  • I do not encourage anyone to enter culverts, unclog anything, or enter flooded areas as it can easily become deadly without the proper training
I unclog drains for fun in my spare time (I have been trained in culvert inspections for years with private co.) and I am osha trained.
Exploring anything abandoned can be dangerous or deadly without experience. I don't encourage anyone to enter any abandoned structures. Not only is safety a concern, but often times its illegal, and when possible I seek out permission from the owner or local police. I simply go to document its history before it's gone forever and I leave things the way I find them. I only take pictures and only leave footprints. I assume all the risks and responsibility before doing this. Please don't attempt to do this on your own. There could be nails, asbestos, falling concrete, soft floors, animals, or other hazards. Thanks for watching.

OK, you made me do some research on Maltose. The color of maltose is that same light brown you are seeing when you mixed it with water. It's a disaccharide of 2 molecule of glucose. Sucrose (normal sugar) is glucose + fructose and Lactose is glucose + Galactose. Maltose can be made from wheat or barley amongst many other things, so, that might explain the mini-wheats smell. Thanks for the post, interesting edible antique.

It doesn't have mixing directions because your dr would have written you a "prescription "on how much dry to liquid to use. Your dr would have told you weather you are to use milk or water. Modern baby formula you would use 1oz power to 2oz water . So an 8oz bottle would have 4 scoops powder.

It's funny to me that you happened to upload this video now and you have all those big googly eyes all over your stuff. I'm currently working on a real life version of the B movie song from the Brave Little Toaster, (the part where all the appliances get taken to the chop shop where all the other appliances are singing about how it's like a horror movie.) I did it with stop motion animation and I put some of those big googly eyes on my oven, for the singing oven part, and on my washing machine, and on a large 30's era radio. I was just editing it before I watched this video. I have a large basement similar to yours, and I was trying to come up with an idea for a stop motion video that a lot of people would want to see, and I realized I have the perfect opportunity to do some real life Brave Little Toaster scenes because my basement has all the areas that look exactly like the B movie scene and I even already had most of the appliances that are in that scene.

Love your shirt with the two black cats. I'm amazed that in the 1930s they even had a type of baby formula, so many people either fed naturally or just used an old home mixture of milk with other things to feed babies.

Interesting video. "Dextri Maltose" I think is the same or pretty similar to the modern filler and sweetener "maltodextrin" So one of the first highly processed foods and more 'sugary' than table sugar. 😀 Yeast would have added B vitamins, and the iron added was probably literally iron filings. UPC codes btw first appeared on products in 1973 or 1974 when the (then very expensive) technology to read them with the comparatively primitive digital electronics and lasers of that era came into being. The repeated toilet flushing was almost ASMR. I really like your shirt also.

I though old food pre 1970's didn't have expiration dates? Do you use Google reverse images? May be able to find out more research info on the products if not.

You and I should connect. I currently work at a Family Dollar that has been around for over 20 years. There’s a basement and there’s a fair bit of stuff that’s dated from 2000-2002, including old VHS security tapes.

Question. The can is in beautiful condition for 90+ years old. From a collection standpoint, wouldn’t it have been better to have used the can opener on the bottom, leaving the top & key intact?
