Hey Everyone, this will be the last video like this probably until the colder months as I've been focusing on my main channel (post10) making exploring and wildlife videos. Thanks for your support:)
My mom found a huge can of applesauce in the back of the pantry. She was going to open it, I yelled at her stop, don't, because it was all puffed up. She went ahead and as soon as the can opener broke the seal....sounded like a bomb went off. Applesauce flew everywhere. Total mess. She was screaming "help me ". Her face was covered with it. Her eyelashes were coated and she was blinking real fast. I couldn't stop laughing. Wasn't laughing when I had to clean that mess up.
Post 10 is such a genuine honest guy. Love the fact he just burps and farts in his videos and doesnt care. My fav youtuber. I particularly like his camping vids in weird places on his other channel. I mean -who sleeps in a culvert on a pre fab platform to allow whe river water to run beneath him and lines the walls in survival blankets. Best youtuber ever. Post,if you read this im from Scotland and i love all your videos.
The taste of the fruit is different because the fruit at that time was not genetically modified Thank you for this unique experience, I am from Algeria 🇩🇿
Dude, you’re brave to try it! It does really look like trail mix, but, I don’t think I could get myself to try it! I love your Kmart shirt, BTW! I have it in red!
Thanks for doing this video. I was doing a research on canned food shelf life and I asked the Internet if you can eat canned food from the 1950s and it says yes you can as long as the can is in good condition I think having it dehydrated is what preserves it so well.
The fruit cocktail staying sweet that long kind of amazed me. Anyways the crows probably got to enjoy the sweet 64 year old fruit cocktail. Enjoyed the video.
Fruit kissel/hedelmäkiisseli is something where dried fruits work perfectly, unpleasant texture disappears by cooking. Dried fruits, potato starch, sugar and cinnamon sticks is what you need to make dessert kissel.
Thank you for the mid-year opening of an old can of food. The only thing I wonder is, if you used a two cups Pyrex measuring cup instead of a one cup cuz you were measuring it out and you were counting it as one but I think you are measuring out two cups at a time.... I'm probably wrong but it did look like a two cup measuring cup.
I can't get over you wasting the lasagna..... it makes me almost cry. Very cool video! I really enjoy seeing how this preserved food turns out in the long run.
I didn't know they made dehydrated food back then. I just vacuum sealed four small mason jars with dehydrated garlic flakes and I am working on doing the same with onions.
Another fun one! Thanks. I think of you every time I put out left-overs and food I don't like for my critters. The only things they haven't eaten, so far, are carrots. I truly thought that carrots would be a treat for some of them. Turtles will eat the watermelon halves and then just sit there in the rinds looking at me. A big, long-haired goat with big curling horns showed up one day and scared the stew out of some men working in the yard. You would have thought he was a dinosaur the way they yelled and ran! Another time I looked out and a Malinois dog with a puppy was sitting on the table eating. Out here in the woods you never know who will stop by. I love them all. Love all of your videos. You are one of the most normal people around. Thanks.
At 13:10, when you're walking into the other room with the water, what's that wooden bench thing on the right, with the springs on the bottom and the pad up against it? Is it some kind of unusual exercise equipment?
I can’t recall specifically but he showed it off in another video quite some time ago. I think it’s essentially a bench but with some spring and wiggle action. Maybe Post will jump in the comments.
Sad,,😢 because just now I stumbled across your page. Thanks a lot! Really nice to have finally found something with the right balance between being amazed and relaxing before bed (especially as a heritage major working a stressful but at the same time ever so dull finance job).
I LOVE watching people measure cups of water... Why didnt you let us watch the 5 hour fridge session???? i would like a follow up video on those 5 hours....
"I'm also someone who buys can openers from the Dollar Tree". Hahaha, that's a funny quote. Partly because of the plural. Most people don't buy them in the plural, we only need one. Great vid, thanks!
I’m a former chef and now I’m just at home cooking with my daughter. It’s just us now but we had some good kind people who helped us when we were struggling. Several items were outdated by a year or two but unfortunately wherever the food was stored it was quite humid and powdered stuff like jello kool aid and even the packets of sauces and seasonings in boxes like hamburger helper weren’t edible. A suggestion for you about opening the older cans have you tried using the cam opener that only breaks the adhesive seal on the bottom or top of the cans. I have put valuables inside an empty can and resealed it and it looks like another can of mixed vegetables. Yuck sorry but nobody likes canned vegetables.
Always loved your videos and seeing you open old foods, some nostalgic to me form the late 90s early 00s when i was little. I like your kmart shirt too! Id like to grab one of those.
Love the tshirt, Kmart was the place to go when I was a kid. By coincidence, a news article floated across my fb feed today that the last full-size Kmart is closing. In Bridgehampton, NY. Before there was Walmart, Target, Meijer, and all the rest, there was Kmart.
Hey Everyone, this will be the last video like this probably until the colder months as I've been focusing on my main channel (post10) making exploring and wildlife videos. Thanks for your support:)
With the recent weather hitting up along where you are, have you had much flooding or blockages in culverts?
@jackmeowmeowmeow2177 my area hadn't rained alot in a bit.
That's cool I got some catching up to do on your videos
Cool. This is the channel I discovered you on. It holds some meaning for me :)
Those crows are so big and so so cute!
I came across this channel like 3 years ago, binged it for like 5 hours, and then TH-cam never recommended it again.
I'm so glad to be back
Yes same here glad to get it back😊
64 yea old fruit: Yum-yum
6 hours old lasagna: INEDIBLE
In his defense, it was probably inedible out of the oven.
I came here to make this basic comment. Well-stated.
😂😂😂
Both are past their prime
Someone that packaged this fruit in a factory when they were 20 could be watching this vid at 84 years old
Unlikely but yeah
This is such a cool thought
@@jamesofficial6829why is it unlikely plenty people in their 80s
@@AndrewDaley-lr9qgI’d say that the majority of 80 year olds don’t casually browse TH-cam

This channel is a treasure.
I’m still older than this fruit. 😂

It's one of the best channels. You never know what you're going to get and I love it
This is 3x my age and it looks really good. I guess back then they really cared about their products.
Came for the fruit cocktail. Stayed for the mystery of the disappearing lasagna.
Yes
I expected an orange cat to get it.
Finally found a TH-camr that won’t touch anything under 18 years old !
😂
Oh my God you are so funny!!
As funny as this comment is, it’s sadly true.
But he'll eat food over 50 years old 😂
I mean yeah, he likes his food above 18 as well 😂
When the world needed him most
He post 😂

It's odd that freeze dried food has not become more well known to preserve food, seeing it keeps the flavor allot better than other preserve methods.
You are one of the only channels that I actually stop what I'm doing to watch immediately! lol
It's just so much fun. Thanks for what you do, man!

Roflol at that picture!! Well ya told her not to open it! Lolol
How old was it?
My grandpa did that with off canned cat food. Truly gross 🤢 sprayed the whole kitchen with it
@W0RLDSSMALLESTVI0LIN no idea how old. When she passed and we were cleaning out the house, yikes! We found dried applesauce in the strangest places.
did the jagged top of the can cut any of her body parts off?
Very good variety today. Amazing news on canned foods I like the weather report and weather info at bottom of screen. It was nice to get outside also
I love old stuff like this. It's amazing how long it stayed fresh.
never thought I'd be jealous of somebody eating 60 year old food
What I find amazing is the actual amount of fruit in the container…. If that was canned today you’d get less than half the can….
Curiosity and bravery collide. Got to admire you for this. Your channels are so much fun.
Meanwhile at my house.....
-opens can of 4 year old pumpkin
-gags from the taste of decaying metal
Modern cans taste like pennies and blood 🤮

Hardly any fruit and vegetables are heirloom varieties these days. It's all about high yield and profits.
@@joewoodchuck3824 Yes, it's true that everything has become modified, but there is still hope of organic farming.
The freeze-dried fruit looked genuinely good to eat before the water. Is there one giant fat squirrel covered in sauce sleeping off a food coma?

Fruit kissel/hedelmäkiisseli is something where dried fruits work perfectly, unpleasant texture disappears by cooking. Dried fruits, potato starch, sugar and cinnamon sticks is what you need to make dessert kissel.
I was thinking that the rehydrated fruit cocktail could be an ingredient in something cooked.

So did the crows eat everything? They loved that snack!

You thought dehydrated food was a new thing? Amusing, but I guess a lot of daily life things really don't get discussed in general history classes.
