9:50 I love that hand wave when Larry says "traditional relationship"; it just screams "I'm a 90 year old gay man; 'traditional' wasn't my thing either"
Their love was a beautiful tragedy. What some people in the comments seem to have missed is that this whole situation really was sad. It’s sad that Larry was cheating on his wife and it’s also sad that he could never fully commit to John. Larry basically made bad choices all around but it wasn’t because he was inherently bad, the fact is that the era he lived in came with certain societal expectations. In order to have the career he wanted and a family, Larry chose to live a lie and hurt everyone around him, but his character, who lived a suppressed life for decades, is getting a second chance and he is showing his growth as a person. To anyone who thinks that Larry was a “bad guy,” maybe just take a second to reflect on why he felt he had to lie and think about how if people didn’t hate others for simply being who they were born to be, there could be a lot less sadness and tragedy in the world.
the fact that the government only enlisted married men into certain jobs is probably why he married his wife, to become a test pilot and eventually an astronaut
I am glad that they got that moment of closure at the end. The look on Larry's face in the bar at 11:23 absolutely broke my heart... They would have deserved better...One of my favourite storylines on the show by far! I loved their flashbacks.
The best superhero themed show out there. Season 1 was outstanding and it's a shame that shows like this one don't get the recognition they deserve. I'm really looking forward to season 3.
I remember it...After the accident and crash, Larry was radioactive, which is why he wore the bandages, so he wouldn't accidentally kill the people around him, and why he chose to live that solitary life...Imagine living in that self-imposed purgatory...This is why you shouldn't judge Larry so harshly...
No, he was testing a jet plane that would take him through the atmosphere but it hit a cosmic storm which sent his ship crashing against the Earth. But because of the storm gives him the Negative Spirit, he survived what should've killed him.
No no no Larry loved his sons and he tried to be a good husband to Cheryl...The fact that he loved John was not any kind of deliberate cruelty to Cheryl...This is simply the reality of life for most gay people back in those days...
Probably the main reason not to get into this show. Selfish unlikeable characters. This guy literally wrecking his own home and hurting people, possibly all who are involved, being selfish. And he wasn't the only character in the show being selfish.
It’s called character development! You know they’re human characters that aren’t perfect and we see them grow and learn from their selfish ways to become heroes in their own right! Best DC (best superhero) show by far! Larry and John’s love story is so realistic and so good/compelling! I loved it!
The characters in the first season of the show have so much development and it's so well-written. ALSO, you have no idea what is was like to be gay in this time period. If you were a grown man in the military, you were expected to have a wife and kids. Otherwise people would think you were gay, which was not "acceptable" back then. It was hinted at that people knew John was gay and treated him differently. Larry cared about his family, and there's an episode centered around him that would tug at your heartstrings if you watched it, instead of coming here to troll :)

LMAO SO TRUE
Their relationship is one of my favorite storylines in the show. Loved their reunion.
🥺
Me tooooo! They deserved better ;.;

Did John end their relationship at the bar?? I so wanted them to get back together after the accident. John would have accepted him..,
@@ramalamadingdong7576 I really don't want to spoil it as it seems that you haven't watched that episode yet.

they deserved a happy ending. I feel the pain when john saygoodbye and Larry had to remain in that state. My eyes hurt and i really cried 😢
Hello
The lack of fanfics for this show disturbs me to no end. Shame the show is so underrated.
great couple wish they had more time
This relationship was fucking amazing.
No, their relationship sucks
@@ultimatespider-man5170 due to their situation yeah it sucked but if the circumstances were different it would’ve been great.
Notice that Matt is speaking with his natural Texas drawl...
The song at the end is “Together Forever” by Alibi Music.
A better love story than twilight.
it look like he was holding on for larry to come so he can say his final i love you and goodbye
Matthew Bomer is so gorgeous, it's abominable that his face is covered with all those bandages
Well, that’s another actor in the bandages. But with Bomer doing the voice.
It’s probably better to say latex because I think the scene without the bandages is where Matt plays as Larry.
i cried like a bratt over their last scene together
This show helped me a lot with my own sexuality, without this show I really wouldn't have understood the things I went through.
what is the song at the end?
Frank ocean moon river
Still better lovestory than twilight
Larry and John deserved better. 🥲
i agree . I feel the pain 😢
Their relationship sucks
Does the song at the end have a name? if so, i'd really like it thanks!
Okay I’m bawling my eyes out at 12:03 in the morning

Larry deserved better than being afraid to be himself
...i though u gonna give us season 3
It’s funny how he just cheats on his wife everyday 💀
ooh he was nuked
No, he was testing a jet plane that would take him through the atmosphere but it hit a cosmic storm which sent his ship crashing against the Earth. But because of the storm gives him the Negative Spirit, he survived what should've killed him.
Did Larry really love his Boys and Sheryl and did he Use Her to have sons With his blood then get to John
No no no Larry loved his sons and he tried to be a good husband to Cheryl...The fact that he loved John was not any kind of deliberate cruelty to Cheryl...This is simply the reality of life for most gay people back in those days...
