There will never be a performer that would even come close to John. He had perfect pitch. He was a genius. He had
such a kind heart, wanting to help the needy and the wildlife and so much more. I have loved his music from the beginning of his career. I miss you JD.

@@Samramos4488 John was a person of brilliant heights and crushing lows, and yes, he had his flaws. He could almost be called a saint, as well. If he and Annie had only had an open relationship, things probably would have turned out fine, instead of jealousy and divorce. But they still had a good life there in the Rockies, paradise for a fleeting moment in time.

John Denver was like an ambassador of peace travelling to all different countries and sharing his outlook on life and expressing the loveliness of life. He saw importance in all living things, people, animals, nature and so eloquently put it to words and song. If only the leaders of countries bent on war and attacking each other could grasp how precious life is and appreciate it like John did, things would change but the change has to start from within ones heart. I'm glad John got to go all over the world and brightening up people in other countries with his music and just being himself!!! :-) :-) :-)

    Hello,
I love this song and was so saddened by his passing. I recall where I was and what I had been doing in the moment when I was informed of his death. A blink of an eye and it was only yesterday.....
Have you posted the boat ride of JD coming across the lake before the concert? I would love to see it. I'm sure many others would also enjoy seeing the video.
    Sincerely,
    David

    Lyrics
So you speak to me of sadness
And the coming of the winter
Fear that is within you now
    It seems to never end
And the dreams that have escaped you
And the hope that you've forgotten
You tell me that you need me now
You want to be my friend
And you wonder where we're going
Where's the rhyme and where's the reason
    And it's you cannot accept
It is here we must begin
To seek the wisdom of the children
And the graceful way of flowers in the wind
For the children and the flowers
Are my sisters and my brothers
    Their laughter and their loveliness
    Could clear a cloudy day
Like the music of the mountains
And the colours of the rainbow
They're a promise of the future
    And a blessing for today
Though the cities start to crumble
And the towers fall around us
    The sun is slowly fading
And it's colder than the sea
It is written from the desert
To the mountains they shall lead us
By the hand and by the heart
They will comfort you and me
    In their innocence and trusting
They will teach us to be free
For the children and the flowers
Are my sisters and my brothers
    Their laughter and their loveliness
    Could clear a cloudy day
And the song that I am singing
Is a prayer to non believers
    Come and stand beside us
We can find a better way

    How could anyone possibly say
they don't care for John Denver? That would be like saying " I don't care for angels."
