Anyone who is here criticize Cobus for what he is doing shouldn't be here. Just because he came up with his own playing style doesn't mean he isn't trying to improve his style every day. It never stops getting better. Still think this isn't good? Put in head phones with 720p HD close your eyes and just listen to every beat and every snare hit and symbol hit now that is a thing of beauty. Well done Cobus you inspire me as a drummer myself and encourage me to Improve every time i hit the drum set.
I feel like you should have released two versions of this... One with the swear and one without. The song kind gets its power from the word for me. I'm not one to swear myself, but I love the way she says the f word in this song. lol

I noticed whenever he does any double-bass on its own he lifts his hands into the air. I must say that because of him I picked that up and now I look awesome when I do it. Thank you Cobus =)
I must say I have now listened to this version about 30 times... At least! I love what she has done with it and will probably listen to it a lot more in times to come! I would however also like to heard him drum with the Mumford and Sons one... They have a very unique sound that gives like a musty feel to it! All around a good song done by Mumford or Tonight Alive! All of that said Cobus has inspired me to pick up my sticks again... There is nothing in life as epic as drumming!
Possilby the best cover I've seen you do over the last three to four years. Most of the covers you've been doing lately seem like you've been trying to push yourselft to become a better drummer and keep doing new things, but this one seemed to have a hint of just letting go and being the kickass drummer that you are. as a drummer i feel there is a fine line between overplaying, and being creative. there are few drummers out there that play creative, but still keep the integrity of the song. cobus executes this perfectly.

Not responding to anyone in particular but just general to all this about people comparing cobus to other drummers etc. Firstly, one thing is that the large majority of cobus fans pretty much only watch the videos/things that he says in the description and don't comment or read the comments. The large majority also LOVE his videos, for what they are, and not for what they are similar to or almost the same as or not as good as. People keep watching/liking his videos, he keeps doing them

You know what impresses me is that he doesn't really add that much more (even though he does) to the drumming done by the original drummer. Applause to both Cobus and Matt Best!
I've seen so many comments complaining that all Cobus does is covers, or that he's good, but he's no Neil Peart, Mike Portnoy, John Bonham, [insert famous classic rock drummer here]. I think those people need to get a grip. Being a good drummer is about being adaptable. It's doing what you want with the talent that you have. Cobus isn't tied to one style like the legends, he can play whatever he wants via covering it. I think that makes listening to him more awesome - it's different every time.
I love this video. This is a perfect example of what a free drummer is. When you play a song and not really care about what's coming. Every drummer knows this feeling too. Were you literally put everything you have got in a song and just not give a fuck about the structure of it.
