Sheeran Looper Plus: Everything I Like (but something's missing - and how I got around it)

- I've been looping at my gigs for years, starting with the Digitech Jamman and prior to the Sheeran Looper Plus, the Boss RC500. After receiving the Sheeran Looper Plus, I have taken it to a few gigs already and given it a good test drive. Here's what I've noticed that I hadn't seen in any other videos including one strange omission. Also discuss the differences between the RC500 vs Sheeran Looper Plus.

Thank you for the video. No way to control volume is a definite deal breaker.
It's a definite oversight - and one that I hope they'll remedy
I’ve always boosted my lead stuff, I don’t think I would have even noticed the volume thing. I’ve always used my RC 20 that way. My looper is at the end of my board. It is a good thing to know, I’m sure a lot of acoustic player are interested in this pedal.
Nice review
Nice review Trevor. I’ve got a simpler RC-3 which I just use at home to create backing tracks to practice over. Larger pedals would definitely be better for live situations.
Thank you!
Looping is such a great way to practice - great for timing, great for being able to analyze and deconstruct a song.
Great video! I just got one of these myself and love it. I use it like you do, simple backup as opposed to full on multitrack song creation. Hopefully an update fixes the volume thing. Dig your music, btw! Rock on 🤟😎❤️
Thanks!
I can literally see the volume controls on your guitar. Just er... turn it down a little for the chords? :)
I do see your point, but my feet are less occupied than my hands
I agree about the lack of playback volume control. It might be a lot to ask on a small unit, but I’d also like to pan layers in a stereo field. In places where you can get effective performance stereo, panning can make a big difference.
Other than the volume thing, it is a great pedal. I've never messed with the stereo thing - I'll have to give that a shot
Hey brother, it’s Lefty Collins. Just got mine too. In the unboxing and firmware updating phase. But that is a very interesting tidbit about no volume control. But I pretty much have the same set up you do. I use the zoom ACC one as my volume boost Instead of the LR bags which I’ve also used in the past. And a boss RC 30. I use the Porchboard base and what I like about the RC 30 is the ability to loop both the Porchboard base and the rhythm track and one single motion. Sure this year looper does that I just haven’t figured out how to do it yet. I also use the boost function on the AC one for my solos currently so it’s something I’m already used to.
Yo Lefty! It is a great looper and does some very cool things that I'm still figuring out how to use - but that's half the fun.
There are 3 inputs for instruments/mics - you will definitely be able to loop the guitar and porch board, no problem. There's also a 2 track option so you don't have to overdub - and it has a foot switch input for an a/b switch for easier control.
Yeah, I’ve got some work to do on it hopefully this afternoon.
Do it to it
Hey Man! Hello from Ireland …. I just discovered your videos… you are a cool dude….
I have the Sheeran looper for a couple of weeks now and I fully agree about the volume, I have just controlled my volume from the guitar BUT I am no where near as profecient as you are as a musician and I could never look anywhere as cool as you do…. Thank you
Thank you... from Nashville! Much appreciated.
It really is a great looper with lots of options to explore. The problem I have is a complete lack of focus lol. I've tried using the volume on the guitar before - I'd turn it up for the solo, forget about turning it up, set the next song and realize I had no more head room.
@@TrevorPlaysGuitar2 thank man. I’m a fan of yours so I’m grateful you replied to me.
Peace Kindness and Rock n Roll
Dude , thanks for the video ,not a sheerhan fan but the looper looks good , hey you should be Vince in a Crüe tribute.keep rockin
Yeah the looper has some great features.
As for the tribute, I couldn't hit some of those notes without a step ladder, a canister of helium and a firm grip
I’m confused. Isn’t the volume controlled by the knob labeled “Main”?
The "Main" knob controls the output for the entire unit but the playback volume seems to be set - I wish there was a way to lower just the playback volume.
when was this? i miss your live streams 🥺 - J
I uploaded this about 20mins ago - and thanks. I'm about due to do another one.
If you're running your instrument through a volume pedal that would also address the problem wouldn't it? I have a volume pedal before my current looper now, since most sound guys tend to not give ukuleles enough volume. It's just a matter of remembering to turn the pedal down after your solo. Awesome video and love the input since i'm in the research phase of this pedal!
A volume pedal would definitely work - but as you said, it's a matter of remembering to reset. I'm a little scattered at the best of times lol
Curious: Why is the Venue after the looper?
That's what I use as my DI - it has the XLR output and you can adjust the EQ on the way out.
Can you turn down the volume on your pick up to play the chords and then turn up volume during solo?
I have been incorporating that, but my issue is that I will get distracted and forget to turn it back down again. That's where the boost comes in handy
Que otro looper compacto hay, similar al sheeran+ ?
BOSS RC-500 is one of the similar ones
What model Yamaha is that?
It's an A-Series A1M Cutaway. Surprisingly great guitar
overpriced garbage, and it's fugly, RC-500 is boss, made by Boss
