I have no recollection of the Canberra by-election but this is the NSW state election in which Faye Lo Po got Maroubra MP Bob Carr over the line in Penrith as Premier in a second attempt. Don Beck still predictably held on for the Nationals in Tweed.
Smooth talker, unfortunately not a smooth government. But alas, a better time in politics on both sides. We would be lucky to have this quality of politicians back.
