- Let's play Kingdom Hearts, but can I beat it without touching grass?
For a while now, there's been a trend of TH-cam videos like "How fast can you touch grass in X game?" And those videos are good, but.....I don't wanna touch grass??
I just wanna stay inside and not even LOOK at grass. So for this video, I'm gonna play Kingdom Hearts. but I even TOUCH grass, I QUIT!
This was a fun video to make, got to explore Kingdom Hearts games in way I haven't before. LET'S GO

Plays chain of memories for 4 hours, then plays KH2 for only 5 minutes. I would be pissed too.
i lost all respect for kingdom hearts not bringing their game to steam so i guess disney owns kingdom hearts to such a existent its going to be on epic get ready for 20$ skins and playing as peter griffin thru kingdom hearts 4 that is a fortnite exclusive we need more final fantasy characters welp everyone comes to fortnite

In Kh1, you could just lose the race. You don’t have to even leave the starting area

I thought even if you wanted to lose you had to activate the star for the race to end - maybe I'm misremembering

@@BradsGonnaPlay Isn't there a box Sora can lift in this area of the island? Normally you just use it to reach a Protect Chain but couldn't he maybe try throwing it all the way over to that platform to cover the grass?

Well, one would have been able to play until Sora's awakening anyways but hey, Roxas section is still cool :v
You'll have to touch real grass once you leave the mansion as Sora tho. :'(
By that same logic, you can complete Chain of Memories and Re:Coded. Re:Coded is only data grass and Chain of Memories is just Sora's memory of grass.

If we want to get really technical, none of the grass in any game is real, it's all images generated by computer code.

Well, even so, it would be difficult to get around the grass at the Queen's Castle which ended his Re:coded run. And before the tag wand ended the run, I was thinking of the grass at Deep Jungle.

So I know there's a bit around the camp, but is there any around Hippo's Lagoon? Because if not, Deep Jungle is doable outside of Wonderland which, at latest, would end the moment you try investigating.
If you think about it, though, grass is leaves.
I think that DDD could go farther. Here's why:
1. When you Drop in a boss fight, said fight resets when you come back. As a result, you'll appear on the platform.
2. Flowmotion likely could be used to avoid the grass in the graveyard (mainly jumping off walls)
Which would get you up to Symphony of Sorcery, but I don't think even 3D's completely broken flowmotion will get you through that world.
He could just stack Riku with spells so that he wouldn't risk falling into the grass.

Riku would start at the beginning of the bossroom after dropping and you could use range attacks in DDD.
Also you cam infinite flowmotion jump so avoiding
the grass on the graveyard should be easy.
I feel validated. I’m not saying it’s possible even with infinite flow motion. I just think he gave up too easily.

I think you could get further in the KH3 by doing a wall jump, then dashing forward and canceling the fall with a swing.

My first introduction to your channel, I love your humor and I also don't like touching grass or play chain of memories.
You could just skip the prologue of BBS, and you’d at least get to the midway of the beginner worlds before being forced to a grassy area between all 3 characters.
You aren't actually stopped by the graveyard in Dream Drop. You can flowmotion dash around and bounce off of the gravestones

With how broken flowmotion is in DDD, I think you might have been able to avoid the grass in that spot where Sora's ended.
The "grass" you touched in Rechain was just a large bush, but I understand using any excuse to run far away from rechain.

its actually possible to go farther in KH3 by using the aerial dash cancel ... if you jump, dash and attack, then do another dash and attack and repeat, you dont lose any air height. Same case for DDD where I think you can abuse flowmotion so that you never touch the floor where the grass is

I'm surprised you haven't put out a video linking the Epic Mickey announcement to potential good KH news. Despite the gajillion dollar investment Disney made in Epic, the Mickey game is getting released on steam :O I feel like that's unbelievably good news for the 3 year KH exclusivity conspiracy theories.
Honestly, Epic Mickey is being made by Purple Lamp, THQ Nordic. Which did SpongeBob, a nickelodeon game. I don't think Diseny put any money in it or has anything to do with Epic Mickey. They simply leased the game to an independent studio.

And I read "Exclusivity" as "Reclusive." As in, you were talking about the current drought in KH game release. So i legit thought you meant that Diseny was putting a lot of money in Epic Mickey, that they were even releasing it on steam. While they are completely ignoring Kingdom Hearts.
I only ever played the original chain of memories on the GBA, and, call it nostalgic bias, but I loved that game, conceptually at least.
i only wish it got a spiritual successor with it's combat systems, like what One Step from Eden is to the Megaman: Battle network series

Honestly me in chain of memories, i got stuck on the 10th floor so like, i never got through if yet rip. I finished every other kh game on critical or proud mode fr.

with the one in dream drop distance, you could probably actually exploit the wall jumping flowmotion to jump up into the air and dash yourself over to where the loading zone is, and since the loading zone is ON stone and not grass, you probably should be actually fine with that one! 👍

when i first played kingdom hearts i spent an EMBARRASSING amount of time trying to get out of destiny islands, idk if it was the controls, how old i was, or the game not being clear about what it wanted but i remember being three hours into this game and crying because i couldn't figure it out dfsbhjdsfs (and now i can speedrun it lmao)

In the first Kingdom Hearts you can throw the race to avoid touching grass. In Birth By Sleep you can skip the tutorial.
Just a question. In KH1 ( it could be me being a goose(not the first time)), do those bits of grass kinda look like leaves? Again i could be wrong but they look like leaves to me

Does the big box despawn during the chase, or can you carry that over to place on the grass(leaves)?
If you have a 3ds or 2ds you can use the thumbstick for the ds games, makes them a tiny bit easier honestly cause you can finetune your facing direction that tiny bit more

You may have been able to buy yourself a bit of extra playtime through a combination of Critical Mode(for enhanced starting mobility) and a simple "flight" technique in KH3.
In KH3 since you can guard and dodge out of attacks even in mid air, and it resets your combo, you can effectively fly by jumping, attacking, dashing, attacking, dashing, etc. on a loop, if you can lock onto something that is above your head its even better since Sora will track upward in the air toward it.

With KH1 not only can you lose the race and progress, but the top of those trees isn’t grass lmao

Chain of Memories is actually wildly considered to be better on the GBA. You should give it a try!
Dream Drop Distance should have been longer, you need more time to get Riku's done but you can do it. I just did.
Beating Traverse Town is doable, and I just did so. I need to get my Xbox to record the whole fight, but it IS something you can do!
Riku's Command Deck for me: Fire, Balloon, Cure, and Strike Raid. Using a NG+ game you can also make spirits from your last completion and they give you better Command Deck moves if you bond with them.
But NG+ is NOT REQUIRED, it just made it faster for me. I'm also playing on Proud, so it could be even easier on Normal

Even if you didn't count leaves as grass in KH1 (since they are genetically different species of plant, and therefore SHOULDN'T count), Wonderland alone was an instant loss, same with Deep Jungle.

could you have used flomotion in DDD and 3?
Moss doesn't grow on beaches where there is sand. A) True Moss likes a lot of water that isn't salty, B) True moss usually sticks to fresh water and/or swamps/marshes of higher acidity C) true moss requires a lot of dead plantlife/organisms/minerals in order to grow and sandy ocean beaches typically have to much salinity and are much too dry for it to thrive.
It is possible that SEA MOSS grows on beaches, but that ISN’T a type of moss, it is a type of seaweed aka ALGAE.
But sea moss wouldn't typically grow up a beach path that far from the ocean water itself.
It's probably grass.
The voice (KH1, Dive to the Heart) is Ventus, from Birth By Sleep, not Mickey.
