perception. Truthfully, it hasn’t changed my opinion of her, her words shine through several passages of that book and Meghan certainly is a person who believes very firmly in revenge and in punishing anyone who crosses her. It is, in part, why Royal life could never satisfy her. Inevitably there will be negative publicity and the philosophy of never explain, never complain is simply antithetical to her DNA.
Have you never been led astray by someone you fancy?? Besides, blood is thicker than water and also, for now he remains a Prince of the Blood and a Royal Duke. He's hardly going to be on the streets is he even if/when it all goes tits up with the woman. The other aspect of that is that it wouldn't be a good look for The King to rebut any attempt by Harry to reach out. Whether Charles likes it or not, so long that Harry went about it in the right way, it would be impossible for the King not to forgive him (or at least give the public appearance of doing so). Additionally, if Harry "loses it" much more than he already has, it would likely indicate a real, psychological illness - again, in which event his brother and father would want to step in and help him anyway, asides from the official aspect of particularly William's involvement in mental health charities. Time will no doubt quieten the monster and no doubt, unofficially, texts and emails would tentatively be exchanged and all would be right and well - ironically Charles should, of all people, understand being in love with an "unsuitable" woman who persevered with her even while he married someone else - OK, whilst there was a bit of argy bargy between Charles and Diana, once they'd both done their book - or interview - it was fairly swiftly put to bed and a degree of decorum was retained. And as it happens, I have ALWAYS liked Camilla, you could see the fact she's a bit of a laugh, loves a drinkypoo and a ciggy - but is kind and not shy - and knows exactly how to behave which she has done as exquisitely as the dear late Queen ever did. Que sera, sera and all that...
His children are going to grow up and watch all this. I feel so sorry for them. With both parents so damaged, those beautiful babies haven’t got a hope in hell.
There are no children! It is a big lie! All the photos we have seen is of other peoples children. “Archie” was borrowed from an orphanage in London!, Pure smoke screen and mirrors!
They have a nitwit for a father and a narcissist for a mother. I hope Tyler Perry or some other sensible adult in their life will be able to give them support.
Dr Starkey, this is the best commentary I've heard on this exceptionally emotional subject! Insightful, well-balanced and brilliantly executed 👏🏽♥️ Harry is a disgrace, not only to his family and Britain, but to decent people everywhere. He has been exposed as a disingenuous, conniving, grifter! May Britain never have to endure his malignant presence again! God save the King 🇬🇧
@catsnmi270 the King & Prince are 'posturing' wokeness to avoid being cancelled by the mob. It's not real. Charles LOVES his own privilege. Imo he can either have the crown OR wokeness, not both. The Windsors must choose. I for one, will not ignore Hypocrisy.
@@manusha1349 they need to learn that the Twitter mob isn't a real thing. It's not even their people, most of it is American. The group seems big on a forum like that, but in reality they're a small bunch of whiny losers trying to drag everyone down to their level so they feel like they have power. Hopefully sanity and logic win out.
I used to have so much admiration for this young man...I even defended him and his wife in the early years of their marriage...then came Oprah. Nuff said.
They are their own worst enemies. They keep forcing their way in front of the public, screaming "what you NEED to UNDERSTAND is..." but it makes them look worse every time, as they contradict themselves and pull more "pity us" stuff. The best thing they could do is to stop, go off and quietly raise their family and support causes they believe in, and let the public turn neutral on them again. But I don't see them doing this. Especially now with all the stuff they've been doing, they're more in our faces than ever before.
As much as I can sympathise with anyone who's lost a parent, especially at a young age, I think I got tired of hearing about Harry's personal grief about 10 years ago. And William is a fool if he thinks embracing Woke is a good idea. It is, at its core, iconoclastic, and undermining the Monarchy would be a huge victory for them.
I cannot sympathise with someone who blames every single mistake in his life to the death of the parent. And years after that, using his long gone parent for money.
I don't sympathize with anyone spending 3 years monetizing the memory of their late mother and comparing her to his narcistic wife. Harry is doing this for the money. I have far more respect for William whether he goes woke or not. At least he's not taking private jets nor talking to the press about his private life or making reality shows with Netflix.
The more I study woke marxism, the more I am inclined to agree with David Starkey and your point regarding the undermining of Monarchy. Not *the* Monarchy as such, but the very institution and its fundamentally important symbolical function in British culture and society. But I think in a variety of ways - demoralisation for one, woke marxism is intent on coroding the institutional pillars upon which British and Western culture is built. The war on 'dead white males", on the past, the war on heritage, on education and the rule of law and its practice, on the written word and more importantly on children and their developing fundamental categories. I think this all speaks to a fundamental attack by identity marxism/woke marxism.
Agreed. Trying to appease the Woke mob is a waste of time. Because nothing is enough for them. And besides which, they've wanted rid of The Monarchy from the start. Nothing will change their minds about that.
Hey David, I am so glad that you have recovered from your woke beheading. May I say that you are doing an amazing job and I will definitely be subscribing to your channel as well as encouraging all of my friends and family to also. I’m sure everyone who isn’t woke believe that you’re not only a national treasure, but an international one also. God bless and take care 💕
Harry saw the disastrous consequences of his mother’s published book and her giving interviews to the press about her marriage and later, divorce. Of her love-hate relationship with the press and paparazzi, her using them to get her story across and it ultimately backfiring on her to the point where she could no longer control the access they had to her life and what they published about her. I don’t understand why he is now going down that same path, thinking it will end well for him. He’s not his mother and neither is his wife. He should have just stayed out of the spotlight and focussed on his family, like he set out to originally.
SHE who must not be named, wasn’t going to let him. SHE saw a meal ticket to fame and fortune, but found it came with a price tag, and SHE didn’t like it.
The press ALWAYS protected Diana and covered up for her! Everyone is their circle knew about her affairs and lies but the press continued to pretend she was a saint and a humanitarian!
To be fair, I don’t think he originally set out to raise his family in peace. I think all of this was planned before leaving the U.K. Leaving was part of a plan in motion, wanting to raise their family in peace was just a cover story.
The "Invictus Games" started off in America as Warrior Games for the wounded & ill military veterans. It wasn't just him, but other ex-military veterans who widened it to make them international!
Happy to turn up just before the start of the games. Ensuring maximum publicity for him and his wife. Once finished wants nothing to do with vet's etc!
Honestly, I doubt it was Harry who named it Invictus, it must be some nameless Palace Courtier. And I doubt it was also Harry who arranged the Games. He was only lending his name and showed up for photo ops.
She's a national embarrassment for the US. I'm so sick of the worst of us Yanks being the most visible and setting the framework for how the world sees us.
Harry was very disrespectful to his mother's memory by telling about thinking of her as he creamed his todger. Disgusting, disrespectful and just plain disturbing.
I find it ironic that Harry doesn't realize that all that he is divulging in his autobiography (as if he warrants such a thing) makes him look worse than anyone else in his family. His entire book comes off as him making excuses for how he is rather than explaining himself.
Honestly I’ve always tried to keep my opinions on Megan at a minimum and trusted that Harry was a grown man and can choose for himself but this, this absolute circus and Harry headlining as the clown is just absolutely ridiculous. They claim they want a quiet life away from the monarchy but EVERY single documentary, book, talk show is about nothing but the monarchy. They have done nothing on the backs of themselves they continue to use the connection for financial gain. What an absolute disgrace he’s literally become a air head celebrity
My first notion, opinion of Harry & Meghan was.... What a lucky chap...she's beautiful... I was sure they'd be very happy and fulfill many roles......to the delight of the world. Sadly, it's all gone very downhill due to both of them.... I cannot believe that they have chosen to press the Self-Destruct-Button. The dignified silence of the RF is a credit to the traditions & protocols that have been in place for hundreds of years. (I'd love to be a fly on the wall in the presence of my favourite Royal.... Princess Anne..... Just a shame she was not first born...IMHO.)
When I came across the bit from Harry’s book where he was whining about having fewer sausages for his breakfast than William, I thought “This guy’s off his trolley!”. All the grief and suffering in this world and a multimillionaire sees fit to complain about the number of sausages he got as a kid. You literally could not make this up.
I was never a 100% fan of his....but this was, as you say "A soothing balm of reason"...... My respect for him has soared. He eloquently said what my brain was trying to explain to me......
Whenever I want clear, accurate and incisive analysis of a subject, I always turn to what Dr Starkey says. This talk is no exception. Thank you, Dr Starkey. In my mind you are a national treasure.
I cheer for that! Get rid of the whole lot of the shameless rabble! Benefits street has nothing to hold a candle to compared to the royal soap opera. I'm no fan of the concept continuing into the 21st century. There are so very lost. No decorum, no dignity no standards. The queen was the end of an era, Charles with his adulterous woman cannot hold a candle to his parents. And I can't believe I find myself depending Dianna but I have to protest against the claim that she rejected doing her duty! She reinvigorated the royal family, did her duty to marry a man she was right to have reservations about, gave him two sons and brought the family up to date with her unrelenting work across the world.while her husband was chasing that old trout! When the queen died was the moment to draw a line under the whole expensive fiasco before they dragged themselves down any further. end it on a high note. But Diana absolutely did her duty to royalty.
there are Princess Anne & her children, Prince Edward & Sophie ... there are Duke of Gloucester & Duke of Kent ... there are children of Princess Margaret who have excellent careers ... many positive examples to follow ...
There is such an incredible difference between pre Meg Harry and post Meg Harry. All the fight and manhood has gone out of him. He's a walking wound/victim owing loyalty to nothing and no one. He's hurt and lost. No one wants to hear anything he has to say anymore. Meg has become quite a weapon to Harry, and yet because he can't see it, he loves her for it. What future can Harry possibly have anymore?
The longer this goes on the more I'm convinced he is the victim of the ambitions of his wife... She has visions of being the next princess Diana , her dreams of being the people's choice died the moment she was told she had to work for the privelage and titles . Being told no she pulled out the victim card and claimed racism. Claiming that the people were against her because she is black ( apparently not actually being black but being 25% black via a mixed race mother).... This claim is exactly the opposite to the reality, the British people liked the idea of having someone of colour in the royal family, because it reflects the people who make up the British isles..... She has taken her husband to the most racially divided country in the world in order to gain favour from an all too willing " victim community"...... He has little choice but to support his wife. This woman is the worst thing to happen to the royal family since the death of Princess Diana
Your whole reply to Harry’s wife as La trash sums it up your a delusional monarchist. I think prince Andrew’s disgusting behaviour is way more disturbing and immoral it should be public outrage. What he has done is way more disturbing Then anything a young African American can do regardless who she made cry. There treatment is outrageous to the fact your all looking at the wrong person.. your fingers of out rage should be pointed at a paedophile, Prince, Andrew..wtf British peoples you’ve all gone mad wake up..?
Spot on, Prof. Starkey. You really clarified the words I've been seeking. Why are we even talking about someone's family disputes and private matters? Because he put them out there. With our collective love for history, there's one other aspect I've not heard discussed. Coupled with all that you have clarified, he is, indeed, a spare; not a layperson, but a spare to the throne! It's unlikely that he would ever become King, however, look at Jane Grey; look at the princes in the tower (who's exhumation and DNA analogy will now be attempted per King Charles, per Tracy Borman's November lecture). WHAT IF Harry becomes King at some point in his life. He would have needed the very character you speak of. And the very fact that race was even discussed, is what makes it an issue. If Harry had simply smiled and responded to any factual racism, and said, "Race is simply not an issue and is irrelevant," THAT would have been character. The Netflix special spent an unexpected amount of time on Black History. For what purpose? It didn't have the character to say why. You are also judged by the company you keep. Many of us have had utter hell imposed on our lives and we don't discuss it on television or outwardly in public. These hells would likely makes Harry's seem minuscule if he knew of them. If Harry truly wants to protect his family, he would make an effort to protect ALL of his family. Prof. Starkey, are you an honored expert and philosopher of history and you have every right to discuss this in your usual, intelligent, respected perspectives. This is history, in the present, and I'm so glad SOMEONE SAID IT. Salute!
Agreed with all! I didn't know that the King will now allow the remains of the 'Little Princes' to finally be exhumed to finally confirm if it is them through DNA analysis! It was so frustrating that the Queen wouldn't allow it in her lifetime! Finally, it can be confirmed after over 500+ years if the remains are really theirs. They died in the 1400s, but the remains were found in the reign of King Charles II. It would really be something if the little Princes' could finally rest, knowing that their remains were truly 'found' as it were in the reign of King Charles III!
In his defence, he was about to alight a plane in Canada is my understanding. A difficult situation. Yes, it was a foolish knee jerk reaction. His “team “ are probably not experienced enough to have dealt with the situation better. Where’s Lord Geidt when you need him was my response at the time.
@@michelegraham9044 I agree. His regret will only be if he doesn't learn from the situation. I am not expecting leaders to be perfect, but I would hope they learn from what works and what fails. Not knowing the complete context when he spoke out so quickly, it is clear 20/20 (actually when more was coming out about the complainer) is hindsight. Will he learn to pause and take in more data before deciding? I think so. And make things right with Lady Hussey. But you see how the Palace has been put on such high alert that their trigger was too quick. And played into H's decision to 'defend' Lady Hussey. I'm willing to see how W. handles the next crisis.
That was so woke that it was a social injustice. Lady Hussry hasn't just given her life in duty to his family, he should have known well that she was not a racist otherwise the Queen would not have her around. Instead of taking the side of a woman who was both elderly and deaf, he chose the side of someone he didn't know to appear trendy. Oftentimes it is our Elders who are taking the brunt of this cancel culture, being cast aside rather than learning from their experience. And in North America it's also the indigenous communities that are sacrificed to assuage the noisy woke people who are just too ignorant to have so much political power.
I also don't believe for one minute that he killed anyone, he'd probably miss. If he had we would have heard of it long ago. He was in the army as a mascot nothing more than that.
@@ms3707 I disagree that he would have missed. He had spent years shooting on the family estates and was quite proficient. However, his "kill count" sounds suspiciously like something a gamer would say and you are quite right that he was protected. More of an annoyance than an asset.
@@scotiabound3547 He would never have been in a position to kill people, he would have played a toy army part. Just look at his actions, a real military person does not have the weekend soft mental victim charachter of this foolish child man. And would never discuss it in the way he has. Never happend, more fantasy from Harry.
I am always delighted to hear you comment on our life and times. You are a very wise and articulate gentleman. I wish William, Harry, and the rest of the Royal Family would listen to this video now and, again, several more times. Your insightful assessment of this and related matters it truly brilliant. Sadly, i see the woke world flourishing across my country from North Carolina where i live-out my senior years to what was once the glorious state of California. Unfortunately, great Britain has also been infected by this plague including the King and Prince William so clearly demonstrated by the Lady Hussey incident. Now that Harry has been swallowed up by the woke quick-sand of California under the guiding hand his wife it will be extremely difficult to stop from sinking deeper and deeper. This is not like the old American Western movies where the cowboy comes along, throws a rope out and rescues to the poor soul who ventured into insecure footing. In those good old days the sinking man wanted to be saved. Now the sinking man, Harry, doesn't want to be helped because he has drunk the woke cool-aid. This sad affair will most likely not end well. Let's hope he does not destroy his family and the Monarchy in the process. Thank you for your commentary.
I always enjoy listening to what David Starkey says. I find him fascinating when he talks about the history of England, he captivates me with how he tells a story, I could listen to him all day long.
How very true David. WOE is me, I suffer more than you can ever imagine. William needs to give Henry a bigger slap than he did, a much bigger slap. Harry has spat in the face of his own family, and of every service member and their families. He has found himself in a very toxic relationship, and he won’t, nor can he get out of it. All Minge saw was a meal ticket, but it didn’t work out for her, and now she is the one who is trying to bring it all down, good luck with that MM. Harry has very much made his bed, and now he has to lie in it, and wallow in self pity, and loathing.
Harry is burning every bridge and ruining every relationship that once defined his life. He has thrown loyalty and fealty to his family, to the Army he once served in, and the Crown itself in the rubbish bin. He repeatedly claims he wants reconciliation but his words and actions prove the opposite. Unless he experiences a drastic reversal, and very soon, any chance he may have now to repair his relationship while his father is on the throne will evaporate when William becomes King. Clearly the seventy magnificent years of tireless duty and dedication his grandmother gave to the UK, embodied in her selfless devotion to the Crown and everything it stands for, means nothing to him. He has gone from a popular Royal and respected veteran to a whinging laughingstock that will say or do anything to foster his sense of victimhood and grievance. But his house of cards will inevitably collapse, and he and Meghan will overextend themselves in their grasping search for relevance. I will not be surprised if, when that day comes, Meghan seeks divorce. We’ll see what Harry is truly made of when that happens.
Hi Dr Starkey I' would first like to say that being an American I absolutely love and admire you, I became a new fan whilst reading my first book by you The Six Wives Of Henry VIII (sadly I lost it and am planning to buy another copy) it was read many times throughout the years before then...That book gave me a absolute passion and great love of all things British, their history, their peoples, and indeed the institution of The British Royal Family as well as the history of The Monarchs and consorts of England... Thank You for being the one to give me such a gift that gives me so much joy you should not just be a National treasure but an International treasure. My second is I heartily agree with you on what you say and how you feel about Prince's Harry, William, and the wokest ideology, please keep up the good work I always look forward to each and every you tube installment....
It was so disappointing when The Prince of Wales effectively threw his godmother under the bus in favour of that race grifter and fraudster. This better be a vital lesson for him. At the very least, keep calm and carry on.
Thank you David for being the common sense commentator on the issues of the day. I have not watched any of the documentaries and will not read the book but yet another episode (or full blown box set!) of Prince Harry’s woes is inescapable. I agree that he is an example of the obsession in the UK right now with victimhood. What we should be hearing from someone in his incredibly privileged position is something inspirational. And if he has nothing positive to say, perhaps he should be silent.
I just cannot understand this man Harry. Someone who has all the ability to do good chooses a path to create anger and distress. No one in the world needs this horror as entertainment. Please stop Harry!
My mum was not loving or sensitive to my development and needs. However, the hardness she displayed enabled me to charge on through my early life with a determination to achieve the best I could for myself. Harry wants all that but for someone else to make it happen for him.
Though he isn’t aligned with my politics I love Starkey . He’s one of the greatest intellects with a very interesting voice . As a history graduate I’d be happy with even a fraction of his brain 😊
He just characterized military men as over sexualized meat robots, and you think he's a genius? He sounds like a city dweller putting down farmers as stupid, having no idea what is required to run a farm. And what the hell did Diana do to earn his hate? Divorce the man who didn't even tell her he was hopelessly hung up on another woman, whom he was having an affair with? How dare she! Where is her sense of English duty?? Give me a break. The Royal Family doesn't need Harry for the succession. Let him live in California in peace with his wife and kids.

Reaching out from the central U.S.A, I thank you for your sage commentary. Once one travels 100 miles or so from either coast in the United States, smog, fog and woke confusion begin to dissipate. Most of us hold Great Britain in high esteem. I’d like to send “Harold” home, but that would be cruel and unusual punishment for your nation. Let him fester in Cali.
Thank you for your consideration. Many people in the UK really don't like Harry & Megan at this point and we'd rather not have them back here. Of couse, if they genuinely change their ways and start acting like adults, then I'm sure people will forgive in time and welcome them back - but not until then. I'm just sorry that you have to put up with them over in the states.

My local bookstore in Adelaidedidn't feature a table full of Spares but slotted a few into the biography section, next to another book called "It's a Shame About Ray. It is another story about mental health, drug addiction, recovery, and suicide" The back cover read, " ....Blackly funny and frequently devastating, this memoir traverses family, death, hope, love, survival, compassion, and the deep relationship we can develop with music throughout our lives when nothing else is enough. It's a Shame About Ray asks how we shape new identities from old tragedies.." There is no compassion in Spare, just spite and cruelty. Thank you for this review.
This is the best thing I have listened to. It is 3.30 am. I cannot sleep but found this jewel which I hasten to add has not threatened my nagging insomnia. I will be looking into becoming a member and would be honoured to take you out to lunch. Thank you Dr Starkey.
perhaps the reason that Harry didn't spell out to his ambitious narcissistic future wife, the limitations to the role she would be assuming as a minor member of his RF, was because he did recognise some of the traits of her character and it suited him that she would join in & champion his own feelings of inadequacy & being slighted by his family members ?
Harry has publicly admitted that he “stole the idea” for The Invictus Games from The Warrior Games in America which was a similar sporting competition for wounded servicemen and women so it wasn’t his original idea.
This is like watching someone with unchecked, unmedicated bipolar during a manic phase, totally going off the rails in public. I’m just not sure Harry will snap out of this train wreck. This is beyond fixing. God help the Royal family.
Drugs, madness. This reminds me of the last months of Diana, that feeling of dread, and you can't take your eyes off the unrolling disaster. This too will end very badly. 😢
You must have a bipolar family member or work in mental health. This is exactly what my bipolar brother did to me and our family some years ago. He finally ended up being committed to a mental hospital and, after being forced to take medication, finally got well and has now been “normal” for many years. Many of these people have a much sadder spiral into suicide. The RF have my sympathy. They can only stand by and watch the train wreck.
I love your historical talks. I am in awe of your brain. This talk, while commentary on today with clarity and co passion, is something that will last the test of time and be a great historical documentary. Thank you so much
His response to that charlatan made me lose quite a bit of respect for him. If you want loyalty, you must show loyalty. It's also wading into politics, which they should not do.
The King and the Prince of Wales need to realize that whenever they take an ideological side they are alienating themselves from a large portion of their subjects, particularly the side that has always supported them.
Please write a book on Harry! The way you speak and analyse calmly historical figures is magical, and the world needs you to write this book to make sense of the debacle we are all living through!
Tip for living in America, Harry: nobody likes a whiner. Losing your mother young was a tragedy. A tragedy thousands experience every day, many in even worse circumstances of war, assault, etc. I do not see the tragic unwanted prince he is so desperately trying to be seen as, I see a rich entitled brat who is possibly experiencing negative consequences for poor choices, and maybe for the first time in his life.

Harry's great grandfather was also a "spare". Yet, he rose to his duty. And, in spite of his impediment, lead his country through one of the most trying times in it's history.
Amen!
Long live King George VI
his great aunt Margaret didn't do so well as the spare and his great grandfather only rose to duty because he was forced to
Perhaps the line of decent is a tad presumptive. There's plenty of Diana about him, but of Charles I'm not so sure.
Yes, but he had a supportive wife with an iron will who wanted the best for her husband. This description does not fit MM.
Once you identify as a victim everything looks like evidence of it.

Totally agree, beautifully stated.

Urgh!🙄
This is a beautiful comment ❤️

Are you sure they exist?
They have a nitwit for a father and a narcissist for a mother. I hope Tyler Perry or some other sensible adult in their life will be able to give them support.
What makes you say they are beautiful, we've never seen them.
My favorite historian by far! The best discussion on Harry's madness I've heard.
Dr Starkey, this is the best commentary I've heard on this exceptionally emotional subject! Insightful, well-balanced and brilliantly executed 👏🏽♥️
Harry is a disgrace, not only to his family and Britain, but to decent people everywhere. He has been exposed as a disingenuous, conniving, grifter! May Britain never have to endure his malignant presence again!

@Dougal Douglas they took it down now, so you can only see clips on TH-cam. Wonder why?
They are their own worst enemies. They keep forcing their way in front of the public, screaming "what you NEED to UNDERSTAND is..." but it makes them look worse every time, as they contradict themselves and pull more "pity us" stuff. The best thing they could do is to stop, go off and quietly raise their family and support causes they believe in, and let the public turn neutral on them again. But I don't see them doing this. Especially now with all the stuff they've been doing, they're more in our faces than ever before.
Same here.
What on earth did you ever find to admire in harry?
Totally. Big mistake for RF
Hey David, I am so glad that you have recovered from your woke beheading. May I say that you are doing an amazing job and I will definitely be subscribing to your channel as well as encouraging all of my friends and family to also.

Harry's behavior, without his family protecting him and managing his behavior, as well as keeping him busy, has gone so horribly off the rails.
An eloquent piece of work from the brilliant David Starkey, thank you ❤
Harry saw the disastrous consequences of his mother’s published book and her giving interviews to the press about her marriage and later, divorce.

Agree entirely, he made his choice, he needs to get on with his life and let his work and deeds speak for him..

I find it ironic that Harry doesn't realize that all that he is divulging in his autobiography (as if he warrants such a thing) makes him look worse than anyone else in his family. His entire book comes off as him making excuses for how he is rather than explaining himself.

Yes William sacking Hussey was ridiculous.
William will live to deeply regret doing such a spineless thing. Lady Susan is his GODMOTHER!!!!
I barely understand what is going on with the brothers especially H. Is he mental and I'm not joking

He finally ended up being committed to a mental hospital and, after being forced to take medication, finally got well and has now been “normal” for many years. Many of these people have a much sadder spiral into suicide. The RF have my sympathy. They can only stand by and watch the train wreck.

gee Mr David Starkey, I love you so much...as always spot on and so elegantly put...
The one thing he will become is very lonely and no doubt he won't ever realise it was his own doing.
I love your historical talks. I am in awe of your brain. This talk, while commentary on today with clarity and co passion, is something that will last the test of time and be a great historical documentary. Thank you so much
Love that you took time to do this.
Yes William. Be aware! Do not join the woke brigade!
Hasn’t he already?
His response to that charlatan made me lose quite a bit of respect for him. If you want loyalty, you must show loyalty. It's also wading into politics, which they should not do.
He already has
Bit late. He already has. Talk about alienating your core support. The long march appears to have infiltrated the ultimate institution.
The King and the Prince of Wales need to realize that whenever they take an ideological side they are alienating themselves from a large portion of their subjects, particularly the side that has always supported them.
Thank you for this moving and beautiful commentary. So well and soundly reasoned and delivered. As always, you are inspirational ❤️
Thank you Professor. That was a sobering analysis of the situation.
There is a lesson in this talk that many of us (myself included) would do well to take to heart.
Love listening to Dr Starkey
David Starkey = A truly reliable source of information..
Please write a book on Harry! The way you speak and analyse calmly historical figures is magical, and the world needs you to write this book to make sense of the debacle we are all living through!
What a wonderful idea it would a masterpiece if his other works are a guide
It can be called Spare Us
Thank you for this sobering warning to ‘the other brother.’
