Given how few spirit eaters there are in the game, and how few you'll actually be able to make during the playthrough due to how many worlds there are, I would tweak just one rule. The one about losing ALL active spirit eaters when Sora or Riku die. I would limit it to just losing one spirit, decided by flipping a coin to see which spirit dies. From a story/roleplay perspective you can say it is one spirit sacrificing their life to resurrect Sora/Riku. This way the player has more lives to work with, as otherwise you only get 4 deaths per character which is really rough.

ive done a kh1 and kh2 keylocke. any time i died (after obtaining a keyblade fully as the protaganist) that keyblade was broken and i couldnt use it the rest of the run.
My only issue with that is in KH1 and 2 the only hard fights in the game were at the beginning when you have like 2 keyblades. Even on the highest difficulty.
@sarahwallace1103 and my first time doing it since I skipped some optional stuff I went into hallow bastion under lvled and only had spell binder and kingdom key left and I ended up losing spellbinding the friend ship speech riku and had to fight warlocke riku with only the kingdom key and that fight was metal as hell... probably my favorite fight in any kingdom hearts game even better then the remaster of it in 3.
@@sarahwallace1103 I disagree. Gigantic Ursula, Riku-Ansem, Dragon Maleficent, Ansem 1 and 2, plus World of Chaos gave me a lot of trouble on my Proud playthrough

If you do this with a friend there should be the stipulation Lord Kyroo is also free like the tutorial Dream Eaters, however only the guy who beats him can use him. That adds the risk of actually dying to one of the secret bosses and potential for collaboration or sabotage.
Start with a save file with all spirits already made, use a random number generator and use the order in the report as the spirits number. Oh and if you die during a drop, you forfeit the spirit for the world you were dropping to.
If you want to randomize, why not randomize? E.g. why not just create a table with the critters available at each world and then just use an out-of-game random number generator to determine which ones you can craft?

I feel like this would work better modded. Your dream eaters dying when you die feels too indirect. On top of the randomizer mod, I feel like a mod that redirects fatal damage to one of your dream eaters would make dying feel more connected. At least given how the dream eaters didn't die from dying themselves in battle once.

I have never thought about trying a challenge like this. My idea for the creating Dream Eaters is that you can only create one of each type of Dream Eater, and you have to use them in the game, regardless of the Dream Eaters level and where you are in the game, as a way to make it possible to lose a low level spirit you just made in a world with high level enemies or bosses.
Yea DDD is probably the only Nuzlockable Kingdom Hearts game since we have the -Dead Keyblade Children- Dream Eaters which substitues pokemons, like we can nickname them, "catch" by crafting them, etc.

18:16 You should try to fight this guy on Critical mode then. Some of his hits are straight-up one-hit KOs (including some pretty much unreadable attacks) for some ungodly reason. Baloonra is nice, but it's also a huge liability in this fight on Critical, as he can start some of his one-hit KO moves after you start Balloonra and still hit you before you regain control of Sora. You really need to make sure he's tied up in some way if you're gonna use Balloonra. As you so elegantly put it, F*** Rinzler

Considering you mentioned mods, you could've downloaded a mod that instantly unlocks Critical Mode automatically. But, being Critical Mode, you take 4x the amount of damage. So, you'd probably lose the challenge during Wargoyle as Sora or Riku.

Just saying, I hated the Trone world first time playing (and still kinda am)... The world was sooo confusing for me (all the different rooms that look the same, especialy in the tower), and I didn't saw Trone so the plot was also very confusing. The machines that fire at you were scary for me and it is the only world I don't like the music (I think it is also cause of all of the above, but still...) I liked the rails, and thats it

As a Pokemon fan I can tell the "souls of dead children" is like every ghost type. So yeah it is essentially a nuzlocke.

I think no-one has had the rescue thing happen more than once in a playthrough. The Dream Eaters are better than Goofy and Donald in that regard.
