Fun fact about Saïx's joke weapon being a banana is that it's literally a Japanese pun.
Saïx is number 7 in the Organization.
"Nana" is the Japanese word for 7.
7--> Nana--> Ba"nana"

Edit: So I looked it up on Google translate, and "ban" is a shortened way to say "Bangō" which means "number." So "Banana" is a phonetic way of saying, "Number 7"

I liked how Saix’s weapons hinted at his softer side, which we’d have no idea about in Days. “Just Desserts” hints at him liking sweets and being Axel’s original ice cream buddy. And his Mystery Gear has the moon shape on Isa’s jacket in BBS. Hinting at his selfless and nice side.

The great thing about Saix's second joke weapon that a lot of you CASUALS wouldn't know (this is a joke) is that the rabbit face on it strongly resembles the original in game sprites for the Hummingways from Final Fantasy 4 who, you guessed it, live on the moon. Well the "Red" moon, but you know. The moon. Rabbits on the moon is also just a semi common trope for reasons I can't recall.
And yes, that is what FF14's Lopporits are inspired by.
There's a Japanese folktale if there being a rabbit on the moon, whether it's due to the craters on the moon or the stars around the moon looking like a rabbit I can't recall. Dragonball even references this by having Goku knock a rabbit to the moon using his extendable bo staff.

Also, Lexaeus's hammer is a piko hammer, which is a pretty common "childish" weapon in Japanese media. Always depicted with a bright red head and an orange/yellow handle. Amy Rose has one!
There is also a tennis manga that is titled "The Prince of Tennis" which could be what Demyx's weapon could be referencing.

Vexen's Mystery gear was made into the Snowman Rosette in KH3, and Marluxia's is the flowers you had to cast thunder on in KH1 in Wonderland

The castle not having AC was actually a bonus chapter in the manga! In winter they buy a kotatsu and Zexion tries to ferment natto beans inside it which sends everyone running from the smell. But they all think Vexen farted, lol! Poor Vexen!

11:21 You need to rewatch Re:CoM. Marluxia is using a womans body in the final boss phase. Many have speculated ever since this woman figures appearance he either had his mother or sister die. Death being a huge motif with his character from the scythe and the Doom spells he casts. He was also trying to betray the Organization so few even theorized he might have been doing so out of vengeance for their death.

Something about Xemnas' Absolute. His ethereal blades share the same coloring as the bullets from Xigbar, being white with red highlights (although sometimes more pinkish in Xigbar's case). Xigbar's DM in BBS and KHIII has larger and more spiked bullets that are instead black with purple highlights, the same coloring as Xemnas' Absolute in this game.

The Moon rabbit is a mythical figure in East Asian folklore. The Japanese believe the rabbit is pounding the ingredients for mochi or some other type of rice cakes. there's a lot of mention of this story in Sailor Moon. Sailor Moon name Japanese name is "Usagi Tsukino" which roughly translate into "Rabbit of the Moon". In some countries and some translations her name is "Bunny". Also there's mention of this story in Dragon Ball and Final Fantasy IV. Sorry but Nothing to do with Saïx's personality lol 😂
The rabbit on Saix’s weapon is more about Japan’s traditional association of the moon with rabbits than anything else. There’s a folktale about rabbits living on the moon. Inspired by the moon face looking like a rabbit somewhere.

I think the bunny in Saix's weapon is a reference to the fact it looks like there's the image of a bunny in the moon
Rather than being foreshadowing, Id say there's more so a chance that Marluxia and Luxords weapons were probably used as inspiration on where they decided to go with the characters stories later on down the line.
I remember hearing my friend make that "sweep things under the rug" observation with Demyx (as well as the "toot his own horn" observation with Xigbar) and going to edit those into the khwiki as a teenager. I may have low key added that statement on khwiki you made mention of in Demyx's section when I was young. XD

6:55 - That's probably a pun. In Japanese, seven can be read as nana. And ban can be a shortened version of the word for number, bangoo. Ban nana, banana. Though, it works in English too with him "going bananas" but I'm pretty sure the original intent was a pun
7:24 - You know how we have the man in the moon? In Japan, they have the rabbit in the moon. So the bunny weapon being used on the moon character is definitely a cultural reference to that. Since the bunny only shows up when he goes berserk, maybe that's a reference to how you can see the rabbit best on a full moon?
8:23 - It could also be a reference to 1999 manga The Prince of Tennis, but since its name in Japanese is just Prince Custom that's a hard maybe

as for larxene, since you can see that the bulbs are always on, its safe to assume that the joke is that her body releases so much electricity, she can power anything. You can probably plug a microwave up her nose and it would work.

So... The Umbrella could be a refrence to- and this is a stretch, the fact that when Roxas decides to go Exterminautis on Org 13, it's raining outside. Black Umbrellas are also known to be a symbolic sign of death in some corners of the world.
Xion has the same joke weapon because she is LITERALLY someone who is an inverted copy of Roxas, who unsurprisingly is dead at the end of the game.

I like axels joke weapons, lego star wars the skywalker saga have 2 joke weapons,the blaster joke gimmick, and Baggett lightsaber. They also have mumble mode and pew pew mode. There are other jokey extras but those are the ones I like
Mumble mode is a reference to the original lego games, since the cutscenes in those weren’t fully voice acted, the characters just made noises
