Thank u man ! My 1999 USA Taylor 7 series sounds really great with super warm tone and great sustain. But I had been wondering why it’s action is so bad on the lower frets. It was really stress on my fingers trying to press the notes and chords. I finally know what need to be fix after watching ur video. Thank u!!! Now I can play without unnecessary straining. Beautiful grand warm sound.
Sounds like your nut slots are too high to me. check the gap between the strings and the top of the first fret. Should be 0.020" on low E & A, 0.018" on D & G and 0.016" on B & high E (all on open unfitted strings / without capo)
Hello there. My Taylor is a model 110-GB. It's always had high action since new, so not pleasant to play (so I don't play it!). I just took it out, and am going to adjust the truss rod. The adjusting nut on this model is on the end of the neck inside of the sound hole. I'll guess the process is the same as the head stock end adjustment, but wanted to check out your video. Thank you. ...beautiful playing.
Hello Edwin, thanks for the nice video. I have gotten a lot of help from you in regards with my Martin. I just traded it in to get a Taylor 114ce. Edwin, what a difference in the action, I have arthritis in my fingers as well as them being small. I really was struggling with the Martin. I have to change the strings though, they are 13s..I am going down to 11s, so I will have to adjust the neck a little. I like the sound of my Taylor better than the Martin, although the Martin had a little deeper sound, but play ability of the Taylor is the difference between night and day. Edwin, which do you like better. Thank you for your videos, they make things easier. DAVID
Congrats on your new guitar. And thanks for a very nice comment here. You are right about Taylor neck, it is really comfortable to play. I cannot decide between Martin and Taylor because I like them both. It really depends on my mood which one I would like to play and which guitar better suits with the song I am playing.

Taylor has its distinct bright tone. I don't know about string buzz you mentioned. If it is setup properly then, it should be ok. And also depends on your playing style. If you strum so hard, then you need a bit higher string action.
Sir Edwin , how about if the hex nut of the truss rod is damage , it's difficult to turn and it's slips when the wrench is inserted ,any suggestion, any remedy ?

The purpose of Truss Rod Adjustment is to keep the strings as low as possible without buzzing when played relatively hard. I am saying relatively because it depend to the play style of each guitar player.

Hi Edwin, I’m not sure if you make Taylor Guitar action lower, turn Truss tod clockwise or counterclockwise?
normally, tightening by clockwise to counteract string tension. This will make neck straight if it is bowed inward, thereby lowering the action.
What if my 1st string height is fine (1.5), but my 6th string is pretty high (3). Any ideas po? I have a taylor 114ce
I think 3 possible causes. 1. The saddle height for 6th string is high. 2. Neck is a little twisted, 3. Bulge on the guitar body.
