3 Annoying FAULTS on the Nintendo Switch & how to FIX them

- Hi, this video shows 3 faults that I believe will become very common as the Nintendo Switch ages.
The first fault is a loose kickstand which is easy to fix.
The second fault is a joycon which could be not syncing/charging or the fault shown in the video is not making the connection click, these faults are easy to fix.
The third fault is a Joy-Con which keeps unlatching from the Switch, this fault cannot be easily fixed but I give a couple of preventative ideas to stop it from happening.

they should either put another stand on the other side or have a wide stand in the center.

9:35 an idea is to rebuild the plastic using superglue and baking soda. Just keep putting a few layers on until it’s slightly taller and wider than the original and using a good pin as reference you can sand using sandpaper or small files until you get the shape right. I’ve done this for worn out battery door catches and it’s worked very well.

My solution to fixing Nintendo stuff is to blow on it. It worked on my Gameboy , DS, Dsi, and 3Ds and even my wii. Fixing Nintendo items since I was 5 years old.
Fitsum G yes putting the cartridge in and it didn’t work but then u blew on it and the thing magically worked
I wouldn't reccomend that haha, it can make the cartridge moist and can damage it, which can corrupt your data!

@@scorpodile9649 blowing doesn't really help anyway, it's mostly the removing and then potting it back again that fixes the issue. And if still doesn't work use toothbrush.

I have been watching videos for over an hour on trying to get the right joy con to charge. Your video was the only one I have seen that showed down inside the gold connectors and to clean in there. I only had a toothpick and got a lot of cookie crumble out of there! These joycons are only 2 weeks old and NOW it is charging. Thank you!!
I've had my switch since like, Jan 2019, and the only issues I've had so far are drift and my left joycon not wanting to connect sometimes and flying off when I accidentally drop the system. I was able to fix drift myself by replacing the joystick, but I honestly never thought about how I could fix the other issues. Glad to know it's more wear and tear than just breaking it.

Funny part is that my Nintendo switch was fine but then my "friends" was at my house and they would always try to break it since they don't have one and I'm lucky it's working at this point. Those friends are not allowed to come over to me anymore.
Edit: Hey y'all, It's been 2 years since I last saw this comment of mine and wow I didn't expect to see this xD.
To give some updates, my nintendo switch is still working but the joystick has some drag problems but it could have been something I caused myself.
For the friends part, I don't have any contact anymore with those that tried to break my Nintendo switch and everything has been well since then and yes it was jealousy that caused them to wanna break the switch since I knew they didn't have one themselves.
When it comes to myself so have I been great! It's been peaceful and I haven't needed to worry at all, reading the comments put me in a good mood seeing how supportive u all are and I wanna say thank you. I myself could never tell someone to do something like "pay back what u break" or "leave this house now" or swear at them and I assume this is why they tried to take advantage.

I had some "friends" that almost did the same to my switch. Because apparently I'm too "normie" enough to get it. I took it off there hands and I said "your too dick enough to be my friends" and I kicked them out.
Lmao if they did that I would kick their ass off my house then say "Fuck off jealous bitches. Poor assholes that can't afford a Switch and then need to break others." If they would have broke it I would say "Give me 330€ right now or I'll sue you bitch" or steal their phones and sell them. That easy..
Despite all the issues the switch has, I still love it for being such a versatile piece of tech, and it also has great games to go with its versatility.

One advice to avoid The dust
Do not put Your Joy cons and Your Switch Screen In Your pocket

they can fit in jeans but would not recommend for both console or comfort

Another piece of advice... If you're not using your joy-cons then store them someplace safe. That includes the Switch. I know it's easy to just leave it in the dock, but dust, dead skin, and debris does build up. Regularly clean it and store it away when not in use. The dock can be left out and dusted at least once a week.
Thanks very much for this!! I was having issues with my kickstand being very loose, and the method you showed worked! I didn’t think you could take the kickstand off and put it back on. I thought it breaks off or something.
This actually helped a lot. I've been having a lot of trouble with it disconnecting but the cleaning actually did work! Thanks man!
Best fix: dont let other people especially kids (!!!) and jealous people touch your expensive stuff e.g. switch

I remember I watched this video way before I even thought about getting the switch and it helped me when I had one of these faults later on in its life
Thanks for the video. I am currently dabbling in a little switch repair myself and did something that was a no-brainer to me. Whenever I took apart something and didn't have the proper replacement part available I would take a post it note, label it, fold it in a way so you have 3 parts along the sticky end of it but also utilizing the sticky side as adhesive to keep it together, Press it flat, fold one end up twice and fill in your screws and small parts so you don't loose them. Do the same with the top and you are good to go for storing it somewhere.

Thank you so much! I was panicking because I couldn't connect my joycon to the switch and i used the method for the 2nd fault and instead of a new toothbrush i used a cotton bud (I dont know if this has a different name over there) and it worked so thank you so much Vince!

I have a toddler who occasionally thinks he can play with my nintendo switch and even with my case protection for the joycon surface, the contact area needed some cleaning. So that tooth brush cleaning did the trick.

The brushing the contacts worked for me had that problem for a few months thanks.
Moral of the story is to be careful with the joy cons. Don't force them into grips, console, etc. Also don't put them on the wrong way

The joycons are weak as fuck. My right joycons thumbstick is half broken and I've never dropped the thing and only used them handheld. Don't know if someone else dropped it or something but it kinda wore down over time and now it just doesn't work at all

I can’t thank you enough I had to scrub the switch port for about 30 min but it finally connected for the first time in 6 months your a life saver no one could figure out what was wrong with it and Nintendo wanted to replace it I did not want my data list so thanks again

I just got my Switch 2 weeks ago, I never put the straps on wrong, and my left Joycon is super loose. Sadness fills my soul.

Ok, so I had done a mod on my joycons to make them atomic purple clear, and when I tried to connect them, they would disconnect sometimes, I thought I screwed them up, I tried everything to fix them, and I saw this video and just blew into the connectors (using compressed air) and it completely resolves the problem, so using compressed air to clean the connector pins works as well. (Thanks for the video btw! Thumbs up from me!)

A Channel lol it’s been a year and the joycons are still a problem. The plastic bit on the back still wears down. Nintendo has yet to fix the problem. Luckily there’s replacement ones that are metal. I’ve bought 4 switches now for myself and my sons and my wife. Only one of them had the joycon problem.

@@RealLauraDuke Ever had a ds or 3ds? Stylus gone, L/R problems, screen broken, touchscreen not working properly, eventually everything wears down. They arent made to last forever. Though nintendo stuff does have lower durability than playstation stuff tbh. My xbox controller also broke 😂 one day after years. Playstation controllers. No issues.

MY MAN! The tooth brush trick worked and I'm absolutely in disbelief. I had the smallest bit up dirt in my joy con connector. It's now docking as good as new!

My left joycon hasnt charged in over 8 months properly. It would hold a little when docked to the switch but like literally enough to continue saying it needed to charge. I used the tooth brush and presto! Its charging as we speak. Thank you so very much for this video.

Personally the only problems ive had with the stand are it being too hard to take out or it not balancing on anything other than a perfectly flat surface
