yazctr this is a great shout, I had to opt for a manual and fwd because I could use a stand-alone Ecu to control the day and quattro
Another great informative video. You recently did a gearbox tune on the VW Amarok it would be interesting for you to compare the HTG GCU with the Mechatronic unit on this vehicle. Looking forward to the installation because there isn't much info on their website + the links to the gearboxes don't work.
The technical term is ‘park pawl’ @8:12, moderns ZF gearboxes have have a mechanical limitation which physically prevents them from engaging above 7kph which overcomes your mentioned issue.
If this had that we would not remove it :)
Stock clutches now but Arosa will need upgraded. 0.5s would be nice!

Looks like there’s no reason not to convert to dsg Ryan? Having seen one of the gearbox failures and the time you lose it makes sense to go that way. The casings and hardware does look better engineered in the dsg boxes...and no chance of selecting the wrong gear on changes....be interesting to see if you do go this way.

I (Scott) just prefer the engagement you get with a manual gearbox, from a driving perspective. I think DSG will be more like a computer game! Plus DSG is harder on the brakes, but we are hoping to make some changes in the software to get more engine braking with the DSG
You guys are doing a great job so keep it up 👍 and when this covid mess is over will be coming to you to get my car done. Regarding DSG it maybe worth your while to give TSV Engineering a call to see what they can do or recommend for you, and yes everyone on social media says that this or that is the best and I’m not saying that, a phone call is cheap to find out
From what other customers said TVS did not fix their tuning any differently to other tuners.
Glad to see you are playing more with the DSG. Curious how much time you think it will improve the Arosa's 1/4 mile? Half second?

Please specifiy on the single mass flywheel that you cant run a single mass flywheel with the steel synchro without nuking them.
We dont recommend for CR engines which usually have steel synchro, its not as common as people think though, the steey synchro's are just crap anyway!
Question... with the tiptronic system... couldnt you just map the shift up and shift down. That way you dont have to turn the shifter assembly upside down.

Which 02M is stronger? The one that have tapered bearings in the input shaft (FJW for example), or the one that have ball bearing and roller bearing in the input shaft (GUC FSM HDS...)? Thanks
Both have their issues, the Roller bearing have tronger casing but wear out easier
What 6 speed combination would suit a cayd 1.6 cr for motorway driving currently got a 5speed stock engine but revving around 2700rpm - 3000rpm
Any 02Q from the PD140s would probably do the job.
One from a CR of PD170 will be a bit long for the 1.6 power output

How much is difference in kg between manual and dsg. How will car handle in the corner because it would be much heavier on the front axle
We need to weigh everything when its all together but about 30kg I think. It wont affect handing too much, its not a light car anyway!

Do you know where can i purchase dsg standalone controller i what to upgrade my coupra 4 disel to a dsg becous i think it's better handle 420nm+ then the regular dual mass flywheel. Been waiting for something like this I’m wanting a taller gear ration on my cr170 Leon and wanting to know does the 02m gear box fit from the pd engine which I believe have taller ratios than the 02q gearbox

Reyt then, racing car wants cockpit sized to driver. Your track cars same. Deep dish steering e spacer too. With dsg transmission you need to use oem vw steering until you build costly special padded steering with its own electronic software. Why didn't you think to dog box with beefier gears? No synchros, only matching bigger e stronger gears. Faster clutchless shifting done! Seconds gained a lap. Or maybe your engineer yet is building dsg special padded steering, new video surprise!!

Dog Box was another option, but it does not eliminate the 4th gear weakness risk and more than this gear setup

This question is a bit off topic. But can a cr170 turbo be installed to a cr140 engine and mapped to the same figures as a stock cr170? Or are other supporting mods required? Thanks

Hi please assist me, I am looking at a 2015 Jetta 2.0TDi DSG with 65000 miles for £5.5k. Would a Audi A5 , A3 be a better buy with higher mileage? I want to have my next car tuned by you guys after all this CV19
Buy the car you love and we can do the rest! A5 3.0 is probably the best smiles per buck, even around 100k miles they are still reliable to tune

Quick question about the 200bhp 2.0tdi oval port turbo upgrade, what will it realistically push?
Currently got Egr delete, dpf delete pipe, your intercooler running 200bhp and 343lbs on standard turbo, would it be any benifit to upgrade to this?

What about the Scirocco dsg boxes are they different? I.e ratios
There are 100s of different DSG Boxes with different ratios. The issue is, as ETKA does not show any internal parts, such as the gears, you can't work out which will have different ratios

Anything other than a DQ200! Dry clutch that holds about 200nm!
