I'm experiencing all of these things mentioned - the worry, anxiety, overthinking, remembering bad things and bad choices from the past, worrying about my children's safety...it really does take over my mind daily and wakes me throughout the night. All of this with brain fog combined. I hope that it does eventually go away. I want to go back to being carefree..
I had this and decided to nourish my body in the best way, and I can say it took literally 2 weeks to see huge improvements, now months later I function so much easier that its like getting yourself back. So i recomment making smoothies daily. A.vogel dietary tips helped..i hardly need a coffee these days where I held it back til 11..I fed my brain well with veg, fruit nuts ..protein. and I can't imagine feeling that again. Solve it all with nutrition first, the other things are habits to support like journaling. A bed routine, a nice hobby, exercise, walking. Breathing..It works wonders. Thank you Eileen.
@@AvogelCoUk yes, we often don't realize how much power we have for our own health. The support and information you consistently offer is so validating empowering and gives women agency over their own self. I remember the first thing I did was calm myself with breathing and tell body 'its ok, I will help you. And then I was determined to give my body the nutrients it needs to feel it can be better. I can't thank you enough for creating this channel. Lia
I suffered with this for many years, during PMS when I did have my period and during perimenopause into postmenopause. These days the duration of these spells has decreased but still there. I find I just have to talk to myself and and let me know that this is part and parcel of the whole transition. It isn't easy at times but I think just knowing that it can be a normal part of it all helps. When I start to think negatively I replace those thoughts with positive ones and those of gratitude. Sometimes you realize that there is more to be thankful for than unhappy about. Thanks for sharing all you wonderful knowledge. I am positive you have helped so many women with their hormonal struggles. :) :)
Thank you for your helpful comments Jacqueline, yes, knowledge is power as they say and knowing why something is happening can often make it easier to work on. I'm all for self-care and being grateful for what we do have too! Best Wishes Eileen
I stress out so much with post menopause I constantly think I have a disease or something. I notice everything with my body now and I stress about loved ones and finances 😢
I can relate to this 100% I go through the same thought pattern every single day I'm afraid of finances am I sick and my dying my children husband going to be okay it drives me crazy then I tell myself everything's going to be okay and then it starts all over I can't wait to this phase is over because it's driving me insane
You are difinately talking to me...over thinking is my second name for real......you hit on all the main points of this issue...i have them all...Thanks Eileen as always for your tips and advice ...they are very much appreciated❤❤❤
I didn't realize this was a peri thing. I thought it was a trauma thing and Covid pandemic trauma. Thank you so much for this talk. I am going through this. I have always been an over thinker but now it is on a crazy high level. I look at every side like it is a crazy mathematical formula. All my past trauma has come up. I am ok with that. I think that is the only thing that has been healthy about this. I was able to resolve and heal from the trauma. It is slow and a journey. I am doing it and it's wonderful. I do worry about my husband and animals all the time, especially my animals. My husband has to tell me it's ok. Yesterday, I told him not to let our puppy out without turning the light on because we have hawks and they could get her. My husband laughed so hard about this because he said they couldn't pick her up. Of course I had to check on her and it was not dark outside but dusk. There is no way a hawk could pick her up, lol. I live in the South (USA). It is humid here. My hot flashes were starting to get worse. I knew I had to do something. I was getting physically sick from them. I started taking Rhubarb extract. It has helped a lot. I noticed it also helped with the overthinking. My mind is a lot more calm.
Good to hear that this vlog has helped you Safyne, yes, it can be a long slow journey! I've not heard of a Rhubarb supplement, it sounds very interesting so I will have a look at it, thank you for mentioning it! Best Wishes Eileen
Hi this is happening yo me. Everything you have described and exactly the way you described it. I feel I am going paranoid. I can't sleep at night and all these intrusive thoughts wake me up and give me panic attacks. I have got constant phobia something awful is going to happen to me. I'm scared of driving and this was never the case before. I'm constantly worrying about my children and its causing me severe depression.
Thank you for an insightful program. I’ve had success with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). It’s helped me to assess negative thinking and to refocus my thoughts. Also, replacing a scary thought with a grateful thought: eg, worry about adult children, I’m happy they have jobs, families, etc. ❤
I had this quite severely exacerbated by stress. I sought help from my GP and with medication, gentle exercise and adult colouring, I can get on with my day. Please seek help before things become overwhelming.
Hi Eileen, that’s exactly how I’ve been feeling in post menopause..listening to your videos ,just help me understand what’s going on , so I can deal with it much clearer in a positive way ..Thank you 😊
It's so refreshing to know that you're not the only one going through this I know about the furniture need new chairs for my kitchen one is actually broken but I can't seem to buy them
I'm also experiencing these. I dread more in the menopause and abuse from my childhood has surfaced. I have a wonderful Christian counselor who is helping me to heal so I can go on with my life. I strongly suggest getting help if this has happened to you. Thank you Eileen for this wonderful website.
I'm in early post menopause and am dealing with all this stuff too, and in addition to diet, excercise, and sleep, I took an online emotional processing course which was quite helpful. Learning how to better deal with my changing thoughts and emotions and building new skills for that was both reassuring and productive.
I struggle with CPTSD and all my suppressed memories and emotions started coming up and I felt being flooded. It also made my perimenopause symptoms severe with having the most intense hot flashes every 10 mins. Since it was my second episode of depression, I was able to notice the symptoms earlier and got timely help. I started Zoloft and Estroven [Rhapontic Rhubarb Root Extract] and I am so grateful to God that both of it helped me tremendously and I feel stable now.
Its really greatful getting to know you today. I'm new here but like l have been watching your video for years. Thanks for this great piece of informative messages. ❤❤🎉
This is me, I’m looking for something that’s there, and it’s not… I’m literally going insane.. my doctor told me to stop I’m stressing myself for nothing
Thank you so much Eileen. I feel like “everyone just sees the worst in me “ as if I’m nuts. My family cannot put one together, that I’m going through peri. They just think I’m the same old person. I feel the overthinking is the worst. I’m very sensitive to rejection, never used to be. I e become a people pleaser and introvert. Not good. But safe.
I went for lots of very good counselling and my counsellor let me talk about my childhood trauma and mum now being in a nursing home and she got me journalling and I got much better after it....I am still not thru the meno tho...still only in peri my doc said
went back on vitamin b6for the irrational fear I started getting....as it cured my severe PMS 20 years ago after my dad died....I feel better after on it now3r4weeks
Hi Leena Thank you for your lovely comments! This could be caused by a number of issues such as fibroids or even a prolapse so it is best just to double check with your doctor. Best Wishes Eileen
Anxiety is awful ! I hate it . Tried anxiety meds and ended up in the ER from a reaction to it. So I need to practice my breathing technique because meds aren’t an option for me
What about feeling paranoid? I feel thay everyone is judging me and i live with the thought I am going to be told off by anyone who passes me in the Street!
Yes, this can happen. If it's getting difficult to cope with, please do see your doctor or look into therapies such as CBT, NLP or EFT as these can teach you to feel more in control. Best Wishes Eileen
why nature came to torment women like this, I mean there are a thousand things in the body that affect the menopause, it is not only the lack of libido or infertility, there are many things from the brain to the feet that happen to us, but the worst of all for me has been anxiety (catastrophic thoughts) insomnia and body aches. On top of that I am disappointed with the creation, there is really no explanation that justifies why we are doing so badly and, "OH", everything is normal". I know there are many women that don't feel it that bad, but there are the majorities that do, just one simple "common" symptom like lack of libido can ruin ALL your marriage, but add to that the anxiety, the confused feelings and emotions, and this is too much. I am very close to my health, I am fine in general, have very healthy habits that keep me out of diseases so far, but I feel sorry for that women that come alone to this stage, it is really a luck to be accompanied by a partner that can be a support during these time, my case, but still feel that this must be an error of the nature .... Oh, my goodness, am I in menopause or what? lol, I feel better now that I said it.
Yes I understand you completely nothing worse than a husband who turns to other sources instead of trying to be there for you kind of selfish in a way for me anyway especially when your there for them every single day waiting on them constantly
For me the sad thing is I go through all this and try to explain to my male boss what's going on and he still teases. To be exact around other workers he will say. " I don't know if you can handle this because if you so much as fart you will forget." I am sad at work but tell myself all the work places around here are very threatening with how we can be replaced quite easily.
Please know that your nutrition is the key to solve all the symptoms. Try a daily healthy smoothie packed with healthy ingredients then follow the habit tips.
Hi Stella That's a tough question as they are all needed in the menopause but for me Vit E for heart and skin and the mineral magnesium for just about everything! I tend to recommend an over 50s female multivit - even if you're not over 50, they usually contain good amounts of all the major vits and minerals that you need. Best Wishes Eileen
