we all miss him .....
Those were the times they were. In 1976 a guitarist and singer sang Annie’s song at our wedding as my wife was coming down the aisle. I cried then and 48 years later we are still together and much more in love with each other. Thanks John for the memories and your wonderful talent.
We had Annie's song at our wedding too, 1979, we also had I want to live. We had 42 years when i lost my husband, adore that man still. John's wonderful music always brings him closer to me.

He was such a gifted and talented gentleman, I remember him stating I an interview that it took 10 minuets to write the lyrics to Annie’s song in an elevator going to meet up with his new wife n their hotel room such a loss off talent

Thank YOU! I know, wasn't this man great?? I was sooo lucky to have seen him at Universal Ampitheatre. I made my brother Pete listen to him, to take a little edge off his 60s Marine self- I finally saw it got through, he is part-time forest service in Bend, Oregon! So, thank you, too, John Denver.

Music is a medicine to the soul, I'll be 32 soon, and I'm glad that I grew up listening to this man and many more relevant artists. I feel so connected to an era that I was not even part of, but these types of music are endless, and I'll make sure that my kids grow up listening to them too ❤

In my 20 years as a happily married Field Engineer, 2-week, 4-week or 3-4 months those departures were heart wrenching and very relatable to his song. Glad those days are long done with. We look forward to years before I ever depart like that again, it eventually will come again.

I remember leaving for Vietnam at 18 , waiting for my taxi and this song came on the radio and she started crying terribly and I tried to comfort her , telling her I wouldn't be in combat I served 2 tours in the 1first & 25 infantry div. Felt terrible for my dear Mother , my brother before me also served on Nam !

Songs like this make me sad … only because you don’t hear songs like this anymore.. John Denver was such a great songwriter and singer…. It’s so ironic what he says right before he performs this song. Especially knowing he died in a plane crash …. Rest easy John Denver the world was a better place when you were in it.. 🙏💔🙏💔

He died in an aircrash. So this song has more meaning than you can hear. He had to leave much to early but he left back songs that are timeless. Thank you, Mr. Denver!

I love so MANY John Denver songs. I used to play them on the piano back in the day, many moons ago! Ive missed his beautiful voice. I remember the day he died!💔 R.I.P.
I saw him in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1983. To this day, this concert is the best one I’ve ever been to. No back up band. No back up singers. Just John and 3 guitars. There is nobody like him and no one who has ever had a more pristine voice.
I really think he was an Angel from God. He just wanted to love people and sing about and share love. Kinda sounds like God…

John Denver was a musical genius
What I have always liked about John' songs are that you can hear the words clearly they are not drowned out by the music. So many songs about the importance of love, the environment and the places where we live ‐Alaska, West Virginia, Alberta, Colorado and the simpler lifestyle. Cycled the Us and Canada twice inthe 1980s and a lot of hissongs kept me inspired when days were marked by headwinds or hill climbs or long stetches of relatively uninteresting countryside.
For me, it's about a soul leaving it's vessel for another realm ❤

Thank you for your service and the sacrifices you and others make for our country!
Yes, military life is very hard on our families. I don’t think people really understand how difficult it is on the service-members and their loved ones. My dear husband was separated from our family for 7 years during the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, until he was medically discharged in 2009. He was not the same man when he came back, (many medical and emotional issues) but I am so thankful we had him for as long as we did… Due to his injuries He finally couldn’t go anymore, and my dear Husband went to be with the LORD in January 2022. 💔 I miss him SO much, and I think about him everyday! If you are reading this please pray for me and our seven children who greatly miss him too, along with so many others who love Him!
You are in my prayers, along with our fellow comrades! I was also in the Marines, and I used to cry every time my mom brought me to the airport… This song was extremely emotional for me on many different levels.
May God be with you and your loved ones, and all those who are defending “we the people,” who stand for Truth, Justice, and Freedom for All!
My heart also goes out to the innocent souls being affected by the wars going on in the world today! It’s so heartbreaking to see the death and destruction! 😭💔I so look forward to the Day, when “death is swallowed up in Victory ,” when the LORD Jesus comes back!

John Denver is a musical genius. He surpassed many of his contemporary singers in all genre.
I had to get on a plane while serving in the USAF...leaving my wife and kids behind. It was very hard to fight back the tears. This song captures the essence of what I felt getting on that jet plane.
I was 19. Id already been singing this one a while. His voice and guitar picking is beyond belief.
He was great indeed ...a lovely clear voice ....part of my youth a long time ago now.
