We had Annie's song at our wedding too, 1979, we also had I want to live. We had 42 years when i lost my husband, adore that man still. John's wonderful music always brings him closer to me.
He was such a gifted and talented gentleman, I remember him stating I an interview that it took 10 minuets to write the lyrics to Annie’s song in an elevator going to meet up with his new wife n their hotel room such a loss off talent
*You don't hear this music on the radio anymore so I came here to get my younger years back I'm 66 yrs old thanks to everyone that is listening to these oldies but goodies ✨😊*
The world sure has changed since this peaceful man left us. How I wish I could go back to those days when he was with us. Rest in peace to the body of John Denver. I know his spirit lives on somewhere!
I was born in the streets . Im in a brother-hood . Im a Marine . I always did things in a bad A$$ way . Then i heard of Johns music . I found a new way of facing life right away . His message gave me the strenght to live a happy life . Thank You Mister Denver 😊
Thank YOU! I know, wasn't this man great?? I was sooo lucky to have seen him at Universal Ampitheatre. I made my brother Pete listen to him, to take a little edge off his 60s Marine self- I finally saw it got through, he is part-time forest service in Bend, Oregon! So, thank you, too, John Denver.
I was born in 1980 and grew up listening to John Denver because my dad loved his music. Thank you, Dad, because of you I love his music, too. I've never seen my dad cry like he did the day John died. The world lost a legend that day.
There is no place for me to comment, but like your dad I also cried my eyes out. I'm crying right now and I'm 66 years old. John died in a plane crash, and that really makes this song prolific.
He died in an aircrash. So this song has more meaning than you can hear. He had to leave much to early but he left back songs that are timeless. Thank you, Mr. Denver!
I saw him in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1983. To this day, this concert is the best one I’ve ever been to. No back up band. No back up singers. Just John and 3 guitars. There is nobody like him and no one who has ever had a more pristine voice.
Annie s song brings back memories 38 years ago when I was dating the most beautiful girl in the world. I was a workaholic and we split up. 5 years ago I was on life support after a major heart operation. My family were told there was no way I would make it and the life support should be turned off. Some one whispered in my ear that Ann rang and told me to get better. I remember thinking how did she know I was in hospital. That was the first step on my road to recovery. An is married now.with 2 daughters who are probably as beautiful as she is. Her husband is the luckiest man in the world. Thank you John for annie s song. It has a very special place in my heart.God bless you.
I remember leaving for Vietnam at 18 , waiting for my taxi and this song came on the radio and she started crying terribly and I tried to comfort her , telling her I wouldn't be in combat I served 2 tours in the 1first & 25 infantry div. Felt terrible for my dear Mother , my brother before me also served on Nam ! Just a Nam Vet Tom
Songs like this make me sad … only because you don’t hear songs like this anymore.. John Denver was such a great songwriter and singer…. It’s so ironic what he says right before he performs this song. Especially knowing he died in a plane crash …. Rest easy John Denver the world was a better place when you were in it.. 🙏💔🙏💔
This beautiful song is also the story of my life. I retired from the U.S. Government as a Federal Air Marshal, after longing more than 5.5 Million Air Miles over six continents. I have seen and experienced so much in my flying time. And , I missed out on so much in regards to my family. I’ll never get that time back, pros and cons of it all. I’m fortunate my children have turned out so well. Some of my co-workers, weren’t as lucky.
@jojosgamingworld2280 probably the same planet as Janet Jackson, Cher, Whitney Houston, the Beastie Boys, Madonna, to name just a few non-rockers who were inducted in through the years. If they can make it in, then why not John Denver??
Music is a medicine to the soul, I'll be 32 soon, and I'm glad that I grew up listening to this man and many more relevant artists. I feel so connected to an era that I was not even part of, but these types of music are endless, and I'll make sure that my kids grow up listening to them too ❤
When I go on holiday to Thailand, i always play this tune on my last night before I go home, no one can predict the future, but no one will forget John Denver ❤❤
I had to get on a plane while serving in the USAF...leaving my wife and kids behind. It was very hard to fight back the tears. This song captures the essence of what I felt getting on that jet plane.
Salam Alaikom, brought me to my grandma's house in Ashburn, VA. To God we belong to God we return. Thank God everyday. Thank You Tete and Hiro and all my friends there
John's cadence and tempo are never rushed. He'd have been a great golfer! No other folk singer has come close to John Denver! RIP John your music is timeless.
I sang this old guitar at a talent show in highschool..I was 17 years old... before I went on stage I had been in the men's bathroom practicing the song and making sure I was in tune...there was a young lady who had slipped into the men's bathroom to just stand behind a wall to listen to me ...I didn't know she was there and when I finished the song she appeared and had tears coming down her cheeks..she said that she was moved by my playing and singing..and that's what I always wanted as a performer was to move people and make them feel alive.. i was driving on my way to work when it was announced that it was indeed John who has died in the plane crash...I pulled off to the side of the road and wept..we all sure miss you John....🎸🎸🎸
Absolutely perfect….what I wouldn’t pay to see just him and his guitar on the stage again. We were all so blessed to witness John’s God given talents to sing and make beautiful music with the simplest yet most ingenious lyrics.

What I have always liked about John' songs are that you can hear the words clearly they are not drowned out by the music. So many songs about the importance of love, the environment and the places where we live ‐Alaska, West Virginia, Alberta, Colorado and the simpler lifestyle. Cycled the Us and Canada twice inthe 1980s and a lot of hissongs kept me inspired when days were marked by headwinds or hill climbs or long stetches of relatively uninteresting countryside.
I remember listening to John when I was a teenager. His songs and voice are timeless. So sad He is no longer with us. I love grandma's old Feather bed song. God bless you John 🙌✝️
I flew a lot for personal, business and as a flight attendant. This song always plays in my mind as I have to fly out. I have one more flight planned and that will be returning stateside permanently and rejoining my partner. I played this song just before I had to leave and we were both in tears.

28 October 2023 Hi Royeby, Thank you for your service and the sacrifices you and others make for our country! Yes, military life is very hard on our families. I don’t think people really understand how difficult it is on the service-members and their loved ones. My dear husband was separated from our family for 7 years during the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, until he was medically discharged in 2009. He was not the same man when he came back, (many medical and emotional issues) but I am so thankful we had him for as long as we did… Due to his injuries He finally couldn’t go anymore, and my dear Husband went to be with the LORD in January 2022. 💔 I miss him SO much, and I think about him everyday! May God be with you and your loved ones, and all those who are defending “we the people,” who stand for Truth, Justice, and Freedom for All! My heart also goes out to the innocent souls being affected by the wars going on in the world today! It’s so heartbreaking to see the death and destruction! 😭💔I so look forward to the Day, when “death is swallowed up in Victory ,” when the LORD Jesus comes back! Thanks for sharing... the great John Denver... I have a portrait of him (on the wall above me) I found for sale in a charity shop... amazingly it was drawn and signed and dated on my birthday in 1980. (I was 30).
I don't say this about men but that is beautiful. He joins the great Keith Green singing with the angels. How great man must have been before he fell From Grace all the great gifts we've just scratched the surface😇✌️🌻

Heaven is very happy to ear daily from your melodies must more interessant than angels's ones
I don't say this about men but that is beautiful. He joins the great Keith Green singing with the angels. How great man must have been before he fell From Grace all the great gifts we've just scratched the surface😇✌️🌻
